While I was in Miami to do a review at Sunny's Steakhouse, the only thing I could think about was coming home to Philadelphia to get an amazing cheesesteak. However, one thing I forgot was the change in weather! As soon as I got off the plane, I found myself ditching my flip-flops for sweatpants and a jacket. My Uber driver took me straight to the heart of Philly for a cheesesteak at Oregon Steaks, and I couldn't have been happier. Of course, I ordered mine with mayonnaise, provolone, and that gooey Whiz. Can't forget the onions and that delicious sesame seed roll! The way those ingredients come together is truly amazing. The steak is shredded to perfection, and the bun is just right--crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. With the cheese running all through it, I felt like Rocky Balboa entering the ring, ready to take on anyone! I highly recommend this place for a delicious cheesesteak; I will definitely be back for more. read more

great service great food the problem is that it seems your prices go up every other month. Now sandwiches are just too high.

This review is actually a sequel to that dreaded Burger King review I posted before this. August 11th, 2025 I guess a couple minutes after that stop, I decided to stop by Oregon Steaks for some cheesesteaks. Unlike the last review, I actually got my good so I will be attaching photos. Service was great, it'd be stupid if I were to compare it with fast food service, to which I'm not. You can tell they make the food on the house since it took a while, but to be honest our big back asses got several items. I personally had a couple things, cheesesteak with whiz, cheese fries and chicken wings. The cheesesteak was loaded with beef, a little bit of cheese whiz but it was good. The cheese fries were okay, I didn't really like the cheese on the fries that much, but next time I should stick to regular fries. The wings are wings, they're also pretty good and came with ranch and buffalo sauce so that your mouth won't be dry as shit. Overall this was good eats. read more

Best cheesesteaks in SP! Customer service is always great, good vibes, and will always recommend.

High quality cheesesteak. I order with cheese whiz and onions. Meat is tender and juicy. Lightly chopped. Onions are chunky and crunchy - the way they should be. Rolls are soft but chewy. The perfect cheesesteak! Service is friendly and you get that inimitable Phillie ambiance. read more

Love this place! Love the South Philly ambience! Personal service. Ate here yesterday. Sat at the clean outdoor tables. Always get the cheesesteak with Cooper and Wiz. Sesame seed roll. Great tender, chopped meat. Tasty onions. Full sandwich with plenty of meat in each bite. The best! And a nice easy walk before a Phillies game. read more

Chicken cheese steaks are tough to find how I like them. Oregon's makes the best IMO. Bread is soft but not too soft. I get extra cheese, sharp American with onions and sweet pepps. read more

I came here because I wanted to add another cheesesteak place to my list. I keep a top ten list of favorite cheesesteaks in Philly. Mainly because I'm a huge geek. But it's fun for me to act like I'm a quasi pseudo expert on this stuff. Here's what it comes down to. This is a decent steak. It had enough meat. It wasn't loaded. But it was just enough. I thought the beef flavor was good and fresh. The roll had the right mix of crust and chewy to it. It probably could have used a little more cheese (I'm an American cheese guy). The onions were thick enough and not overdone. It's a solid, quality sandwich. Nothing about it was overly special to me. As I looked at my list of 10 that I keep in my phone (I know, what a dork), I couldn't put it above any of my top 10. But it might have a case for number 11 if that existed. Consider it an honorable mention. But it's a high level honorable mention. read more

Philly style Poutine!!!! I had their roast beef cheese fries and gravy, which were amazing. Excellent and flavorful, and it paired superbly with an IPA. My daughter also appreciated the chicken tenders that I had ordered for her, and she finished every last bite. Absolutely going to here from here again to try their cheese steaks. read more

