I have been coming to this location for about 4 years now and today I received customer service that was unmatched from both Justin & Dion. I came in to order a panini and had the pleasure of checking out with Justin. He was very friendly & outgoing and helpful during checkout. When I was waiting on my food, I saw Dion making what looked like gourmet drinks. The drinks he was making looked so good that I decided to go back and place another order for one for myself. I go to WaWa mainly for their drinks, gas, snacks, and muffins. Customer service is meh (sometimes good and sometimes bad) and the store is a bit filthy at times. I don't know why I always think the food items would be good but they're honestly not. The last visit was the final straw in trying their food items. I ordered a tuna salad sandwich. It took almost 45 minutes just to get the sandwich and the workers there looked like they didn't want to be there. They legit stopped and stared at us for a few times while we were waiting. The sandwich is huge but that's about it. I had the tuna salad sandwich with lettuce, mayo, bacon, and tomato. Everything was flavorless. The sandwich was soggy and the tuna salad was lukewarm and watered down. I could not for the life of me, taste any seasoning on it. I even added salt and pepper and it did not make the sandwich any better. The bacon was also soggy and not crispy at all. It was very unpleasant experience. I stopped at this Wawa in the westside of Jacksonville around 4am on Friday (October 20th, 2023). This chain of convenience stores is open 24 hours a day. I discovered this store when I was living in Palm Beach County back in 2017. Then, I had it all over New Jersey and Pennsylvania back in 2020 on a road trip. I really enjoy ordering hoagies here. I think Wawa has the best sandwiches out of all sub chains I have eaten. This time I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak with provolone cheese, tomato sauce, grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes, & cucumbers. It was delicious, where the sandwich was just melting into my mouth. For ordering, food is selected with a kiosk, prepared at a kitchen, and the customer pays for it with a receipt at the checkout register. This place is a must-try for sandwiches. I have always order from WAWA through DoorDash and I have never have any issues before. I have placed an order yesterday (08/28/24) through DoorDash. Today I went ahead and took one bite of the cherry danish cheese and digest it. When I look at the danish it had mold on it. I start having a lot of saliva, I'm started having abdominal cramp, headache, and I feel nauseous. I might have to go to the hospital because of this nonsense. What made it worst there is an expire date of 9/11/2024. Updating to a 1 star. I'd rate it lower if I could. It's absolutely ridiculous that a year later and they still have not fixed these issues. The food is supposedly "made to order" and yet it's cold and old every single time! I actually like the burgers but the one I ordered tonight was cold. Didn't have the toppings I asked for. The fries were VERY OLD and STALE! Like they had been sitting there for hours, seriously?! I would have drove back and made them fix it but, I shouldn't have to do that! I use to love them.... to the tune of &400/$700 a month. Gas and food. I'd buy my coffee and sit in the parking lot, waiting for my daughter to get out of school. Have health issues (narcolepsy being one) and sometimes I fall asleep. I felt safe here. Can't make the drive to my residence after work... I'd park and sleep for a few hours. Narcolepsy doesn't care if I'm driving when it hits. Not once did anyone say anything. And heck with food, gas and coffee, I was spending $20-40 a day. So I'm thinking, it's all good. Until I was approached while looking at ice cream last night. (Have the flu thought the cold food would help keep me awake on the drive) BUT I wasn't approached by an employee.... which would have been logical , "hey we notice on occasion you have slept in the parking lot... we appreciate your business but it's a liability".... nope... they had called the police on me and filed a trespass notice against me. I was in shock. After being told several times that I would be arrested if I came back to this wawa, I was upset. And that usually triggers the narcolepsy. So I went somewhere to calm down. To distract myself... I looked over my checking. I spent close to $7000 in the last year. This was handled so poorly by management. I can't even begin to express. Communicate with your customers.... don't call the police on them. I would have explained the commute, sleep disorder, apologized and moved on. And you would have retained a customer. First up... coming from the land of Wawa, where there is a Wawa on almost every corner in New Jersey, I don't stop in Wawa often here in Florida because A) being Wawa'd out from NJ and B) although I see more and more coming in, just not as many around... anyway, ever since Wawa introduced pizza, I wanted to give it a shot and I finally did. Being from NJ, pizza is another big deal. Pizza is a thing lacking down here in Florida. The pizza we got from Wawa last night was actually pretty good for what it was. It was close enough to pizza shop and I'd say on the upper end of the Papa John's, Domino's. Pizza Hut, etc. I would absolutely get it again. The Wawa itself, pretty clean. The workers/staff were all pleasant and friendly. Definitely a spot I'll come back to! read more

