You can't really call Aldi a supermarket in the traditional sense since their selection spans only the "greatest hits" across categories and their reliance on copycat store brands is unintentionally hilarious to say the least -- Loopy Fruit cereal is a classic that only their lawyers could love. However, their quality is generally first rate and I'm a big fan of their prepared Chicken Salad. Aldi's not a weekly destination but their concept is executed brilliantly. Aldi's is great for many things (although, I still need to go to Shop Rite on occasion to pick up other grocery items), but what I am able to get from Aldi is great both in price and quality. Aldi has gluten free and organic items at prices better than local grocery stores. I have bought organic vegetables (spinach, lettuce, carrots, tomatoes), gluten free pancake mix, organic pasta sauce and salsa. They all tasted great and the prices, according to my estimation are about 25% less than the regular grocery store. Aldi sells its items under its own brand, so don't go looking for name brand items. Everything is private label and some of it is imported from Europe as well. I always take a look at their red hot special of the week which is usually a seasonal or household item. I've bought some great hanging outdoor planters as well as small outdoor tables at 50% of the price I would have paid at either Home Depot or Target. Red hot buys only apply to whats in stock. Once it runs out that its. The items available rotate every week. I'm certainly a fan. read more

Great location for this Aldi's located a short walk from a Retro fitness, Staples, etc. Competitive prices on produce, organic and gluten-free products, frozen items, fast check-out, ample free parking on the shopping center parking lot, credit cards accepted, etc. Please remember to bring your own bags and a quarter if you were to need a cart. read more

This ALDI is probably one of my favorites! I usually go to the one near me in East Brunswick, but I was in the area, and decided to check this place out. The store is fair size, and has a great deal of food, and variety of cleaning supplies. I could find so much to buy here all at reasonable prices, and I save so much. money from coming here. Despite, that I don't find this location super clean, and the staff not terribly friendly, this store definitely had mostly everything I needed. There was so much variety here, that I couldn't believe it! I usually am not a big fan of Aldi, but this store was definitely an A in my book! read more

For supposedly the best grocery chain in North America.....I remain unimpressed. This being only my second visit to an Aldi's with it's spare "warehouse"layout and unrecognizable home/European/off brands leaves me a bit uneasy as I have no frame of reference as to quality control and ingredients of those brands. Prices however are very good on staples and snacks...Which Aldi's apparently excels in as the first aisle features an epic selection of snacks,potato chips and off brand sweets. Soda and juice aisle held some very imaginative knock off selections also. Dairy and frozen foods are well stocked with just about every category of cheese,cold cuts and snacks all but a few national brands and the fresh meats held a lot of poultry but light on pricier proteins and prime cuts. Bring a quarter to use the shopping carts and your own shopping bags as not even boxes are offered as did the Bottom Dollar Aldi's bought used to supply. I'll stick with Costco for my Warehouse experience....at least they give free samples. read more

I still love this place even tho right now they are rearranging the entire store to make room for more stuff..I couldn't find anything bc nothing was where it used to be. I hate when stores get you used to a certain plannogram after 20 yrs and then change it. I'm all for adding new products but tends to be a pain when ur in a hurry to get in and out. They are adding a baby section which is good for new moms. I do like the fact that they have been subtly adding new international cuisines whether it be frozen or in a jar. I think that's great. So glad aldis moved to this location. Their produce is decent just wish they had onions and potatoes separately bc not all of us buy a 5lb bag. I've been buying strawberries and blueberries for $1.49 they had to be the best blueberries I've had in a long time. They were huge and really sweet. I ended up going thru 4 pints in 2 weeks. We absolutely love this store we just want to warn people if you're going to do the online delivery they use insta cart and they're not that reliable. They delivered our groceries tonight in a huge box that was broken and items were falling all out on the ground. When I said something to the guy he handed me bags. We will be doing our food shopping in the store from now on and not having it delivered because of this reason. Also it's free delivery from Aldi but insta cart charges a delivery fee of almost $6.00 plus the tip. That u find out about at the end. Its cheaper to just go get your stuff. read more

I actually think this is one of the better Aldi's locations compared to the other ones I've been to. They have a large range of variety like many different cheese types including vegan cheese, a lot of different milk types, and a good amount of fresh produce. They also have more pre-made refrigerated dishes than other Aldi's and more gluten free items. Since it's an Aldi's it doesn't have as much variety as a large supermarket like Shoprite, but it has the essentials like eggs, milk, frozen pizza, snacks, NUTS (the nuts are abundant and cheap), chocolate, and common meats. I always pick this over Shoprite because I feel Shoprite is over priced. read more

