Was referred to McKeel's Auto Service here in Memphis at 862 Bartlett Rd. Called to get a quote for a new Starter, $380 also $23.90 for gasket. While it was there I ask the price for an oil change? 8 quarts $64.90 and filter$9.50. I O.K.'d the job and was called and it was ready the same day. Went to pick up the car and was given a bill of $827.50 Paid and drove home. Wife got in the car to go to work the next morning and come to find out the control panel, which is on the driver's side door didn't work. When I called them to ask what was wrong and was told they had to undo a lot of stuff to put the new starter in.(evidently they left something undone.?) and was told it would have to be taken to the Dealer. Now the car is a "Safety Hazard" as the windows and door locks don't work from the drivers side. I only have a 2 year college education but my figures ($478.30) don't come close to what I was charged. Everything worked before it went in, now there is this new problem. I know labor had to be added but don't think it should be so extreme. As for a referral, I wouldn't have these 2 old men repair a Bicycle. AM I right or wrong ?

The parts were delayed in shipping I was told however rock auto sell OEM parts for $104 plus shipping. I don't mind paying more if I get a speedy repair. This was a slow leak they could have asked for a deposit, and when the parts came in do the repair. Note that we requested stop coolant leak, stop power steering leak, check ac system. They ordered the radiator hoses and nothing else. At the rate they were performing service the vehicle would have been there easily another 2 weeks... waiting on parts and whatever else. This was the second time my wife took a vehicle there, tried to give them the benefit of a doubt. I am no longer seeing this as a viable option for my vehicle maintenance. I weld for a living and don't have a shop, at the rate this is going I'll be better off working on my own vehicles. Most people don't have spare vehicles sitting around, 2 weeks without a vehicle is rough. Especially when it's something someone could do in half a days time with minimal experience. Was my wife's idea to use them, truck is working.

I will never take my car anywhere else! The problem with my car: I have a 2012 Honda Accord EX-L that I bought off Facebook Marketplace back in June. It seemed fine at first--just needed some basic maintenance and an oil change--but a couple of months later, I started noticing it was idling rough and the RPMs were revving higher than normal. Eventually, the check engine light came on with a code for the mass airflow sensor. I had that replaced, but the problem continued. I had a couple of mechanics look at my car and none of them could fix the problem. That's when I took it to Todd, and I'm so thankful I did. He not only fixed the issue but went above and beyond to make sure my car was running smoothly again. It's such a relief to find a mechanic who's both knowledgeable and truly honest. i am actually surprised that the labor cost wasn't higher. Charged two labor amounts for the same job and did not even repair the brake warning lights on the dash and ended up telling me that my car needed new ABS sensors. This place is highly unprofessional and my advice is to avoid conducting business with such unprofessional and fraudulent businesses
