Of course we all know Anthony Bourdain's review of donkey's. And I've had many of the classic Philly steaks. First issue putting stuff inside a pretzel is always suspect to me... I was hesitant but my wife tried it first was going to share it but ate the entire sandwich. So I got one for myself. The pretzel was more roll like but retained the pretzel flavor. The steak was hot and tasty no sign of fat or grizzle. I'm not sure what type of cheese was used but it was browned on top! Great taste and flavor Ok I'm not totally convinced because I've had some pretty bad hotdog pretzels and pretzel sandwiches but I'd recommend this one. The price was reasonable for a food truck

You know? That umami crunch!!!! Yum. If you are not a fan of the crunch... I was educated to not say anything if you can't be nice. Mum's the word. The pretzel itself was delightful and I'd have ordered just one of those as the way the saltiness of it compliments the steak and cheese makes you want one all on its own. Because this venue is part of an outdoor community event, I can tell you that the seating provided at the location is plentiful. But, bring chairs with you in case it's busier than you expect. As for the food truck service? Five stars! The cashier and "front of the house" was taking the orders from each person in line then promptly serving out the completed ones, calmly, in due order and keeping everything warm and handing out the food with a smile on her face and plenty of napkins!!!! Much needed. I'm definitely planning to return to enjoy this delightful combination of a Philly pretzel with cheesesteak before they head on out this year in Brigantine. If you see them listed in your event near you, do make them part of your Food Extravaganza! It's a great food truck. It's one I had skipped in previous year at the Brigantine food truck festival. Please do enjoy the outdoors as you enjoy a wonderfully constructed sandwich amongst the folk in the city into a summer night. Enjoy!

She brought the drinks out quickly but it did take about 20 more minutes for her to come back and take our food order. We waited about another 20 minutes for the appetizers to come out. When they did, they were cold. The buffalo wings were literally cold to the touch. The flavor was good, but the sauce on top was no longer moist, it was dry as if the wings had been sitting out for a while. The mozzarella sticks had good flavor, but again, they were cold. We waited another 20 minutes for our entrees to come out. I ordered the Plumsted burger with sweet potato fries. The only thing that was hot was the burger itself. The bread was also cold to the touch, and the fries had completely cooled down as well. The description of the burger stated "fried onions". I thought this meant it would include something similar to an onion ring. Instead, the burger had sautéed onions on it, which I do not like, at all. We also ordered the chicken parm sandwich. The sauce tasted straight out of a can. The temperature was warm, not hot. It was closer to being cool. Fries that it came with were mediocre. Overall, the common issue was the temperature of the food. Nothing was hot. I don't know if it's because it was sitting out in the back for too long. Our waitress never came over to check on us/ask if we needed anything. We waited too long for each dish and even trying to pay took forever. I think everyone was very overwhelmed. This place might be better on a weekday when it isn't as busy. But as for my experience on this particular day, I wouldn't return. They had the bartenders serving the high top tables as well and I think this was the downfall. The bar was completely packed and it was just too much to handle. They need to let the bartenders focus on the people at the bar and get more servers for the floor. Also overheard one waitress saying "these customers think they could do whatever the f*** they want". Very unprofessional. Would not recommend this place.

Both restaurants have been in business for well over half a century with well-deserved accolades. Despite having grown up in Brooklyn, I hadn't been to either before this year. I read reviews and actually asked ChatGPT what to order at R-N-R. We went with its suggestion: medium roast beef with cheese, onion rings, root beer and lemonade. My sandwich was more well-done than requested. They don't offer 'rare'. The few bites with red meat were infinitely better than the rest of the sandwich. The roll, as everyone points out, is baked in house. Though light and puffy, it didn't outweigh overdone beef. Onion rings were great, root beer average, and lemonade -- per my husband who loves lemonade -- excellent. While I wouldn't balk about returning, my vote goes to Brennan and Carr, though truly, when cooked as requested there is no substantial difference. If you take the train, get off at Sheepshead Bay Road and head south. Turn left at Emmons Avenue and keep walking. Twenty minutes all told.

Seems like real local classic, very nostalgic feeling - need more restaurants like this all over! -Had roast beef sandwich with grilled onions, fries (uniquely kinda made - great with cheese!!), pizza & strawberry lemonade (didn't get pics) -Was in NY for 4 days, had RNR twice lol RNR being open till 1/2am & having quite a few different options is really nice & doesn't break the bank. Restaurant is also big, plenty of seating. Great for late night grabs or afternoon lunch! Sandwich was very tasty, pizza was good, that's strawberry lemonade was delicious!!! Definitely next time I'm in Brooklyn, stopping at RNR
