I'm not sure what happened, but the quality has descended so far in a year! My boiled shrimp were slimy & soft- my breaded shrimp were like tiny little crumbs. Our waitress was also incredibly rude and my stomach has been hurting for 2 days. Also, the bathroom was really gross.. Won't be back.. read more

My family and I were passing through from Virginia when we started to get hungry and came in. I wanted to like this spot, so I was a bit disappointed. I like quaint restaurants where it's the locals' go-to. The servers were incredibly friendly and had really cute southern twang. The appearance of the food looked amazing - fried and golden brown, great portions, quick expo. But once we bit into things, it really didn't taste like much. It was missing some kind of seasoning, it was bland for my taste. The texture was fine, everything was cooked through. It just felt like eating without joy. I do think that I'd like to give it a second chance one day. read more

I am so happy we decided to try this spot! We have NO regrets! We ordered our food to go. The restaurant was super busy. But everyone was friendly & welcoming! We heard some parties saying they made reservations. I see why! The popcorn Shrimp are small but so delicious! As someone who's originally from Va the moment I tasted the cocktail sauce with my shrimp, I knew the joke meal would be good! And it was! We ordered the kids popcorn shrimp & baked potato for me and a two combination plate with trout & shrimp for him. Both came with slaw & hush puppies. read more

The food had be cooked and sitting. Flounder was like cardboard. Nobody ask how the meal was. Not even at checkout. Waitress never asked if we needed refills. Will not return. read more

Awesome seafood and great prices. If you have never ate there, you are missing out. The staff are very friendly too

This was our go to place before Covid. We didn't go back because of the open setting and tables close together. We went recently and although the seating haven't changed we felt comfortable. Food is still good, fish offerings fresh and cooked to order. Servers are the best, handling the crowded rooms easily. read more

Food was very good and inexpensive, service was fast and the server very attentive. The building in very old Ana could be updated but the ladies bathroom was one on the dirtiest l have seen in a long while and the parking lot was unpaved putting dirt in the car and on tires read more

Hometown favorite! Ask for Anita, she is guaranteed to take good care of you. However, all employees are great.

Just adding photos from my favorite spot. Delicious and my friend's first time here and she loved it.

Good food! Friendly service! Great people! 220 is on our regular rotation of local restaurants we dine and support.

Great regular or seafood in this delicious you can get it with a bake sweet potato or bake potato with coleslaw include butter, honey, brown sugar, sugar. It is very good and delicious. I just had some from there yesterday. My daughter went and picked it up & her husband and brought it to me! there was so much of that I still had some for today! read more

There were 4 of us. The hot boiled shrimp and deviled crabs were good. The fried shrimp tasted like it was not fried to order. It was a bit rubbery. We were seated immediately as there were plenty of tables. We went on a Thursday night. The service was quick and our server did an excellent job of taking care of our needs. She did not wait to be called over, she brought extra beverages and hot hush puppies without being asked. Even though the shrimp was not up to their usual perfection we will go back. The ambiance is what you would expect from an older building. It is clean. The ladies bathroom needs improvement. read more

Hubby & I love this area seafood earthy- a fixture in the community for decades- serving southern seafood- trout flounder popcorn & jumbo shrimp - oysters - & more -this place stays busy to say the least - there's an enclosed shelter to help waiting lines of people from the elements- also security to assist with free ample parking. I had the 220 trout special- a huge fried trout baked potato and a small fresh salad- served fresh hot - crispy. Hubby had a 2 combo with trout & popcorn shrimp- equally delicious - with slaw & baked potato- Our server "Wendy" was fantastic- courteous friendly & efficient- older vintage fishermen decor- very unique. This is not a fancy place- but a family style restaurant with excellent seafood & service. Take out available. Located quite close to a Interstate I 85 North in Henderson NC- a great place to get fried or broiled seafood with reasonable prices. read more

I've been eating 220 since I was a kid and it always used to be so good but I don't know what happened BUT I ordered the flounder and jumbo shrimp combo plate and when I tell you the fish didn't have any flavor The coleslaw wasn't sweet and no taste as well and the hushpuppies were ok but so huge I'm so disappointed paid over 60$ for 3 plates and they even forgot the Tartar sauce!! Would not recommend! Who ever is cooking now needs to quit! read more

I had a quick work trip to Henderson, NC and wanted to dine at a local favorite. One of my college friends recommend 220. The parking lot was packed when I arrived so that made me excited to see what the hype was all about. It's a typical NC seafood restaurant with no flair or distracting decor. You come here for the food, to run into old friends and family, and to get a feel for the community. My table for one was promptly greeted by my friendly waitress. I explained it was my first time so she walked me through the menu. I usually drink water when I eat, but today called for a sweet tea. It was definitely sweet tea, with plenty of ice and sugar. But it was not too sweet where it is thick like syrup or over brewed. It was perfect. I ordered a combo of fried flounder and popcorn shrimp. She brought me coleslaw and hush puppies to nibble on while I waited for my entree. The hush puppies were golden brown fried goodness with a hint of sweetness. My entree was fried hard (or extra crunchy) with plenty of Texas Pete (the only hot sauce that really matters), cocktail, and tarter on the side. The fish was a bit under seasoned for me. I am a VA girl and we sprinkle a little old bay on everything... lol. It was piping hot and cooked just the way I ordered. The next time I'm in Henderson I will stop in again and try another type of fish. The table beside me ordered the trout and it looked really tempting. And if you have non-seafood eaters in your party don't worry they have them covered too. read more

The moment I entered the restaurant to pick up my order, I hear someone coughing; as I glanced over, I noticed who I believed to be a waitress, while I am signing my receipt, once again that nasty cough; I asked the cashier if that person coughing is a waitress and the cashier responded "Uhum " I told cashier to tell the manager that a customer questioned an employee "waitress" onsite and around food and customers coughing like that, to make matters worse, the waitress was not wearing a mask. Yuck read more

