After much anticipation and waiting our 2nd WaWa opened in Citrus County. Located on a main road - US HWY 19 on the right hand side not far from the intersection of HWYs 19 and 44, it's a convenient place to stop for gas, food and beverages. It has lots of parking around the entire store including electric docking stations for electric cars in the back! Last time I was there three electric cars were plugged in - how awesome is that to see? It looks like our rural county is making strides to catch up to the 21st century!! WaWa offers many different items for the consumer : various types and flavors of drinks whether it would be hot or cold preference including a drink station for their specialty drinks like smoothies, milkshakes and coffee drinks. Food items are available for everyone's cravings or taste. From packaged snacks to prepared foods that you can pick up and go or to their extensive sandwich and soup menu. Now they're offering a special after 4PM hot dinner menu convenient for those who need something besides fast food or convenience foods. Dinner menu options include hamburgers, pasta options, rotisserie chicken, macaroni and cheese and other hot entrees like pork and chicken. Ordering is easy and efficient through their WaWa app on your phone or if you prefer you can go into the store and order on conveniently placed computers throughout the store which takes your order and prints out your ticket number. You then wait until your number is called, grab your food and drink - pay at the register and go. Simple to do. If you're not sure and need help to get your order their staff is friendly and very willing to help! I've had their Italian hoagie customized with everything I wanted and it was delicious! I chose the Classic sized hoagie which is a 10 inch sandwich. If you're not as hungry you have the options of two other sizes : a Junior hoagie which is 4 inches long - perfect in my opinion for kids or their Shorti hoagie which measures 6 inches. A size for everyone at WaWa! I had their iced coffee with my sandwich and it too was customized to my preference and yummy ! I can't wait to try their after 4 PM meals!! WaWa has been busy every time I stop in. I'm sure everyone is as happy as I am that we now have two locations - one in Lecanto on HWY 491 and now the Crystal River location on US HWY 19! Stop to see the Grand Opening and want that $5 sub but sad to say no $5 subs just a 6" mini sub for $2.99 Very sad about this but what can you do, get one of there great paninis ham & swiss, dill pickle, garlic aioli, honey mustard. Gas was $2.79 cheaper than Homosassa RacTrac. They also have hand dipped shakes for $1.99. Putting another WaWa in Homosassa some where near US 98 & US 19. Service was as good as always. read more

I love Wawa stations but my most recent visit here, the food was disappointing. The tuna sandwich was fine but the bean and rice burrito tasted "off" and I'm pretty sure it was not okay to eat. Service was pretty good (my food was sitting there for several minutes out of reach as employees were talking to each other...I saw my name on the order and asked if I could please have it) and parking was plentiful including for Teslas charging, or I would have dropped the rating lower. read more

You have got to be kidding me. I drove up at 2 o'clock in the morning after visiting my parents to just fill up with gas and was immediately attacked by a group of at least 20 girls, and 20 guys, smoking weed in public and playing rap music out of their cars that made MY entire car shake. I literally became worried about my own safety. They started looking through my car while I was talking to them through my window. They kept asking what I was there for, AT A GAS STATION!!!....while the others asked where I lived. I saw the rest of them doing shots and saying 'F*#k that white B$@*h!!! I tried to check my oil, where I was again, harassed and yelled at for being white. I know Wawa is kinda of a sketchy place between the homeless people, and these type of people, but it looks like a damn club was going on in the parking lot. I didn't even bother filling up with gas. I just got back in the car and left. I can barely text at this point, because I am literally still afraid for my safety. I will never go back to that Wawa again, or any other part of this chain. This was unbelievably unsafe, unreal, disgusting, complete oversight from the Police Department, which is extremely bothersome. My parents live not that far away and at this point, I'm debating on how I'm going to move them away from this element that clearly Wawa wants to keep. I didn't see them buying any gas or spending any money inside the actual store because they brought their own booze to the gas station parking lot. And I suggest, if you're White, please, for your own safety, stay the hell away from this Wawa in particular. If I could give -5 stars, I would. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!! read more

So disgusting - can't believe they serve food here! It's filthy. Used to be a nice road stop, but over past year disintegrated into a chaotic mess that makes Crystal River look bad. Stopped to get some food heard good things, but it was just rumors. No help understanding how to order, pay, or where that needs to happen. The lady in the deli/food area said the wait would be 5-6 mins over the PA. After a 18 minute wait and watching seven door dash people pickup in front of me I finally get my food with many others waiting as well. The food was hideous, so all that for nothing.