Give me a minute before i give my food review of Oregon Steaks, you'll understand the reason for the build-up at the end. I take my 11 year old son to South Philly for our haircuts, yes there are places closer to our South Jersey home, but I like him to get glimpses of the tastes, sights, and sounds of South Philly every now and then. His Great Great Grandfather came to South Philly from Italy in 1886, his Great Grandfather was born in South Philly in 1909, his Grandfather was born in South Philly in 1943, and I was born in South Philly in 1970. My father moved our family to South Jersey in 1973, but we constantly went to South Philly for family visits and food my whole childhood. So, I feel it's important that he doesn't lose touch with his South Philly roots, there is a difference between people of Italian Heritage that are born and raised in South Philly from the people of Italian Heritage that are born and raised just a few miles over the bridge in South Jersey and I want him to know we are from the South Philly variety. So, he wanted a cheesesteak from Tony Lukes, like always, after our haircuts. I told him let's try another place this time. He was reluctant because he loves Tony Luke's, but I'm the Dad, we do what I say We ordered 2 cheesesteak both with American Cheese, and one Wit. We split and order of cheese fries. We both enjoyed our cheesesteak and he loved the cheese fries. I asked him when we were done if he liked it better than Tony Luke's, he said, "Dad, I think TL cheesesteak meat is a little more tender, but I love the cheese fries, and most of all I loved the atmosphere!" There were 4 guys there hanging out, you could tell right away these guys are Lifelong South Philly. He loved the way they talked to each other, their strong accents and he could tell how good of friends they were to each other. He asked if we could come back after our next haircut. I was happy that he enjoyed sitting at the very clean sidewalk tables and that he was taking in what was going on around us, that's exactly the reason I take him into South Philly. Long, long review short! Oregon Steaks has a good Cheesesteak and the cheese fries are very good. The employees we talked to were friendly and the speed of the service was good. Love the old school South Philly atmosphere and my son and I both would recommend you try them out for yourself. read more

My friend went home to Philly for the weekend and brought back some cheesesteaks from this place. Flight was from Ft. Lauderdale Florida to Philly. Not a long flight. Amazingly the sub was actually still kinda warm! It looked so sinfully delicious and the smell permeated as soon as they got in the car. It was soft and delicious, a little sweet. A really good tasting sub with loaded meat and cheese. I really liked it. read more

This is one of our go to deliveries !! I've lost count how many times we've ordered from here and it's always epic but tonight I felt the urge to leave my first ever Yelp review. We called an order in for delivery and it arrived in 17 minutes!! Oregon Steaks has always gotten our order correct. They are so quick- hot food & all the side sauces included. Everything on the menu is crave-able. Oregon Steaks you have us hooked for life. I want to be buried with your broccoli bites. Thank you so much! read more

Food is good just like geno steaks or pat king of steaks. The price was $10 now since we have inflation the price went up to $14.

A local friend of mine recommended this place when I came to town. It did not disappoint. I asked for chopped philly with provolone ordered through yelp. Soft bun low yeast bread. The steak, wow it taste like I'm actually eating steak. Had flavor and fat like steak. Very good! read more

Don't get turned off by the long line (we stopped by after an Eagles games... bad timing) but the food was definitely worth it. Note to readers: this was my first Philly Cheesesteak so I have no basis for comparison, but the food was awesome. We got the Old Fashioned (shared between 2), fries with ketchup and mustard, and some chilly peppers on the side. I love spicy peppers and this totally hit the spot. The cheesesteak was lush. My partner stood in line for about 20 minutes and there is some outdoor seating, but the place was a little too crowded. We gobbled down the whole thing in the car. Pricing: the old-fashioned was $10 which I thought was fair, but $6 for fries and a regular sized drink seemed a bit off. Would I go back? Yes. read more

I haven't had Oregon steak in 10 years . I use to eat it almost every day when I was working at the Home Depot on Oregon. And 10 years later I still think it's the best cheesesteak in Philly., next to Phillips, Oregon steak is it. Right amount of meat, right amount of cheese, right amount of onion., bun just right. If I can change one thing. It's the way the parking is set up. It's set up so you have to back in to get a good view. That's good if no car is behind you when your trying to back into it. But if you go in head first with the car flying by Oregon ave it get crazy. read more

I judge a cheesesteak based off its bread, cheese and the amount of steak. They definitely met all 3 criteria! The cheesesteak isn't out of this world but definitely on the top of the list compared to other places I've tried in Philly. Service was quick and easy! The ambiance was relaxed and causal. If you're doing a Philly cheesesteak tour - add this on your list! read more

We stopped by Oregons to get a philly after a concert because they were one of the only spots still open after the show. The restaurant was very busy which resulted in us waiting a decent time for a sandwhich and a side of fries. The oder line is a bit confusing as you have to order your sandwhiches from one side of the front and your sides/drinks from the other side. The fries were good, they came out hot and crunchy. I would say soufflé cups would be a good idea as there was nothing to put any of the sauces in. Our philly came out and honestly tasted bland. Mayo was only put on half of the sandwhich so the other half was pretty dry. I appreciate the place staying open 24/7 so we could grab some food but overall wasn't super impressed. read more