I have been shopping at Aldi's for over 20 years. It's always been a decent experience at the Ewing/New Brunswick or Willingboro locations. Today at the East Windsor location though was different . I have never encountered a surley or disgruntled cashier until today. It was first thing this morning and the man that was cashiering was horrific. I cannot say why, but I have my suspicions. He was rude and manhandled not just my groceries, but the three other customers groceries after me. ( I observed him while bagging). I hope this does not become the norm. read more

This was my first time at Aldi's and it will be my last. Employees/cashiers were very unprofessional and made the experience awkward. Walked in to find that the store was half complete; items still in boxes sitting on the shelves. Maybe that's how they do things here? No big deal. Found the items I needed, and got in line. In the middle of the day on a Sunday there were two checkout lanes open. A middle lane opens, and a man says "You, you, you, and you come over here. You, then you after... okay just get in line and play nice." A cashier comes over SUPER pissed that we all dared come in to shop today and was fighting with a manager while she checked some people out. She then gets up to leave and another cashier yelled out "why did you even come to work today?!" A different person is now checking out my items and places them in a cart. When I asked for a bag, he said that they are behind me. I turned around to grab one and he says "By the way, you have to pay for that. Ten cents per bag." He was already ringing up another customer so I decided to just walk out with my items in my arms and vowed to never return. Maybe that's how Aldi's grocery stores are, and I was just very unfamiliar with how they do things there. But I will not be returning; I'll stick with Trader Joe's or Shoprite. read more

Love Aldis - I find there prices to be fair for the quality. There brands are way more trust worth then local super market brands like shop rite. They have gluten free and tuns of organic stuff ! Mainly why I go there. I went the first week and they didn't have my organic banana pops! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! But when I returned the manger I guess ordered them in. That's what true management does! BEWARE OF THE BAD ATTITUDE EDITA - I simply told her that I don't have a cart and wanted to know how much one of the plastic cost! She THREW my banana into the shopping cart, as she was ringing my grocery. The 3 of the 6 bananas ended up having to be thrown out because of how badly bruised when she threw it in the cart. This cashier also REFUSES to let me get another bananas since 1/2 of the bananas were uneatable! She also gave me a bad attitudes when I asked her about rain checks because there was no more mangoes that this company has on sale in the flyer. With her kind of attitude, she shouldn't be working as the cashier, JUST BECAUSE there was ONLY TWO cashier register open and the lines was backed up towards the back of the freezer aisle! I've always heard that Aldi was growing to be like Wegman's and since Aldi was closer to my house than it is at Wegman's, I decided to go Aldi today. BUT GUESS WHAT?!?! I'M NEVER GOING BACK TO ALDI! I rather drive 20 minutes to Wegman's than driving 5 minutes Aldi! read more

The store in East Windsor NJ is the worst supermarket I have ever shopped at. I have been there perhaps 4 times for a few items. Each time the staff was unfriendly and acted like they were doing me a favor. Thwir shekves are not always stocked and the selection is poor. I bought some juice there because i was in a hurry and the price was high compared to higher end supermarkets. So poor service and no bargains. Bo wonder there are only a handful of people there at any one time. read more

Now that my children are out on their own, Aldi's is great place to shop vs. Costco and Sam's (no need for the bulk anymore). My dollars go along way here and I'm pretty happy with the quality of the products even though I do go to other places for certain meats and seafood. My biggest complaint is the staff -- they are not the friendliest bunch and they throw your things in the cart with no regard of placement or type of items other than bread and eggs. Everything else is a free fall in the cart. It wouldn't hurt for them to slow down!! read more

I won't comment on their bag and cart practices, everybody is familiar. I have no real gripe with this store, other than it not being a "one-stop-shop" for all my grocery needs. Maybe it's because I'm just extra careful, but I don't feel comfortable purchasing meats here. And they simply don't carry all of our produce consumption. I understand that I could probably save ten dollars a week if I shopped at BOTH Aldi's and Shoprite. But my time is worth much more than that. This was the worst experience I have ever had at Aldi's. The cashier, Slandana, was absolutely horrible!!!!! She was the only cashier working, but the store was not busy. She seemed to be in a major rush telling us to put our stuff up on the belt as we were already doing so than before we had emptied our cart told us to give her our cart when we hadn't even finished emptying the cart. She proceeded to scan at record speed throwing everything in the cart as fast as she could. There was one gentleman behind us with a few items. Anyway, I was trying to bag our stuff and ask her to please slow down and stop throwing my groceries. In retrospect I should have just left. I was so furious. She told me the bagging area was over to the side. It was me and my teenage son bagging there is no reason we couldn't have gotten everything bagged in the time she scanned if she was not in such a frixin rush. read more
