Harris has worked on our Toyota's for over 30 years now. I would never take our vehicles anywhere else. We drive into Memphis from another city to always use "Quon's. There were times he should've charged me for little things or diagnostics, but didn't. We feel like family there! My Uncle, my Aunt, Sister's etc all use "Quon's"! This Review is about Harris Quon Auto Service (HQ) - Bartlett, TN 38134; and how he & company did me wrong! I rate him & her as a 1, the lowest on the 0 to 5-scale. Phone: (901) 385-7866. It is noted that that herein my negative references to he and she is the man & wife team there; although there are other employee's who work there as well. I. Nissan Ignition distributor; during COVID I was driving on Poplar and vehicle suddenly stopped. Called wrecker to haul 2 blocks East for repair close to home; the coil in distributor was bad. Ordered a new distributor from ebay; hauled truck w/new distributor to HQ. He asked me where I got the distributor (not his business); I told him ebay, and the distributor still works fine. HQ obviously irritated that I bought the distributor from some one else, cutting him out of selling me a distributor, for extra money on this job. II. Front brake rotors: I ordered THE CORRECT new front brake rotors & pads from ebay. HQ took them to shop; then returned them to me falsely stating that they were the wrong ones- a LIE! HQ had a motive of how to put more money into his pocket based upon a lie; he has a machine that he used to cut my current rotors for a labor charge of ~ $90.oo. HQ & co is NOT to be trusted. There are several other unpleasant incidents that occurred as well. III. Oil filter housing and oil filter were epoxy'd or glued together as a unit so as I could not remove the oil filter when it was time to change oil. I went thru this several cycles when I would/could only change the oil in the pan. On 3/10/2024, I took my vehicle to Valvoline Quick Oil Change, 38138, and they too were not able to remove the oil filter. The last time I went to HQ, I took vehicle there early and it was mid afternoon when I became totally frustrated, waiting for hours on HQ and went out there to see what was taking so long. I had a coolant leak and was wondering what was the cause. HQ indicated it might be a leaking head gasket, which I disagreed. After getting back home I realized it was a bad water pump and took it else where to get it replaced. HQ apparently wanted to get paid for changing the head gasket (unnecessarily) and a new water pump too; water pump was purchased on ebay and taken to another shop and that solved the problem. My assumption follows: while HQ had my car on the rack, he or someone removed my oil filter, drained/cleaned it of oil; then the oil filter housing was sprayed with brake parts cleaner & wiped dry; then perhaps an epoxy solution was applied to the rubber gasket on filter, and also to the oil filter housing; the oil filter was screwed onto the housing, PERMANENTLY, so the oil filter could NOT be removed when it is time to change oil filters. I went through several oil changes, changing only the oil in the oil pan. On 3/10/2024, after I AGAIN failed to be able to remove the oil filter yet again, I drove my vehicle to Valvoline quick oil change (38138) and they ALSO were unable to remove the oil filter. I did some research and discovered that to fix the problem I must; 1) order a brand new oil filter housing (Nissan part # 15238-F4500, now "discontinued by Nissan & unavailable", I find), 2)remove the original, NOW criminally-RUINED oil filter housing (oil filter may need to be sawed off to separate housing from the oil filter) - then disconnect wiring for oil pressure, 3) remove 4 bolts holding the ruined oil filter housing to the block, 4) remove the criminally-ruined oil filter housing, 5) can't install a NEW oil filter housing-Nissan "discontinued-unavailable now", 6) reinstall the oil pressure wiring, 7) reinstall the new oil filter w/oil, etc. At this moment don't know the cost for the NEW oil filter housing; discontinued". I'll probably have to recommend that HQ & wife come over here and take photos for posting on here; also, I ask HQ to prove that everything i've posted on here is distruthful-IMPOSSIBLE. Is HQ possibly 2 different people? One thing for sure, HQ & she & greed do not like for this customer to bring in his own parts. She personally & verbally told me she did not like it that I brought my parts; she even went and looked up one or 2 of my invoices to emphasize that to me. This is proof that they both were ticked off at me, HQ/wife had motive (greed) and they probably RETALIATED against me!! Some body did! It shouldn't matter if I bring my own new part; then greed stepped in, my several cases. This has been a VERY costly lesson to me. One thing for sure I will NEVER go to HQ again for anything; they, Harris Quon Auto Service, lost this ex-customer, FOR EVER: NO DOUBT !! I found they are not to be trusted, and greedy! If you come to my home, HQ, I can show you the evidence, non-functioning oil filter glued to the oil filter housing; can't remove old/dirty oil filter & replace with new oil filter. Heard my brakes squeaking and was expecting a huge expense to replace and repair. Made an appointment with Harris Quon. I assumed I would get a recommendation to replace the pads and maybe the rotors for the all 4 tires. After Harris's evaluation he said I only needed new pads on the front only and there was no need to replace the rotors. I feel so good visiting his family shop. It is almost rare in today's business environment where you can feel confident and truly comfortable dealing with auto repair service. Harris Quon is honest and this shop has excellent customer service! We had a problem with a gas tank on an older Toyota Camry. We found a gas tank that we were told would work (by the place we bought it). Unfortunately, it was the wrong tank and Harris let us know that immediately. This shop was extremely patient while we looked for the correct tank for the gas tank. We love our Toyotas because they are so reliable and it's nice to find a shop we can trust! This is the most honest auto repair shop I've ever experienced. I've been bringing my cars here for years. Harris seems to specialize in Toyota, Nissan,Honda and their upgrade brands. My daughter just had an issue with her Rav 4 so I sent her to Harris. He "worked her in" his schedule and diagnosed the issue in 2 hours. Unfortunately, it was a job he declined. The repair required most of the front cap bodywork to come off and Harris said he's dinged/scratched bodywork doing this in the past. He told her to take it to a body shop, recommended one to her and told her how much it should cost. He even tinkered with the fans to get them working temporarily so she could make it to the body shop safely. Finally, he didn't charge her for any of the time he'd invested. Ironically, she had brought the car to Firestone before Harris. They diagnosed the problem incorrectly, quoted a $1200 repair, another $100 in unnecessary 'needs' then charged her $74 for diagnosis. In contrast, Harris found the real issue, was upfront about his discomfort doing the repair and sent her to another reputable place - yet charged nothing because he didn't fix it. Bottom line, you can drop your car off with him and trust that only the work that needs to be done is done - no frivolous upcharges and add ons. Just like everyone else says here and on Google, this repair shop is a wonderful experience. I made an appointment and didn't have to wait at all. I was blown away with the service and the price...outstanding. They wanted to make sure they put the correct oil in my car and went out of their way to call the Toyota dealership to confirm the type. I will definitely be back to this shop. It is so hard to find repair shops that don't rip you off. I normally went to the dealer when I lived on the west coast, but the two Toyota dealerships here in Memphis had such horrible reviews, I sought out a shop with great reviews.
