We had dinner here while visiting friends at the lake on a Saturday night. The restaurant has two floors. The upper is the main dining room and the lower is a bar usually with someone playing live music. Both rooms have nice views of the lake. Had to wait about 30 minutes for a table so we waited in the bar which we really enjoyed. The musician was very talented. The main dining room we felt was a bit noisy as there were several large parties. We ordered our dinners which were the baby back ribs and the pan sautéed halibut. The ribs were good,meaty and cooked perfectly. However the halibut was not even warm. The manager came over and quickly insisted on remaking it. The second attempt was fine. The manager even apologized a second time after dinner. Overall I would recommend this place and will come back. read more

Another great experience at Watersview, on the lake last night. We had 2 appetizers and it was more than enough for the 2 of us. We shared the Tomato Caprese, delish heirloom cherry tomatoes with buratta, so creamy and flavorful and the fried ribs.!I didn't like the sound of "fried ribs" but just order them, they were tender fall off the bone fabulous! Our waitress told us we'd like them, but we loved them instead ! Service was on point- the place was packed but I could sit and watch the sun setting over that lake every day, such a beautiful setting ! Well done Watersview. We will be back! read more

The lake view cannot make up for lackluster food and service. Both of our bases/sides- in one case potatoes and in another risotto, were not even warm; they had clearly plated them and let them sit before plating the proteins. My mom picked this place out for her birthday dinner and luckily they had a private area that could host our party of 20+ people. It was nice surprise to be seated in the private area and you could walk out on the deck to view the lake, which was beautiful! The waitress assigned to our party was really nice and I hate that I can't remember her name. It was pretty warm in the area despite the numerous fans but she pulled the shades down and that helped a little but not too much. The menu is pretty limited and the food was was overpriced for the quality. Wonderful time at Watersview. We arrived around 245 and they were serving their lunch menu. We asked when dinner started which was 4pm- but we told we could order appetizers. We decided to do so and wait for dinner. We ordered 3 to share and they were all SO good. The calamari and seafood dip were my favorites. We stuck around and the waitress took our dinner order a bit early for us - and we both selected an entree. Both were wonderful. Wife ordered a $45Filet - meat was cooked well but the sauce it was set in was sweet (wife who never complains almost couldn't eat it) Did we say something yep and were told yeah the chef didn't add the bourbon to the sauce "do you want something else?" NO we want the "chef" to taste things before they are sent out - really you didn't taste the sauce you put under a $45 filet? I had a pasta dish bland - took have home and the next day I couldn't even eat it for lunch. Look we get we're not a big city - but Please Have Pride and make great dishes - or quit cooking ... At Lake Gaston for annual lake trip that me and friends make every year the weekend after the labor day. Service was great but my main dish left something to be desired. I ordered their Smoked Chicken Wings and the Captains Fried Platter. The wings were awesome and would so get those again. I also had a piece of Tuna sashimi and a piece of cast iron sweet potato cornbread. Yum! That cornbread I could have ate the whole little skillet myself lol It was the Captains Fried Platter that was just not good to me. I got the choose two (Rockfish and Shrimp). The fish was huge and the shrimp were plump but the batter on the both was just so bland no seasoning and the batter was just falling off. No amount of tartar sauce was helping. I just could not finish eating. I gave the rest of my dinner to my sister's boyfriend and he also thought the same thing. I would not get that dish again, but would happily get the wings if go back there next trip. read more

Definitely can't hear the friend right next to you! Waitresses screaming in your ear and trying to headbutt your face. They are unable to stand up straight! Probably because they couldn't hear me either! BUT: Great cake and good coffee! "Our owner controls the sound from his house." Yeah, right! You won't see me there again! I'm so offended by what I just experienced at this restaurant. A group of my white friends were talking with a group of young black men who we were having a great time talking football. They had a table of food and a glass of water fell of the end of an unbalanced table. The owner came out and cleaned to water up; no big deal. We bought them a round of shots. These guys had the one shot we bought them no more. Then the owners wife walks over and flags them and hands them carry out containers and tells them "they had to leave." We were perplexed by the experience. There was no reason for that to happen. read more

Has long been a Lake Gaston favorite as it's centrally located with the best views on all of Lake Gaston. The new ownership (few years back now) management and executive chef have taken it to the next level. If you come to Lake Gaston do your family a favor and boat over for an incredible experience!!! We visited here this evening and everything from the service (let's go, Holly H!) to the food to the ambience was special. Quite a few of us ordered the pecan crusted cod special with butternut squash risotto and a kale and apple salad with a fig balsamic vinegarette-- all of us agreed that it was the best meal we've had at a restaurant in a long time. It should become a menu staple. One of us ordered the ribs and those were also fabulous. This was our first time visiting and we will be back for sure! We also enjoyed quite a few desserts- the best was the snickerdoodle and white chocolate skillet cookie with vanilla ice cream. Took over 35 minutes to get drinks even with open tables. Servers were OK management was horrible. Had a party of 8, they asked to split us in half so we said no problem at all, there were 3 open tables around us we could've been seated at, they then pushed an 8 top together right next to us. Sitting outside is a must here! The view is amazing. We grabbed lunch and a beer and had a good experience. I ordered the angus burger with fries and a tall IPA and my husband ordered the watersview club with sweet potato fries (sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar) and a tall milk stout.