I usually have always loved this place but visiting today, we stood in line at 4:45 for about 20 minutes before seating. The Big Trout I got was so bad I couldn't eat it. It was old tasting and the crust was thick and hard. My baked sweet potato was not cooked on the inside. I wasted $10.00 on my meal today. I am not sure if I will visit again. read more

Ooo-wee!! What an amazing dinner we just had. We're headed back to DC after a trip to NC. A friend had recommended 220 Seafood and we were feeling pretty adventurous. The line was out the door but heck we were already in the parking lot and quite hungry so, in the line we go.A quick view of the menu and I knew I was going for the trout dinner. A perfect serving of trout, a baked potato and coleslaw slaw and hush puppies all for the low price of...wait for it...$6.25!!! The fish had a great batter, and it was fried to perfection. The baked potato was almost creamy, the steam coming off it with a pinch of the foil, and the coleslaw was delightful with bits of relish, nice and crunchy, hmm. The only thing that could have made it any better was a good ole mason jar of freshly brewed sweet tea...and they had that too! It actually tasted like tea and not that fake version I'm never happy to taste. I may have taken a few jumbo shrimp from my husband's plate. Plump and juicy with THE BEST cocktail sauce. My only wish was that we lived closer. Have no fear though; we will return! read more

Went today, Sat., 8/30 @ 2 p.m. it was closed! Why? Did they post hours? Nothing left to say.

Fish is delicious as well as the service. The food comes out hot and the slaw is very good.

I must express how delighted I was dining here at 220 Seafood Restaurant in Henderson, North Carolina on 11-5-21. This restaurant has a cozy and very family and friendly meal service style that makes you feel at home and comfortable. Every person that works for this establishment will provide you with top shelf customer service, the hostess, the cashier, the busser, the servers. It was a pleasure to be treated with such friendly and quality care the entire time of my visit. The food is very fresh, and tasty. I have had the opportunity to try out several different menu items over many visits. Everything on the menu here is a delight to eat. All of the fish dishes are fresh, buttery and cooked to perfection. I was absolutely blown away with the excellent customer service provided by the waitress Sandra. She was pleasant, friendly, caring, attentive, at ease, and very happy to look out for her customers. Sandra should set up training courses on how to be a top restaurant server. But I must admit that everyone including all of the waitress here provide top quality customer service. The menu prices are very reasonable and just right for the quality service and great taste of there menu item. read more

220 Seafood - Combination Shrimp, Scallops, and Trout with a baked potato, hush puppies, and Cole slaw. - Seafood Near Me - Henderson, North Carolina

People come for many miles for 220's southern seafood. Weekends always have a long line waiting to get a table. Many people call in takeout orders. The place is clean, but slightly shabby, as it has been for many years. Service is good and fast or slightly uncertain, depending on the experience of the server. Like other restaurants, they are understaffed. The menu is heavy on the fried seafood, but other options are available. The prices are very reasonable and the food is great. Highly recommended! read more

I will recommend 220 to give me a nice portion of fish when you order it and the price is always right you will never be disappointed

Seafood like no other. Amazing service with that small town charm. I could eat a their hush puppies everyday.

This looks laces stays busy and I see why. Great services, friendly atmosphere and superb fresh hot food. They provide you with complimentary hush puppies and cole slaw. The wait isn't that long. Way to go Henderson's 220 Seafood. The 18 plus years of me going never had disappointed me. read more

We decided to eat here after trying another restaurant in the area that we walked out of while waiting. This place did not disappoint. It is a little "old" hole in the wall with zero bells and whistles. We enjoyed our meals and the service was good. They were super busy, but they have figured out how to work fast, efficient, and provide good food for the price. We will be going back in the near future. read more

Dated restaurant with a 1950s vibe. Waitress was fast with beverage order. Food came out hot, good portions. I ordered shrimp and oysters, both were excellent. Senior crowd which made it a quiet dining experience. Will return. read more

The food was good and service was good but mostly fried seafood. Very busy place but moved pretty quickly

If I could give 0 stars I would. Firstly , pulling up to the restaurant. It looks like it needs a renovation definitely. We came around 6 pm and it seemed like that was rush hour so we had to wait in a line for about 30 mins. The hostess was nice enough to tell us that they were cleaning off our table. So when we finally got seated we see the crowd. It's mainly locals and old people which is no offense but it's just not my scene. Then they kept staring while they were eating making us feel like we weren't welcome. The food was definitely not all of that. I got the baby flounder with a baked potato and my partner got the regular flounder with french fries. Secondly the waitress got our order mixed up with another tables order and had made us wait for our food. The fish wasn't even hot coming out. Their coleslaw that they serve wasn't good either the only mildly good thing were the hush puppies. After eating the fish my hands were very sticky and honestly the food just turned it off completely. Felt like i had wasted my $$. Don't go here unless you're old and looking for that scene. Then some of the customers phones were ringing so loud that we couldn't hear our conversation that we were having. This is definitely the worst dining expirence that i've had in a long while. read more

The food was bland and the only thing saving the plate was the hush puppies and hot sauce

When you're in the mood for great seafood with a good selection, this is the place. Service is great and the prices are good.

220 has been the place to go for seafood in Henderson ever since I can remember. They're always busy so I would suggest going when they first open around 430. In my opinion the food is mediocre. The food can be seasoned a little better but the bushpuppies and coleslaw are always really good. In my opinion the scallops and fried oysters are the best. They do offer all you can eat specials featuring different seafood on each day. They are closed on Mondays as this is the day they sponsor various community fundraisers. If a fundraising event is going on you can still go in and purchase a ticket for a fish plate. read more
