Incredibly unhappy with Wave. I heard nothing but positive reviews about them and was happy to move into a building that has Wave as an option. After 2 weeks with the service, it has been a huge headache. It started with only getting 1/10th of the internet speed I was supposed to be getting and have been paying for, resulting in a technician to come out. While the speed was improved, within hours, I lost all internet connection and a technician could not come back out until 12-4pm the following day. Myself and my boyfriend lost nearly an entire day of work with no other options. Another tech came, did not even come into the apartment, and did something (who knows, he couldn't explain it) and again within hours, the internet dropped again. I have been on 25-40min wait times every time to speak with someone and have received disrespectful and unhelpful service, a lack of timely resolution for an on-going problem, a non-existent system to expedite the same ongoing problem, blame shifting to my brand new equipment that worked great until Wave's tech came out the first time, and an abrupt conversation end when their representative decided he no longer wanted to discuss the problem. I still do not have internet and we both are losing another day of work. If I want to receive my credit for loss of service and, who knows if I'd be credited for the lack of internet speed I'd been paying for, I have to call back again and wait on hold for another 25-40mins. My last call was today, May 22, 2020 at 10:02am PST with nearly 30 minutes of wait time. This call was by far the worst representative. We will be cancelling. read more

Do not waste your time with wave, seriously. I scheduled an appointment with them to get Internet in my new apartment for Monday, from 4-6 pm. After waiting till 7, i received a phone call that they would be here shortly. They never showed up. Tried calling the customer support line multiple times and was put on hold for 30+ minutes without ever getting to a human. Next day after waiting 30 minutes on hold I was connected with a human (finally). He told me that the earliest is that they could get someone out was Thursday (after failing to show up on Monday). Wow, how are these guys still in business. If you have an issue plan on being on the phone for a minimum of 1 hr. They'll talk to you and take a bunch of notes and not do anything. If I could go no stars I would. They will try to catch you with catchy ads. unlimited internet is really not unlimited.. if you don't watch your bills closely they will jack them up a little every couple of months and tack on extra fees.. Kind of like a thief trying to steal an extra 20 here and there. Not really dishonest...just enough above board to be legal.. You call they move them down for a couple months then back up again.. to see if your watching. You go to cancel and they will tack on extra fees and such.. they actually are trying to charge us almost more for just internet the last month we had service (we did not even use that but a mix up occurred and we were told by our new provider the old one would be cancelled..with our phone...) then we were paying for BOTH phone and internet and it was not even a full month. This company seriously lacks ethics, morals, and customer service a supervisor actually yelled at my husband because he disputed the bill. .. talk about rude. Wave's billing procedures are setup in such a way as to accumulate as many late fees as possible. The company is far more interested in nickel and diming their customers than actually providing a usable service. Even after the service is cancelled they will continue to attempt to get more money from the customer by making it as difficult as possible to return equipment then charging extraordinary amounts of money for the equipment. Reaching out to their 'customer service' is a huge paint. They are always experiencing higher than normal request. I've tried different time slots, work days, weekends, mornings, evenings and wasted a lot of time waiting on the line. I got Wave years ago and for years they were great! A good, local, reasonably priced, and fast ISP. One of those businesses that you recommend to everyone and I did just that. I would tell everyone to get them. In general, during those years their service was great. I had a few small questions throughout the years and help was easy from tech-savvy, local, real people. Unfortunately, we moved from one Wave serviced building to another and that's where I now see the problems they have. Customer service currently at this company is terrible almost to the point of being dangerous or criminal. The Wave of old was great, but the current Wave is a disaster. This is why you see the mixed reviews. TLDR: -Call wait times is hours -Call in support has little to NO technical understanding -Call in support all say conflicting things to get you off the phone, little of the information we were told was true. You cannot trust anything you are told by their staff. -Support cannot actually help you, they simply create a service ticket. -Guaranteed Appointments are anything but. They WILL no show, cancel your service with no contact, or close your service with no notice. -Each of the companies logos you see on the website are different groups (I believe from different companies they have acquired) None of these companies can talk to each other. -Once you finally reach a service person on the phone they have less info than the automated voice assistant. The voice assistant has account info from your phone number and some info. The service team has to look this up every time. Full info: We scheduled a move several days early so that there would be no service interruptions as having access to the internet was critical with working remote and COVID. First, our original