It's the only place to get REAL cheddar cheese. My family expects a gift of their cheese every Christmas and birthday.

Absolutely lucked into this place while visiting our daughter at a nearby college. We were headed…read moreto the donut shop next door and saw the sign for the cheese shop. (Certainly a lucky neighborhood) It looks small from the street but once you walk in, it opens up to a sizable store. We were greeted by a friendly staff member, he took the time to describe their cheese selection and the other things going on in the shop. He then pivoted to giving us tons of help selecting the right cheese. We sampled a couple of things and then he dialed in three choices for us to buy. (With an assist from another customer that insisted that we would love the Delice de Bourgogne) Prices were reasonable enough for the quality. We added some gourmet crackers that were neutral enough to not overpower the cheese. The next day, we made the three cheeses the focus of our lunch. The Delice de Bourgogne was the star of the show, a creamy, earthy, and savory masterpiece. The two year aged Gouda and creamy blue cheese were delightful as well! Truly glad that we walked into The Cheese Traveler!

We appreciated the relatively local (Quebec, VT, NY) cheeses they have, and our destination cheese, Wisconsin Brick (which we had never tried before, and which they were quite willing to work with us on getting the appropriate size). The sandwiches looked delicious but we were there at the wrong time of day, alas, but we will 100% be back. If you like cheese, this is a destination location for the region.

Last weekend I had a feeling they would be at a different food expo. I was willing to go buy tickets to enter the expo just to see if they were there. Fortunately my hunch was right. They were there I ran over to them like we were old friends. Even gave me a hug. I knew I had to stock up on the spreads but the only lady I open for 3 months and 3 weeks once open. The 8oz pack is $8 and worth every penny. I settled on 2 -Maple Cheddars. This down come off sweet from the syrup but the flavor is addictive. I have some as a snack at night. I also bought 1 -Great Garlic Parm. The most kick you in the face with flavor. It's really potent and I find works best spread on good warmed Braided semolina Bread. Best thing to serve with your pasta dinner. This is a small family business who love their product and they should it's a great one. There are shipping fees obviously. They go higher in the summer since they need to keep it cold and costs more. I will be a customer for years to come.

If you're not a goat cheese fan....TRY the Kunik. It's seriously the best I've ever had. The "Sappy Ewe" and "Pasco's Ration" aren't cheese slouches, either. They all came home with me and provided friends with a perfect night of snacking and imbibing. And....we still have some left. Yay! They also have pre-made mac and cheese (yes...we snagged one of those as well) which was available for tasting. There are several other products that I didn't get a chance to taste or purchase, but I'll definitely be back. Seriously - go get some cheese from Nettle Meadow!!

The weather was fine but everything muddy. Aside from a brochure in the tiny (8x10?) "cheese shop", there wasn't much information on what they did. We quickly walked around to see the buildings and animals, and also purchased a couple of cheese things. However, there wasn't much to do and i was pretty bored. Perhaps when the weather was nicer, or if there was a tour guide or something, I would have gotten more out of it. Speaking of getting out... it was very muddy and a tour bus got stuck while we were there. Be warned.

Talbott & Arding was chosen as our first stop on our girls' getaway journey. Tucked in the Hudson Valley, just an hour from the Berkshires, it was a sweetly energetic beginning to our day. We each chose a sandwich from the counter. My smoked salmon on focaccia was a delight. The bread, airy and light, beautifully happy yeast just bounding with lift, defying the constraints of olive oil which left my fingers gloriously glistening. I haven't had a focaccia as happy as that in a minute. Super thin radish, bright pickled shallot and fresh watercress all gave a nice vibrant touch. Ben's cream cheese couldn't possibly be creamier. And the delicate, silky, fresh, luxurious salmon... What a dream. So balanced. I filled my arms with goods- iberico salami, Aleppo chili oil, Blackstrap coffee beans, local chocolates, and an adorable Talbott & Arding puzzle. I'm sure I could have easily convinced myself to buy just about everything I laid my eyes upon. The cheese counter was an absolute work of art. It's clear that Talbott & Arding is a willing servant to the gifts of the surrounding earth and people. The homage it pays is palpable. Our stop at Talbott & Arding set the tone for an intentional, peaceful, vibrant, cozy, delicious, connected trip. I'll be back immediately.

I didn't think it was possible ....but this time it was even better. It seems that they have expanded the menu and everything we ordered was exceptional. They started us off with a big chunk of their award-winning KUNIK cheese, accompanied by jalapeño cornbread and focaccia. (I could have made a meal of just this!!) Our giant charcuterie was the "Champion" and it was almost too pretty to eat. Almost. We chomped down on a variety of soft and hard cheeses made locally with some fruit slices, crackers, and spreads. Absolutely wonderful. The fig jam is ridiculously good, too. There is a fine selection of adult beverages and nonalcoholic choices. Desserts looked great, but we didn't indulge since we each ALSO had our own entrée. I had the special grilled cheese of the day and couldn't finish it....looking forward to heating that up at home.
