We recently moved into a house which started off amazing with Watson Realty. Susan Blanza was our real estate agent and she was wonderful. We were actually referred by several people that knew her; however, towards the end as we started to close she was flaky. She never responded in a timely manner and most days she would ignore our calls. Calls were ignored as we do know that the cellphone is glued to her hand as we have witnessed it every time we have met w her. We purchased a used home and the sellers were also utilizing Watson to sell their home (****conflict of interest****). We had put our 30 day notice at our apartment complex and as it got closer to the end of our deal, a week prior we were told that the sellers were not able to move out due to some issues they were dealing w. We have 2 kids and so it becomes difficult at this time to go and make arrangements elsewhere. My husband and I were very stressed and worried about where we may live. My real estate agent Susan who finally called us back stated to us.. "If you continue to push the sellers from moving out of their house then they will back out and not sell their home to you". Prior to all of these things being said.. we agreed to pay their closing costs in FULL and we agreed to delay escrow to 60 days to help the sellers move out peacefully. The sellers were very selfish and didnt care that our family would be homeless, but that's not what really annoyed us. What annoyed is towards the end, our real estate agent only supported us til she pretty much got her percentage and deal and didnt care where we stood. We were and still are very disappointed for being referred to Susan as we were told she was very personal and caring. I will never refer anyone to Watson because of this situation. read more

I cannot rate this company as whole. However, I spoke with agent Ronda Newport on 2/13 which happened to be Super Bowl Sunday and she was extremely unprofessional. I do respect that it was the weekend and it was Sunday morning, but to respond to a potential buyer with "I'm preparing for a Super Bowl party right now so I'm busy what is it that you want because I already have lots of offers." When I had already explained that I apologize for calling and that, when she was available, I'd like to view the listing and make an offer. Overall, the conversation was very uncomfortable, she was very rude and I would not recommend working with her. If she was busy I would've been glad to leave her a voicemail rather than receive a backlash due to stress or whatever the case may have been. read more

They aren't perfect but they're the best i've ever had PROS: 1. Gave almost my full security deposit back (huge deal). 2. Maintenance fixed all of our move in related repairs very quickly. 3. Nice people for the most part 4. They leave you alone after the move in. CONS: 1. Getting in touch with these guys for a maintenance issue after move in can be rough, and there are things that they will just refuse to fix and tell you to do. 2. The girl we had was pretty rough around the edges, didn't smile much and she was our main contact for problems. She didn't really seem like she wanted to help which is kind of her job. I'd say definitely rent from these guys but write down EVERYTHING you may have a problem with before you move in because that's when they'll fix it. I hate all these yelp reviews that say "the people were meeeaaan :,(" grow up you're an adult people need real advice. read more

I was hesitant to use Watson, as they represented the sellers whom we purchased the home from over 25 years earlier. MARY CHRISTENSON CalDRE #00818891 was the realtor at the time, and she made some very underhanded moves during the process. One in particular was planting trees in the front yard (pots and all) for show purposes, which she then uprooted after escrow and hauled away. Another dirty deed was agreeing to pay the regular gardener (who had tended to the landscape for years) to perform the yard work while the house was on the market. When the house sold, she reneged and tried the rob the man of his pay. After a lengthy verbal battle and threats to take her to small claims court, she finally paid the man! Such sneaky pettiness! But Brandon turned that all around and put my trust back in Watson Realty. He's a man of his word and someone you can count on. Being a Bakersfield native I've always equated Watson Realty's name with first-rate service. Unfortunately, I've never dealt with the company personally until yesterday when I called to inquire about a property for rent. The receptionist was very short with me on the phone, had zero information to contribute when I asked basic questions, then ended the call with the statement that I could come to their office, pay $20, and check out a key. So, giving her the benefit of the doubt as it was her "Monday" after a 3 day holiday, my daughter and I made the trek today to Watson's offices. The same receptionist was just short of being rude, was not clear about the process to view the property and when I finally pushed her for answers she was totally put out at having to make a phone call to clarify her unclear response to my question. My daughter and I then drove back across town to view the property and suffice to say it was not what we were expecting. The grounds were amazing, the building exterior was charming, but the interior was one step up from what used to be called a "flop house". The square footage being advertised was short by over 200' and the building was in total disrepair. Being sorely disappointed we made the trip back to Watson's offices and was relieved to find that the receptionist I had dealt with previously was gone. Instead, the other receptionist was talking with another person about...you guessed it... a complaint of poor customer service! Needless to say, I collected my $20, left and hope I'm never in a position to deal with this company again. Renters are a property management company's bread and butter. Without them, the property owner doesn't get paid hence the property management company doesn't make their percentage. Some of the rudest, most incompetent people I have ever dealt with. My fiance and I rented a property from them a few months back, and upon signing our lease, we discovered our property had been vandalized. Upon discovering this, my fiance and I contacted Watson to let them know what happened and to report our issues. Was told we would hear back from the owner shortly, and after we waited for an hour without nothing happening, we called back. I was forwarded to a woman named Callie who is the absolute rudest, unfriendly bitches I have ever met. She had an attitude from the start, was rude the whole conversation, suggested we broke into our own house, and argued with me at every turn. I can only assume that if she is that rude and dislikeable over the phone, that she is probably a very shitty worker and individual in person. Very disappointed in their customer service but she and the whole office needs an attitude check, being rude to your customers wont get you very far as a business. read more