Awesome Steaks awesome food all around. I've never had anything that wasn't great from them. The service is awesome. The people are great people. Your food is to you as fast as they can get it to you they are busy all the time because of their food but like I said anything you order it's awesome. They have great food and they work hard to get your food out to you hot and as fast as possible. Everyone there works together and gets your food out and they deliver that's a plus you don't have to use Uber eats and all that bullshit give it a shot you won't regret it. I even rock there T-shirt's lol I need new T-shirts hats everything ASAP I order enough I should've asked last night to send me out a list of your T-shirts and hats and stuff with the prices. Next order can you get that list ready for me please of the shirts, hats and hoodies with a new menu please. Thank you read more

A few years ago we asked a group of locals where they go for cheesesteaks and in unison they said "Oregon". I was with a large party and we made our way to 10th & Oregon and gave it a shot. Today, I returned, still impressed with the speed of service and the staff. I gave this 5-stars because I failed to review this spot the first time. We even waited until we got home (a whole hour and a half later) to warm it back up and it was still fire! Not this time though! Half of us ate in the car with the other half on the benches like savages. If I could have eaten in their kitchen, I would have. Nothing changed, except my order. I got the Old Fashion which I wish I did hot peppers instead of sweet, not because it wasn't good, but because now I have to wait until the next trip to try it. We also got 3 originals, and two others less any mushrooms because these kids don't know how to eat yet, lol. Oh, we also got fries & chicken nuggets that would have made an amazing companion if they didn't disappear so fast. Very happy we made this an official stop whenever we're in Philly. read more

Oregon steak is a solid contender for the best cheesesteak in South Philadelphia they have the best food here of a variety of different sandwiches they are super nice and they have a lot of diverse menu items. If you like sliced cheese steaks original style, and not chopped, their standard cheesesteaks are excellent I would recommend the pizza steak or the provolone wit. The roast beef sandwiches killer, the rolls are nice bread and add good flavor, and everything here has been delightful and reliable. I believe it is a 24/7 establishment which with such good food and such great availability makes it five stars not to mention how nice they are here and efficient. read more

Please save your money and don't order from this place even if it's the only place open at the time you want to eat tonight my daughter ordered french fries with honey mustard dressing and a pizza roll we live 10 doors away from this restaurant and it took 49 minutes to be delivered now you might say to yourself why didn't you just go pick it up but she's 15 years old and it was late when I called the restaurant to ask where the order was the girl on the phone said that they were busy and that my order was just being made and miraculously 30 seconds later the delivery arrived at my door ice cold This place is a sham and a disgrace like I said when I first started this review save your money the food isn't good and the service is even worse they are way too busy talking on their cell phones and taking care of people read more

After closing out the night at a bar nearby, called in an order and I was lucky enough to be shown what a Florida style inside out is. For 10 bucks, we split a burger (fresh ingredients, good real meat, and lots of onions) and the Florida style (a pocket of happiness with more than enough ooey gooey cheese). Made it back and everything was still warm and ready to eat. I don't think I'll forget this pizza pocket very quickly- I've been trying to find another reason to be down in the area at the right time to grab 1 or 3 of them to show my friends this South Philly gem. No clue what the steaks are like, but people were braving the cold for food after 2am so I bet they are pretty good too! read more

After the third order that's been wrong, missing items or didn't get delivered at all, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Save your energy and order from someone else. Also if you order through an app (DoorDash, grubhub etc) Oregon steaks uses their own drivers so there really shouldn't be an excuse for mistakes. Icing on the cake - for my last order I paid through the app and the driver tried to charge me again in person.. never again ordering from here. read more

This place is the real deal. I was in town for an Eagles game and staying around the corner. I passed it walking back to my Airbnb after the game, but it was pretty crowded at the time, so I made a mental note to stop in the following day. For about $18 or so, I got a buffalo chicken cheesesteak, cheese fries, and mozzarella sticks to go. Could've used a smidge more cheese on the cheese fries, but everything was tasty and lasted me several meals. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area for a game. read more

If you like Pat's or Geno's, you'll LOVE this place. The fried onions was the best part. Never again.

I asked the biddies here to hide my cheese from my BF in a different bag and they did an excellent job! Cheese was successfully secured and away from the hands of my BF. Ordered delivery and it came pretty quick. We both ordered the chopped cheese steak and it was bomb af, still hot. I think other spots don't evenly spread the cheese the way they do here, so one bite might have cheese and the next is just straight meat.
