I've been coming to Lake Gaston (LKG) my entire life, and I never ate at this location when it was home to the previous businesses. After visiting One Eyed Jack's, I'm glad to see this spot brought back to life! The outside atmosphere is awesome, and being able to pull your boat right up to the dock and enjoy dinner is exactly what makes Lake Gaston special. The vibe is comfortable, welcoming, and a great place to relax with friends and family. I had the smash burger and a Landshark, and both were amazing! The food, drinks, and overall experience made for a great visit. A big shout out to Michelle -- she was fantastic and made the experience even better with her friendly and welcoming service. Great spot on the water. We frequented this weekend over the 4th. As a larger party I was hoping for a reservation but no luck. I think this would benefit them as the place feels big but inside space is limited. Service and food were good. Fast paced and yummy. Clean bathrooms but no changing table for kiddos. This could easily be added and should be. Upstairs has a pool table and a few casino machines at the bar. Great location and awesome views of lake. We would return. read more

One Eyed Jack's is a great spot to enjoy tasty American Fare, especially after enjoying a long day on the lake. The bartender, Tyler was very friendly and he gave us time to decide on our drinks. Our party of 10 was ready for dinner, and our server Candice took time to answer our menu questions. She was honest and very helpful with her suggestions. We enjoyed the shrimp basket and fries, smash burger and onion rings, and braised short rib poutine. Candice warned us that the poutine was a heavier dish, and she was right. But, with two of us sharing it, the dish was just right. We enjoyed the pirate themed decor of the restaurant and the menu offers a variety of dishes. We're glad we made One Eyed Jack's our dinner choice. read more

One Eyed Jacks has improved so much! It is pricey, but the food is great. It's a fun atmosphere right on the water. Our waitress Kayla was wonderful!! She gave great recs and was super helpful and sweet. Definitely will be back and requesting Kayla! read more

Great lunch spot. We arrived via the water. Everything was enjoyable. Service was excellent, and the view was amazing.

One Eyed Jack's is open in the space previously occupied by The Pointe. We dined in at the bar and had no issues grabbing seats mainly because of the time of year that we visited. I started off with a beer then had an arrgg-a-rita. For food it was the cheesesteak hoagie with fries for me and the fish sando with sweet potato fries for my husband. The food was average but the location on the lake offers nice views. read more

This was our first visit here since the closing of The Pointe and the opening of One Eyed Jacks. The customer service was attentive and friendly. We ordered the fried flounder sandwiches. I paired mine with fries and he ordered the coleslaw. Everything came out fresh and timely. Our fish was delicious and the portions were perfect. My only complaint would be the Mac and cheese off of the kids menu. I ordered the Mac and cheese for my four year old granddaughter, and although it was delicious to me...the pepper jack cheese was just too spicy for her young palette. We look forward to coming back and trying other dishes from the menu. read more

I had the Kale Apple Salad, it was delicious. The hostess/waitress was very welcoming and let me choose where i wanted to sit. All of the customers were happy and atmosphere was great. So we finally got to OEJ on Monday ~ Labor Day- which we know was crazy busy- but even so..... We were seated in a room that wasn't great/ the rest rooms were right next to us so even with a screen there was a great view of a toilet. Yeah Menu is quite limited, also understandable as it's new. I ordered Fish and chips ( the only non sandwich option other than a shrimp taco) and my husband ordered a burger as the cheesesteak was sold out . His burger was very good as were the onion rings. My fish and chips was so fried, breading galore and greasy as can be as were the fries. Even with this I'd give a better review, however the tiny paper plates and cheapest flimsy plastic fork, knife and tiny napkin was a non starter and impossible to eat with- this giant breaded fried to death fish. Forget it. Plastic water cups, beer in plastic Everything was disposable including the service- food came out before beers, took forever to get waited on and it was not busy when we were there. We know you own the WatersView, we know you know how to run a restaurant- but this is barely a snack bar with beer. Get some plates, real silverware and glasses- we want to love you but for now we are out. You can't survive on simply the view. read more

The fish tacos were good. The wings were good. The 28 dollar seafood pasta was very small and mediocre. I believe I saw four shrimp and not much else other than pasta. We ordered two alcoholic drinks. One came after a significant wait. The other didn't come until the end of the meal so we declined it. The atmosphere is great and it's a beautiful location.. I was fortunate enough to be invited to One Eyed Jacks' soft opening last night--and left genuinely impressed. The service was warm, attentive, and organized (especially for night one). Drinks were well-made and fit the relaxed lakefront vibe. Food-wise, it's a hit parade: the oysters were fresh and briny; the chicharrones came out hot and crisp; the Brussels sprouts were ultra-crunchy with a bright, zesty finish; and the mussels were tender in a spicy, garlicky broth you'll want to mop up. The steak frites was cooked to temp and nicely seasoned, and the short rib poutine was a rich, delicious standout. The setting is a bonus: comfortable indoor seating plus an open-air gazebo bar outside that's going to be a prime hangout on warm evenings. For a soft opening, everything felt dialed in. If this is the baseline, Lake Gaston just gained a new favorite. Order tips: Don't miss the oysters, Brussels sprouts, mussels, and the short rib poutine; the steak frites is a great call if you're craving something classic. Sneakers a must to make the yard trek to dock on the other side of the inlet, and up the grassy areas and stone parking lot to the back of the restaurant. PACKED on weekends. Shrimp Tacos were good. Braised short rib Poutine, not so much. Indoor banquets and outdoor rotunda and porch seating. Rotunda affords view of dock and lake in backdrop. After waiting for a hostess to be seated, service was uneven and distracted. Menu is very limited. I had shrimp tacos, which were ok, but served on paper plate with plastic utensils. Wife had Brussels sprouts which were air fried, but overcooked and dripping with oil. The salad which was tiny with wilted dry and scant toppings. Flies surrounding our table were annoying. We will never go back until the restaurant uses real dinnerware and plates. A casual atmosphere is fine, but flimsy cheap plastic utensils are a non starter. Plastic cup for wine...no thank you.
