Lil' Nicks is my #1 hoagie spot in Philly. Hands down the best cutlets. I recommend the DAG, the DAG 2.0, and the parm special. Their Italian hoagies are incredible as well. If you're a returning customer you will begin to realize how special this place is. I've never been there when Nick is not there ensuring consistency and quality. I wish I had more stars.

Excellent Hoagie Spot! Seeded roll was amazingly fresh, super thin prosciutto, Capicola, and Salami. Added long hots and sharp provolone. Staff was great, place was busy and overall it was a delicious stop.

Great hoagies, great service. It's that simple, but if you need more here are some facts. Lil Nick's has some of the best fried chicken cutlet and Italian hoagies in the city. Other reviews and lists will tell you the same and for good reason. The ingredients are fresh, the chicken cutlets are cooked to order, the rolls are very good, there is a wide variety of traditional and gourmet hoagies available, alterations/custom orders are welcome, and the staff is warm/friendly. In short - five stars, highly recommend.

Lil Nicks is an extension of Big Nicks, a neighborhood deli where everyone knows you by name. Their long lunchmeat lines are bearable thanks to friendly neighbors asking about your family and the employees asking if you want your salami sliced the usual way. Relatable and loyal people that enhanced their business by adding to their greatness. Lil Nicks resides directly beside Big Nicks & specializes in sandwiches, hoagie trays & assorted party trays. Their employee Gary is a food artist in his own right, serving up the best hoagies and trays in South Philly that look so good you hesitate to even eat them, but you enjoy every bite once you do. They never disappoint.

Great Philly hoagie. We heard about this sandwich from JL Jupiter on YouTube and it did not disappoint. Happy to support local during these challenging times.

The meat was moist, tasty, properly salted, with a discernible bark. The amount of cheese, sauerkraut, & dressing accentuated the pastrami, although so much meat would be hard to impact! It needed the long spear to stay together. But yet I could cut & shave & make mini sandwiches. The potato salad was a great refresher. Not too tart, with carrots, celery, & I could taste onion. The pickle was not too acidic. Great crunch. A nice interlude between bites of the sandwich & potato salad. I took my time. It went into overtime. Washing it down with coke. My taste buds won. Great service. A nice diner like vibe. Incredible menu. We don't have this level of Jewish Deli in the Bay Area. I'd go every week. $36.18 is with it! I threw in a $10 tip for a great meal & nice waitress.

While I was downtown, I picked up about $92 worth of food, including 1 1/2 pounds of shrimp salad that couldn't be ordered online because, for some reason, the website would not allow it. The very next day, when we went to eat it, something was clearly wrong. The shrimp salad caused a tingling sensation on our tongues, and it was obvious it had gone bad. I called the deli to let them know not just because we couldn't eat it, but because I thought they would want to know if there was a potential issue with the batch. Instead of receiving an apology or any concern, I was met with a dismissive response of, "Oh, that's weird," and the conversation felt condescending. I explained that I couldn't bring the shrimp salad back because I'm leaving town and my mother has limited mobility. I wasn't asking for a refund on our entire order. I simply asked if they could issue a gift card or store credit for the shrimp salad so my mother could use it on a future visit. Every possible solution I suggested was met with an excuse as to why it couldn't be done. The spoiled food was disappointing, but the lack of empathy and customer service was worse. Loyal customers deserve to be treated with respect when they raise a legitimate concern. After years of supporting 4th Street Deli, this experience has unfortunately convinced us that it will be our last visit. I'm reading they have new owners, so maybe it's not the same amazing management we are used to.

The staff is super knowledgeable and helpful, and the hustle and bustle of the place makes it feel like an experience. We walked in for a late lunch and were overwhelmed by all our options. There's also a butcher's shop if you want fresh meats, and a designated cafe section for beverages and pastries to go. I chose an eggplant sandwich, which was thinly sliced, breaded, and fried, with mozzarella, and artichokes. The sandwich itself was so filling. The chips and pickle were an added bonus. They heated it for us before we went upstairs to eat. There's a quieter section with more ambiance upstairs, so we enjoyed the ac while we ate. I came back a few days later for a strawberry shortcake, and it was worth the trip. I love cake, so the miniature options were appealing and practical. Most of the cakes range from $12-30..Which is not a bad price for how much you get!