service was canceled and cut off days early. Leaving us totally stranded with no communication. Next, we called in. Call in times currently are hours to even speak with someone. I spent 3 hours on the phone with them. No help. Missed an entire day of work dealing with this. Every single person we talked to told us something different. While they were nice, it's clear that most have NO technical knowledge what so ever. In addition, they cant actually DO anything. They simply apologize "for the inconvenience" and create "a ticket". They were unable to restore our original service at our old building or set up the new service. The next day was our move-in appointment for the tech to come and set up the internet. We had a guaranteed appointment from 12-4pm. We received a confirmation call the night before. NO ONE showed up. We sat there all day desperate for internet access. NO SHOW, NO COMMUNICATION. Called in, it took an hour to get someone. They simply told us it had been canceled. No info. Talked to a supervisor. He was rude to talk to, repeated the hallow "Sorry for the inconvenience", did even less to actually do anything. Next, we created an "emergency service request for a full day appointment". All day means 8am-8pm. Not all day helping you but that they will arrive SOMETIME between 8am-8pm. Yeah, you read that right! You get to sit all day waiting for an appointment. Once again we received the confirmation call. Service was "guaranteed". Sat around all day waiting. ONCE AGAIN NO SHOW. NO COMMUNICATION. NO CONTACT. Calling in again the auto voice system now says "your appointment was completed". No one ever came and we are still without service. At this point Im close to being fired from my career for not showing up to work for 2 days. I'm furious. We are paying for the internet. They definitely collected my money. Call in again and it takes hours. Once again "Sorry for the inconvenience. We will create a new service request. It's guaranteed.". At this point, it almost seems like a joke. I'm beyond furious, I'm in jeopardy of losing your job for not working for 2 days, calling results in sitting on hold for hours then once you finally get someone they tell you conflicting information and just try to get you off the line to pass you onto someone else. Once we got service, it worked well. The flexibility of adding a pro-rated expensive sports TV package for just the weekend is appreciated. But TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The customer service reps are very nice. But I have CONSISTENTLY waited over an HOUR on hold to adjust my account. After the adjustment, one more question arose (how to complete electronic payment set-up), and I was sent back to the customer "help" phone number. another hour-plus wait time! Setting up My Wave electronic payment is archaic; you can't set it up until you get a bill with a PIN on it, but you don't get a bill right away, so you have to wait for a paper bill before you can pay electronically. What? That just doesn't make sense. TIP: start with the chat function, it saves time waiting on hold. But you might not be able to get what you need with chat. read more

Been stuck (I have no other option) with Wave for 16 years. Yes, 16 years. I spent 20 mins on hold trying to get internet data limit upgraded. Finally gave up. Called another day, waited 40 mins, finally gave up. I emailed them saying I've waited on hold for over an hour now trying to give them more business (which they wouldn't get if I had another option). They replied back several days later saying "Call us, we'll take care of you" Gave the same phone number I've spent an hour on hold with. OK. I am currently speaking with "Morgan" and it has been 49 mins. He just told me they're more busy today because they are closed on Sundays (which they aren't). Kept changing our amounts due on my 89 year old mother to get basic cable and made me call every month and wait in cue for more than 30 minutes (gave up, never got connected several times). The service was great was for the first 3 months I had it and then began the monthly price hikes. I went from paying about $55 per month to paying more than $70 per month in the span of 5 months because of "fees" that they could never explain. In addition, after a few months of service my wifi began acting up and now I have to turn the router off and on every other week or so to get my wifi back up and working. This company overcharges for subpar service and the cost for tv alone is insane. If my apartment didn't require me to use this company I would have gone with someone else. Absolute trash internet. My 4g is faster than it and we are constantly having to reset it since usually only half of the household can actually use the internet and the rest are disconnected. I moved from Wave area and returned all equipment as asked for. Approx 1 month later I received a noticed that I had a piece of their equipment which I did not have. I had made multiple calls to Wave (which often had wait times over 1 hour) to speak with someone. I was always reassured that the issue would be resolved. It was never resolved. I made over 6 phone calls and each time they agreed to resolve until I finally received a notice from a collection agency! After speaking with a supervisor at Wave who would not back down I went ahead and paid the EXTORTION fee of $120 for equipment that I did not have of theirs. If at all possible avoid using WAVE. I am very happy with the installation and it was very quick since there was already a connection at my apartment. Connection speed seems reliable and fast. We've had wave for 3 months now. I've had a great experience with them so far. (Bremerton area) Pros: No long-term contract Good promotional prices Fast speed (when it works) Great customer service Cons: Spotty service for the first few days after they installed the modem Maybe once or twice a month it goes out for a little while Our installation guy sucked. He signed us up for internet+cable bundle, even though I just requested internet, we didn't have a tv, and he didn't even install a cable box. He also said he was going to sign us up for auto-payments on the phone, then when he arrived he said I would need to call and do it. We filed a complaint against him, got a full refund on all the cable fees, and got a discount on top of the promotional price we're paying. You need to be a smart consumer with them, just like any other company. Look at your bill each month and let them know if they charged you for something they shouldn't have. Ask when the promotions expire, because you can just call in and request to be switched to a new promotional price when your promotion ends (that way you avoid paying full price). Remember that they are a company, and they want to make a profit, so look out for yourself and you should be fine. read more

Their promotion with a $100 visa card is totally a scam! they are attracting customer with the card but it won't be delivered to you ever! I have confirmed with at least 3 agents if I am eligible for the card and all of them double checked and confirmed I am eligible every time I contacted them. After the qualification period of 90 days, they just changed their words that I am not eligible making all kinds of reasons. First, they said my payment was late in the second month, which I put it on automatic payment. They charge late fees strictly if the payment is late, but they did not even charge the late fee because my payment was on time with automatic payment in their system. Now they are saying my internet service was started earlier than their promotion period. Then why all of their agents told me that there will be no issues getting the visa card? They trained their agents with fake info or they only hire liars. They have all the records of chatting and calls. They don't deny their agents told me that the visa card will be delivered on time but they just don't want to give it when it is time to keep what they promised. Just wasted an hour on hold waiting to talk to someone about the lousy service. We pay for 250 Mb/sec internet service, but can't stream a movie because it constantly stops. They say there's nothing wrong because the speed is okay, but it's not possible to watch a movie. They need to fix it or quit deceiving customers with false claims about their service. read more

Buyer beware! You'll sign up and pay for a bundle of channels and Wave will slowly and secretly remove channels a few at a time without your knowledge. You'll go to watch the same channel you were watching the evening prior just to find out it's no longer available. When you call to inquire about your service you're told they've switched the bundles around and you can add the new bundle (for an additional fee) to get the channel you had back. But without warning, I was suddenly charged over $150 a month for basic cable and internet. Sure, the agent I spoke with kindly agreed to reset my rate to ~$100, but didn't offer to refund the usurious fees that were charged the previous two months. Couldn't wait to dump WAVE. Wave is the worst! I've called 2 months in a row because of incorrect charges on my bill. They sent me a bill for $174 (after removing $30 for service I was not supposed to pay because I paid up front for tyvo installation.) Now they say the bill was $314. The $30 had not been removed and I was charged a late fee. Wave charges too much for too little. Poor customer service. I have to review my bill carefully every month. I'm consistently being overcharged. Most CSRs are rude and not knowledgeable about billing or services. Hopefully soon there will be a better option. I use streaming services but those alone do not provide all my viewing needs. Based on what I've read all cable companies are horrible. Direct TV is not an option for me. This is my first review as I solely signed up for yelp just to tell you the truth about wave broadband. Terrible provider for any service for multiple reasons. To begin, sign up was a breeze but the experience of being a customer after they've caught you is completely opposite. Looking back I feel like a fish who got caught swimming up stream. They also add an extra "bundle fee" even if you don't bundle services. They justify this by saying the equipment plus my internet is a bundle haha WHAT!. To be clear the only service they provide me with is internet data. How is that a "Bundle"?. While trying to clear up all this nonsense I soon found out their customer service is the worst experience if ever encountered when dealing with any customer service rep, and its been the same way with all five encounters. The chat option was even worse. They're very rude and show no respect for other human beings. I was a little sympathetic considering they probably have to work under terrible management as the company as a whole is equally just as bad. And overages are outrageous! All in all the data service is terrible, the customer service is as bad or even worse, the service is the most expensive compared to other providers and last but not least they are very deceitful. (just read other reviews). For current customers: Maybe your experience was better or at least I hope it is/was. Most useless service provider I have ever came across. Their customer service and technical support is also really very bad. Speed is also very low. Worst part is that for anything and everything they point it as customer's fault. I proved to them that there was some problem going on with their data collection and usage patter and they coolly pushed the problem to me saying it is problem with my modem.