Grand Opening Ceremony today. We've been anxiously waiting for this place to open. It was really crowded due to it being the grand opening and we were short on time so we didn't get a chance to try any food but since it's within walking distance we will be sure to give an update. From what we saw today the store is spacious and clean. The attendants were very cheerful and helpful. Again.. we were short on time so we didn't purchase any gas either but for now it's $0.15 cheaper than the gas station across the street. We're very excited for this new gas and food store option. If you're in the Oakleaf area, stop by for a visit! Doo-able vs Un-dooable.....(a review of restrooms to determine if you are able to discreetly take care of business in an enjoyable atmosphere. ) Because this location is brand new, one would think the facilities were immaculate therefore making it ideal for duecing... in this case you'd be correct. This location offers a 2 urinal, 1 stall facility in a hidden hallway at the back of the store (very discreet). The style in the restroom is modern and music is playing just loud enough to mask any sounds coming from the stall if you happen to be sharing the room at the time. The stall offers seat sheet protectors and the location of the roll(s) is in good reach and well stocked. In my opinion, this location is VERY DO-ABLE! It would be 5 stars but these Florida Wawa's just are not as fast paced as the one back north. Also no pork roll still? I was hoping they would try bringing it down here but I guess there is no market for it although Jacksonville is a city with a lot of transplants. Always wanted Wawa's in this area after utilizing them in other states. They are always clean, friendly service, have free air for tires, and easy to get in and out quickly. Service here is not as fast as it used to be. Food is good for the price, and employees are friendly. Inside the store is fairly clean; however, the outside eating area is in a deplorable state! Some of the same trash on the floors stays from day to day at times. Floor looks like it has not been cleaned for a very long time. The tables & chairs have built up grime with cigarette residue from extinguished butts. This store used to be kept very clean inside and out. Even the outside covered trash receptacle is so gross. I can see why not many customers eat out on the patio anymore. It's filthy! They used to have employees that would come out on a regular basis and keep the patio clean, but not anymore. Can I give this place zero stars!!! I live close to this WaWa and I've been in there exactly twice. I will never stop there again. I have never encountered such rude and lazy employees in my life. The first time I was purchasing a sandwich to take to the beach. The 3 employees behind the food counter were too busy having a conversation to bother with my order. It took forever and no one was ahead of me. They could care less that I was standing there waiting. It was completely inedible when I opened it. I bought a chicken salad sandwich. It was just overloaded with mayo and chicken salad to the point it was nasty soggy! Today the cashier was blatantly rude she couldn't be bothered to bag my items. Could not count my change back and she didn't bother to give me the 12 cents in coins. It's not the amount it's the principle. I had to ask for a bag since I couldn't carry the items without one. This Wawa is usually decent. But if you go into order food, do NOT order if Heather is working the food counter. Your hot food comes out cold and soggy and then when you simply ask if she can heat it, you are greeted with a negative attitude. We may not have a local coffee house, Oakleaf, but we now have a Wawa! How can I have anything to say but the best on a grand opening day?! They are giving free coffee for the first 10 days. I also nabbed a free ham, egg, and cheese croissant. I am currently enjoying the outdoor patio and 80s music while I eat my sandwich and writing this review. This Wawa sits on a corner for easy access to two different entrances. The croissant bread has a nice crisp on the outside and the inside is soft, I highly recommend it for breakfast or lunch. I've always heard these fairytales of Wawa bread, and I must say it does not disappoint. Their coffee is legendary, but I will confirm that even on grand opening day the coffee is still hot and bold. The pour-your-own coffee bar is pretty impressive. Am I