Even though the office was busy when I went, (so plan for that), everything went smoothly and the staff was kind and professional the whole time. It's nice to be greeted by someone with a positive attitude, especially when you're already a little nervous about going in. Sometimes places like this can be intimidating since you don't know what you're walking into but they do a good job of making you feel at ease. Luckily, my score was 0 (perfect) five years ago, and it was time for a recheck. This time, I was referred to Imaging Partners in Orange. I called to schedule an appointment and Elyssa was so friendly and helpful. They had a cancellation and were able to book me only two days out. She took all of my prerequisite information quickly and sent me a link to complete some paperwork online ahead of time. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment and was impressed by their very modern and clean facility. Check-in was a breeze since I completed the forms online ahead of time. I only waited about five minutes and was called back. My tech Khan was very friendly and made everything a breeze. I laid on the bed feet first and he put a few heart electrodes on my chest. The bed raises and slides you into the center of the CT machine. It was not claustrophobic at all, and the CT machine spinning made very little noise. An automated voice instructs you to hold your breath twice for about five seconds, and then again twice for about 15 seconds as the bed slowly moves back and forth through the ring taking images. The process only took about five minutes, and I was in and out of the office in about fifteen minutes. I took the test on a Friday afternoon and the results will be sent to my doctor and posted in their online portal for me to view on Monday. Insurance usually doesn't cover this test, and the cash price was only $200. I had a great experience here, and will look forward to coming back in five years.

Prior I had all my boob; mammograms, ultrasound, MRI at Hoag since the origination of their breast center. Been a patient of Hoag for 35 years. Last year a nodule showed on the boob MRI my OBGYN ordered. All I read was a one liner on the, MY CHART report that didn't explain much except I was to follow up in 1 year. I was concerned all year. The Hoag report had stated a doctor/radiologist discussed the results with me. However, no they never did. My OB is very busy with baby deliveries. I couldn't get an appt until 1/2026. She's exceptional and through so worth the wait. I knew should have scheduled sooner. My bad. Therefore, went to another Doc I knew in past to obtain authorization for the scans. This time I went to Newport Diagnostics for all my boob scans. They were all performed in one morning. Prior I had mentioned to a couple people that I was looking for more "personal attention" since a nodule was found at Hoag (MRI) last year. After all the scans I was kinda left in limbo reading my own report on MY CHART. Anyway, I was referred to Newport Diagnostics. Why I wanted to write a good Yelp review: After the Newport Diagnostics Doctor review all the scans I received a detailed voice mail going over everything. The Dr. reviewed my prior Hoag Disk scans that I dropped off and also advised of the new results. Basically, I worried all year for nothing. I'm grateful for the call from a true Doctor follow-up and in detail :) HEADS UP; You might need to pick up your prior breast scans from Hoag by asking them to scan on a disk. When Hoag electronically forwarded the file was corrupted. Therefore, Newport Diagnostics couldn't obtain my prior results to compare. This also happened when a Cardiologist at Cleveland Clinic tried to obtain my Hoag records as well. They were unable to obtain. I needed to have massive disks scanned and send myself. Just a heads up; It was worth the TIME going to Hoag Irvine records office (not Newport as too busy) to have them burn the disks and deliver to Newport Diagnostics. Truly appreciate the more personal services with an actual follow-up phone call in detail. And, they were nice too and fun to speak with. Workers there for a long time. See ya, next year.

The latest cancellation came at the last minute, with staff telling me the radiologist had an emergency. My doctor was then given a different explanation: the machine was missing a coil and they were waiting for a part. These conflicting explanations have left me with very little confidence in their communication. Worse, I was told I had to rebook the appointment myself, and the next available appointment was three months away. Why is a patient whose biopsy has been cancelled twice by the facility sent to the back of the line? It has already been almost six months since my original referral without a biopsy. By the next available appointment, it will be almost eight months since I initially scheduled. This is a breast biopsy--not a routine appointment that can simply be pushed back repeatedly without concern for the patient waiting for answers. I understand that emergencies and equipment problems happen. What I cannot accept is being left to start the scheduling process over myself, with another three-month delay and no meaningful help securing an earlier appointment. Despite having PPO insurance, I am now considering paying out of pocket elsewhere just to get this done. The anxiety, frustration, and loss of trust this has caused are enormous. Patients awaiting a breast biopsy deserve clear communication, urgency, and support. My experience here has fallen far short of that.
