Wawa (the 7/11) of New Jersey, has my heart. During a recent vacation, we were able to take the golf cart over to Wawa to bring back breakfast for the family, enjoyed several iced coffee and snack runs, and of course, grabbed some hoagies. We frequented many Wawa locations throughout our stay, but this one was special to us. Friendly and quick service, always a bustling of people coming to/from the Shore, clean and stocked, and offering pretty solid foodie products. They offer kiosks to order from which are pretty user-friendly, and we enjoyed our routine of grabbing the iced coffees ourselves. I feel like Wawa is a must if traveling on the East Coast. The food felt fresh for extremely fast-casual, and is literally so convenient to hop in/out on the way or home from a busy beach day. Portions are packed, and items are pretty easy on the wallet. And trying to be like Starbucks with all of these customize coffee drinks it has ignored. It's basic coffee consumer. The Wawa at Chadwick Beach is a large centrally located convenience store, and that's good, however this particular Jersey Shore location is a Covid petri dish. No one wearing masks, crowded with big truck, big belly people. Saturday morning is a mob scene with all the new weekly renters arriving. I must admit I have an emotional attachment to these beach spots from my childhood in Ocean City, MD and 20's in the Outer Banks of North Carolina! I love the crispy breakfast Burrito sine thevpotatoes--still wish for green chiles e.g., Philz Coffee Huntington Beach SoCal--at least cheaply priced hence 4 stars! I respectfully disagree with my fellow Yelpers because WaWa is about hanging out drinking "slurpees & coffee in AC escaping the heat. This wawa is just okay for me.. since they are on the island I feel like they're more limited in terms of food/other products that they normally would carry. I usually enjoy going to the hot station w/ the stuffed pretzels and most of the time there's very little to chose from. They also had a very limited section of hot food. Being from New York, I do not get to go to Wawa often. Outside of my week at the shore every year, I maybe get to have their delicious, super-cheap sandwiches once or twice a year. They have a great selection of standard convenience store stuff, all at great prices, and they make fresh, hot, tasty sandwiches for cheap, and completely customized. No fumbling to point to which vegetables you want on your sandwich, no explaining why you decided to put mustard on a sandwich that already has buffalo sauce on it. Extra cheese? Yes, please. Hey, guess what? You can't eat here but the prepared food is pretty damn good. Ordered a beef panini w/various toppings that you customize on the the computer screen. Obtain the order number, pay for it and they will call your number when ready. It's that simple. I never ordered at WAWA b4 though I was aware of that procedure. The man behind the counter was a belligerent jerk. It took 30 minutes for a quesadilla, and his only explanation was "you try working here". Many other people were infuriated with him, so he proceeded to make nasty comments. When the Mac n cheese ran out and people complained his only reaction was to stare people down. I was a Wawa virgin a week ago. Imagine that. What a horrible life I've had. Not any more! TastyKakes? Yes please! Hoagies? YUM! Alright, alright. Let's get some perspective on this. TastyKakes are awesome, but they're not exclusive to Wawa, so let's not get too excited. And the hoagies are great and all, but they're not any better than you'd get from a good deli. Though they are cheaper, and you get a whole host of options you don't get everywhere. You can choose what and how and why and when and everything. I love the prices and I love the choice. The best. This is the ultimate convenience if you live in or around Chadwick, and their food is actually good too. I've been coming to this Wawa my entire life, all the way back to when it was the small shop in the strip mall here with Roy's and the fruit stand. Get the sweet cream cheese stuffed pretzel! If you don't see it under the warmers by the register ask one of the workers and they'll fresh make you one. It'll take maybe 5-10 mins but it's SO worth it. They have amazing subs that you can pick all the fixings you want, most for no extra charge! And I love the frozen dessert cups that you can mix yourself and choose the thickness. My go-to flavors are cookies and cream and smores. Wawa is singlehandedly the best thing NJ has to offer. read more

LOVE WaWa. Coffee to die for at reasonable prices, Sandwiches made to order, very tasty, fresh breads, reasonable prices, especially in the summer to attract the kids going to the beach. This is a great place to have in the area off season and on. On season it is jammed with beach-goers but they have adequate staff to handle the throngs of shoppers. I love Wawa French Vanilla coffee and the fact that you can make it yourself. This past weekend, I tried an egg white omelette topped with vegetables. It wasn't quite what I was expecting but it was still good and I would get it again because it was healthy and cheap. During the summer, this Wawa is pretty crowded because it's the only convenience store that offers fresh, fast food in the area. Definitely worth the wait. read more

I've been going to this wawa for multiple years now and I've never been more upset about the freal machine being removed. The staff at this wawa are so friendly and the food is always good. But since they removed the freal machine it just hasn't been the same. I feel very upset that I haven't been returning to this wawa as much as usual because of the lack of the freal machine. read more

The new layout at this Wawa is atrocious. If I could give this no stars I would...They used to have Freal machines, that probably made a lot of money from me alone lol, and now they are gone. That was one of the only reasons that I rode my bike three miles to your wawa, along with your chicken that used to be In the heated displays at the checkout counter, which mind you now is also gone. I will forever be saddened that this "renovation" occurred. (I personally thought that renovations were to make places better but we can all probably see that that has not happened here...) Just a solid convenience store with touch screen made to order sandwiches. Toppings and add ons you never even thought of and breakfast is solid too. Many coffee options. Don't tap the "extra mayo" button unless you want to swim in mayonnaise as you eat your sandwich. Hash browns in the morning are decent. read more