We just rented an apartment through Watson realty. The apartment wasn't ready to move in even though we were told that it was inspected by Katie. Only the walls were painted and new flooring throughout. Everything else was very filthy, old pizza slices on a patio, kitchen sink clogged, washing machine wasn't working, the stove and oven were inhumanly filthy, and only 2 filthy rusty burners out of 4 (which were piled on stove top) were working, garage opener broken, etc. etc. On a bright side I got a new t-shirt from one of the "inspected" closets. :) We were contacting April about all the non-working items, we even went to the office to speak to her because we didn't get a reply to our email. When the receptionist called April, she said she was on the phone with a mortgage company and we needed to make an appointment to come again because she was too busy to speak with us. After we insisted, she eventually showed up showing undeserved disrespect throughout the whole conversation. She was aggressive in letting us know that we have no rights to expect any response to our requests. The Plummer will be contacting us in the next 72 hours. Meanwhile it's been a week since we moved in, been busy cleaning our "move in ready" apartment, can't cook, do laundry, or wash dishes - which is probably ok, because we can't cook anyway. :) Very bad customer service here. After about a dozen problems in just three months, the last straw was when I learned they had never paid the lawn care service, who called me asking for payment because they could not get a response from Watson. Ok then, we'll wait another hour. Another hour passes....then we wait another 30 or so minutes past that to find out that she's too tired now and wants to reschedule another day. Let me sum this up. We arrange a day and time out of our busy schedules to meet and Ms. Christenson has us sitting there for over TWO hours without ever ONCE calling us to let us know she will be late and then cancels on us. If we didn't call her, who knows how long she was going to let us just sit there and waste our time waiting for her?! My mother was selling her house, in the middle of it all she became terminally ill and was hospitalized. Watson said they would take care of everything. Sure, they took care of all her furnishings, and items in the WHOLE HOUSE!!. The neighbor was there when Watson hired a cleaning crew to get the house ready and move all the belongings in the garage. The neighbor said the next day the same truck that was moving and cleaning the house, packed up everything and drove off twice! Our neighbor asked the cleaning crew where they were taking it and said to storage. We called Watson and made a police report as everything was gone!! Watson claimed they don't put things in storage. Also,the cleaning company signed a letter stating they didn't take anything and the detectives left it at that!! Even with a witness these crooks still got away with taking everything from a furnished 4 bedroom house. All of our personal possessions and family pictures GONE!! read more

Avoid this place. Decided to sell my home and worked with Watson Realty. The realtor didn't seem to do much to sell my home, other than asking me to reduce the selling price several times. He never made any attempts to update me. I frequently asked for updates and feedback from those viewing my home. He finally asked the other agents for feedback and said none of them got back with him. He doesn't even have a good enough rapport with other agents to get a response. During one showing someone brought in a dog that pissed in 2 of my rooms. I was left to fit the cleaning bill. The realtor complained about the smoke detectors chirping due to a low battery and I coincidentally found the breaker to them turned off. At that same time the breaker to the master bedroom completely went out. I tried contacting several people from Watson, including the general manager to no avail. I ended up withdrawing the listing. The realtor met me and was less than friendly; his only concern was getting back the folding chair he left at my house. I signed the withdrawal forms on 2/8/16, and was told I would receive a follow up call from a manager the next day. Two days later and no call. This agency is terrible with a complete lack of customer service. read more

I was treated very poorly by the receptionist at the Camino Media location. She spoke down to me, acted annoyed by my very presence there and then totally changed her attitude to be friendly only when a senior employee walked up to ask me about my kids. If you are going to inconvenience people by having them drive over without knowing if the keys for the specific property you want to see are available in order to view your rentals, at the very least you can be kind and professional. I dared ask if she could just call me when the keys were returned since I live literally 2 minutes from their office (and can't keep driving to their office since I have 5mo old twins to pack up each time) and she looked at me like I was crazy to request that. yes good afternoon my name is Cheryl Long and I went into this company and use them to do my escrow work on a property that I sold and it closed escrow through Chicago Title December 27th they had to have my husband husband durable power of attorney whichhe has Alzheimer's due to the fact June 11th of 2017 he fell and fractured his hip and he has a A-Rod and three pins upon getting into the escrow the title company requested the original copy of my durable power of attorney over my husband so I gave it to him very reluctantly and I asked if I could have at least a copy well they have lost the paperwork they can't find it they said it's going to take him they don't know how long and they would get back to me while they never called me back I called them yet again and they was a lady by the name of Nora who is over the central California escrow she is the associate secretary from the father company Watson Realty and she told me yet again that it would take days or weeks for them to get an idea where my information and she informed me that I could order a certified copy from Sacramento of my husband DPA I said you mean you will order a copy of my husband DPA of certified copy so she said no we can't do that because we didn't have there was no money left in the house account to cover that and I said so you're telling me that you lost all my paperwork my original durable power of attorney which I cannot get back because of my husband and his Progressive Alzheimer's and she said yes you will have to order that on your own and I said well I don't think so I'm going to call and attorney I said thank you very much for your help so far which is nothing and I hung up all I'm saying is people please do not use these people Watson Realty Chicago Title and central California escrow and I'm going to put this on all of the other two businesses and I will be going to the Better Business Bureau on top of everything else thank you and have a very nice day. read more