getting too comfortable with gas station coffee? Maybe. I don't know who the lady was working food around midnight on 4/20/21 (4/21/21 if it was past midnight) but she is heavier set, had dark hair pulled back, and wore a hat filled with decorative pins. She was by far THE RUDEST person I've ever had make my food at Wawa. I must've accidentally pressed a button because when I got my order it was covered with this red pepper sauce that smelled absolutely rancid. I asked her what was on top of my order & she immediately pulled my ticket and shoved it in my face to show me that's exactly what I ordered.... accidents happen woman! I was immediately dismissed & ignored by her. I eventually had to re order & REPAY for my food to be made again without the sauce on top because she was so hostile & unforgiving of my mistake. I understand she may not have the ideal job, or maybe she was even having a bad day, but so was i and her attitude was worse than I imagine the sauce would have been! I left in tears. Closed again today. I pumped gas but the pump would not turn off. Staff inside I pressed the call button and could see the staff return to the counter just to turn the call off.I called cooperate and explained the dilemma. She was very nice and called into the store. Eventually Edgar appeared. After 30 minutes. Poor customer service and condescending attitude. I showed him the pump and after some demonstrative actions from him (I assume for the cameras) he returned inside to turn off the pump. Let's start this conversation off with some good news... This gas station is so amazing they got everything basically what you need if you got a hungry stomach and you need to fill it with something good there wonderful in that department they have a great clean environment and they are on top of the customers needs which is amazing very hard to find in a business. They are definitely going to get a full five stars and if I could I definitely get more but this is not the way the system works so yeah The only problem that this location has is that the lines are way too long in the refrigerated areas if they had more cashiers at the registers There are four registers in this location and they only use two registers which doesn't make any sense because of how popular this location is in Argyle Forest... It would definitely make more sense if all of the registers were open It would definitely make more sense if all of the registers were open during the early hours of the day It would be more convenient if all of the registers were open due to COVID-19 its only because we have to be socially distancing from each other at the time right now... that is not happening because of the lines backed up from the only two registers they're using.... I'd say that would be the only change they would need to work on Also I forgot to mention this in the conversation there are a lot of police officers that hang out and park in the only exit that the gas station has available for people to exit out of to go down old Middleburg Road the police officers that are enjoying their lunch I'm blocking that exit I have kids in the car at some points and people come rushing in there very quickly from using the back exit and I about had gotten head on collision or a side collision because of the police taking up the emergency lanes or parking On the other side of the emergency lane where traffic is supposed to be able to flow if there was a big emergency no one would be able to fix it and it would kill many lives Because the only exit would be the one and are scared and want to survive they would never think of anyone but themselves so that's why they would need to be two exits On the roadway thank you for your time ... read more

Okay, coming in a few days after opening... ugh. Very crowded and the wait times are elevated. Luckily, I ordered ahead, but it took a few moments before the app recognized that I was at the store so it took a little longer than it normally would have taken. Just about every parking spot was taken and there were people everywhere. The Florida Lotto machines haven't been installed, so you will have to stop somewhere else for the time being. I treated my family to Flurricanes for the evening. Siptopia is currently underway, so they are only $2 a piece for a 16 oz. treat at the moment. There is a lot of seating outside and just about all of it was being used. Like I said, busy. i suspect it will be so for a bit longer because of the free coffee and such that comes with Grand Openings. Wawa is has great house brew coffee and definitely checking out their food offerings. They certainly elevate 'gas station" to another level. I like wawa, and waited months for wawa to come to jacksonville. I use the app to order because i dont like waiting and has rewards. I havent had any bad experiences except for a frozen cappuccino not be so frozen, it was more like a cold drink cappuccino. Other than that, the food they offer is great. read more
