Next to the register was a small package wrapped in red & white string, labeled "Bonnie's Uncommon Fruitcake." I've been a sucker for trying fruitcakes ever since I had my first slice of Freihofer's Fruitcake over seventy years ago. Here was a locally baked fruitcake with no difficult to pronounce or preservative ingredients. That definitely made it "Uncommon." Pecans, dates, candied fruit (cherries, pineapple), eggs, sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. That's it! I thought it tasted delicious. It was not overly sweet, had a good amount of nuts and candied fruit, and there was minimal cake (flour) holding it all together perfectly. The toast was good the jam was good the hash browns were good. I don't enjoy them for breakfast. I did have the best fish sandwich I've ever had in my life there a long time ago it was a special. Easy to find, friendly staff, a good beer menu, excellent beers, and pizza! We didn't try the pizza, but it looked delicious and others sitting at the bar gave it a thumbs up. We really liked their beers. One of the beers in our sample was their blueberry beer which was indeed blueberry! It's a nice space with a good amount of searing and they have a separate event space.
