Upon checking we discovered that this long time, local company had been sold to a national company/fund which acquires and then operates smaller local companies. We decided to obtain a second quote and Daniel from Hamstra spent 3 hours checking the systems and concluded it was in good working condition. We just signed up for a service plan with Hamstra and will be using them in the future. In our opinion the consumer needs to beware of upselling and if you question a quote obtain a second opinion.

We felt terrible that he had to work in that kind of heat, but he was incredibly hardworking, and had such a positive attitude throughout the visit. We truly appreciate the peace of mind the maintenance program provides and would definitely recommend them!

While their pricing was among the lower quotes we received, their after-sale service has been deplorable. Unfortunately, our experience has been that they simply do not stand behind their work. We had three legitimate issues with one of the systems they installed. Rather than taking responsibility and addressing them, the responses we received were essentially: 1) fix it ourselves, 2) live with the problem, or 3) pay them additional money to come out and investigate it. These were issues with a newly installed system--not an old unit we were asking them to troubleshoot. What was particularly disappointing was the way we were treated when calling the office. The service staff was extremely rude and dismissive, and we were told we would need to pay for service that we reasonably believed should have been covered as warranty-related work. When you're spending more than $40,000, the company you choose matters just as much after the installation as it does when they're trying to earn your business. In hindsight, I wish we had paid more and chosen a more reputable company that stands behind its installations and values its customers after the check has cleared. If you're considering Cool Breeze because their quote is competitive, I strongly recommend reading the other negative reviews before making your decision. Based on our experience, those customers are not making this up.

The unit that needed to be replaced was only 1.5 years old but was unfortuntately installed incorrectly by our contractor, whom we parted ways with for his incompetence. It's been over month since we replaced the unit and we haven't had any issues.

Gabe is the Reason I'll Always Stay a Customer…read more Years ago, B&J Refrigeration earned my loyalty for life. One of their techs (coincidentally working next door) noticed I was having issues with my AC and offered to take a look. Turns out, a rattlesnake had crawled in, eaten a rat, died inside the unit, and the rat had chewed through some wiring. He diagnosed and fixed it on the spot -- that kind of service you just don't forget. Since then, Gabe has become my go-to technician. He's honest, sharp, and thorough. Every time he comes out, he brings not just professionalism, but solutions. I even had him service my commercial office in Tucson for years. Simply put: as long as Gabe works at B&J, I'll be a customer. Most recently, I had an issue resurface that Gabe had previously warned me to keep an eye on. When it came up again, I followed his guidance and isolated the cause -- a bad fan motor. When I called to schedule, I did hit some friction with the office (not everyone appreciates a homeowner diagnosing a problem, even one with engineering and patent experience). That part was frustrating. But thankfully, Gabe followed through, confirmed everything I suspected, and had the parts on hand to get me back up and running quickly. The company is lucky to have someone like Gabe -- people like him are the reason customers stick around, not policies or scripts. Thank you, Gabe, for always being the guy I can count on.

He found a couple of corroded wires which he replaced at no additional charge and also made sure that the evaporator condensate drain line was clear and flowing properly. In the end he recommended that we not replace the unit as it was running well within manufacturers specifications. He recommended that we run it until it dies. I didn't particularly like the guy with his up sell as to me needing some sort of sanitizing light in the blower cavity for mold. The estimate was way over the top! Then the summer visit came yesterday and don't know where the communication breakdown came but when i talked to the scheduler a couple of months ago and made the appointment, I immediately documented it in my Google calendar. Well, yesterday's appointment was to be between 8 and 10 AM. Then 10 AM came and went, and so did 10:30 and 11:00 AM. I called at 11:30 and was told that my appointment was late afternoon.
