Unacceptably BAD Service - They Didn't Make a Mistake Right. Waugh Chapel Towing and Auto (WCTNA, nonresponsive by email at WCTNauto@yahoo.com) made a mistake when servicing my car. Hey, that's not the end of the world! Occasionally, even the best must clean up a mess. However, when a service provider fixes a problem (my car's back brakes), causes another (drains my battery because of poor handling of my car), then does not solve the second problem they caused, that is just Unacceptably BAD Service. Here's the whole story. Last year (2018), I needed a new alternator for my 2005 Saturn L300. I got a really good deal from WCTNA, and the alternator still works fine. So, when my brakes needed attention, I gladly drove ten minutes past many other Mechanic Shops back to WCTNA. Again, they replaced my brakes at a good price, and I found later that they work fine. I picked up the key and walked out to my car. Surprisingly and sadly, my car's battery had been drained! Somehow, while WCTNA had my car, they had forgotten to check the vehicle's electrical system. Was the interior dome light left on? Were the headlights shining? I don't know, but my car wouldn't start. Again, this mistake alone would not keep me from returning. However, that all changed when WCTNA didn't clean up the mess they made. Instead of admitting that their poor stwardship of my vehicle led to damaging my battery, they failed by only offering to "jump" (recharge) the car's battery. Then, after hearing my concern, they... failed. They did not offer a lower price for a replacement battery. They did not even respond to my communication by email. Wait, actually, when I called back, their receptionist let me know -- "The boss says your battery was on its last leg anyway," so they suggested I buy a full new battery AND pay full price for installation. WOW, WCTNA. You made no effort to find a middle ground: no offer of a discount on my (yes, a couple years old) battery (but certainly good enough to jump my car every day without problem). You could have offered to pay for installation. Yet, you did nothing but tell me your mistake deserved no restitution to me. So, to Anne Arundel County residents, take my advice. Don't waste your money or time with WCTNA. Who knows? Maybe they will see this message. Maybe they will earn another opportunity to serve me better. In the meantime, I certainly will find some other mechanic in Crofton, Gambrills, or Bowie to help me. There are many Car Service Providers near me, so I will check their online reviews before using them! read more

Keith has been repairing our family vehicles for years and years. Service is honest and Fair. Will invite you into the bay areas to show you the problems. I think the people who write the bad reviews do this as a hobby or other motives. Probably find something wrong no matter what they are reviewing. No communication between employees. No communication about parts ordered. Car sat for four days and was dented in the parking lot while they had it. Would not recommend taking your car here. Keith usually seems to do pretty good work but its not guaranteed he will be the one working on your car and I honestly wouldn't trust the rest of the staff to do the work. read more

Keith is the man!!!!!!! I was driving home one night took to sharp of a turn, a deer hopped out and I hit into a stone mail box trying to swerve. Called Keith to get a tow truck. The tow truck was there in a timely matter (they are located in AA county I was in Calvert county) . I heard from Keith in the morning they had my car up and running and they recommended a body shop that could get the body work fixed that was needed on my car (half my bumper was missing) didn't over charge me at all. Then the shop manager "Keith" said it did not matter and WAIGH CHAPEL TOWING "has a lot of customers so we generally DONT CALL IF ITS BELOW $200" My car broke down and would not start so I had to insurance company tow it to Waugh Chapel Towing, and from there on it was a mistake. I called them hours later confirming my car was there after not hearing from them that my car arrived. When I called, asking when they were going to start looking at my car, the lady began to tell me the shop was currently looking at my car and thought it was possibly "problem A". So she said that she would give me a call when they were done and had a definite answer, ( I confirmed it twice that she would definitely give me a call when they knew what was wrong) I don't hear from her until I get a call 2 days later and they state "your car is done". They DID NOT call to tell me what was wrong with my car. They DID NOT call to get my permission to work on my car. They DID NOT call me to tell me the price of the work. They called me saying it was done and it would be two hundred and something dollars. WHAT. Then the shop manager "Keith" said it did not matter and Waugh Chapel Towing "has a lot of customers so we generally don't call if it's below $200". I was absolutely baffled by this comment and I will never take my car there again. The only option Keith gave me was for them to AGAIN work on my car and take out the part they put in WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. Then they lost a tool or something and called me a bunch to ask if I had the tool. You couldn't call to tell me about my car? But you can call when it's about your tool? They just don't care about anybody, they just want your money and for you to get out. read more

Just had my MD inspection done here and highly recommend them. They found two issues but gave me great recommendations on where to have them fixed. Reinspection was quick, painless, and free. HORRIBLE. I made an appointment for an inspection AND oil change (mainly for oil change my car was past due). I dropped my car off overnight because mine was supposed to be the "first one done". I called at 9:30, 11:30, 2:00.. my car has still not been completed. I finally went in at 5, with NO phone call from them to see if my car was finished. My car was done and she gave me my bill and THEY NEVER DID MY OIL CHANGE. She first tried blaming ME for not telling them to do it (do they not write down a list of services that need to be completed for a client??) and finally stated "they forgot to do it". Very unprofessional and TERRIBLE service. This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. read more

Absolutely horrible. there is absolutely no communication between the shop and the customer. they will do work on your car and not confirm how much it is or anything they will just call and say it's fixed unknowing what was even wrong to being with. if I could give zero stars I would absolutely horrible I strongly recommend never get a tow and ANY kind of work done here read more

So...if you want great customer service when setting up an appointment to have your car towed, or you want the company to show up on time, then this company is for you. If you actually want the company to take your car and tow it to your selected location, then you may wish to seek an alternate company. After the tow truck company showed up this morning and was getting ready to put my vehicle on the flat bed, the tow truck driver suddenly packed up and started to leave. He gave me a courtesy call as I was watching him through the front door (it was raining, but a face-to-face explanation would have been nice) and told me he had received a police call and had to respond to the scene of an accident. He told me he could come back after dealing with that situation, but given that I had intentionally called the day before to set up a specific time for the tow truck to arrive to ensure that my vehicle got to the mechanic by 8am, waiting around for this guy to return was not an option. I called another company that came out and towed me to the shop. Unfortunately, even with the other company's responsiveness, we still did not arrive to the shop by 8am, which has resulted in my vehicle being held at the shop until Monday when they can finish things up. I learned from the other company that lack of staffing results in situations like the one I experienced. The company that ultimately towed my car was not only cheaper, more responsive, and trustworthy, but they are fully staffed to handle calls that come in from the general public AND the police. Bottom line--don't use this company unless you are comfortable with sitting around all day waiting until it's convenient for them to take your vehicle where you need it to go. read more

Very bad experience. My window was 1 to 130 and they texted at 1235 be there in ten minutes and I said I will be there at one and my ride was there at 1255. They lied and said they waited an hour they never showed up. It's 130 in the morning and now my insurance is calling another towing company. I will make sure USAA knows how dishonest they are. read more
