Fried Chicken Chimichanga

Great Food! Awesome service. Stopped on our drive North. The place we intended to go was Closed. So a quick search landed us here. We couldn't be happier

Let me begin by saying, I understand wholeheartedly that the pandemic is still in full force causing effects, but I'm being real nice with one star. I haven't been back in the area in about 10 years and heard about this spot from a friend. Needless to say, whom I now have a bone to pick with. Upon walking in, my party was taken care of right away. We were handed menus to order our food to go. The menus were filthy, old food and grease smeared, evident they hadn't been wiped down in a minute (no excuse, especially with the pandemic going on). We ordered One (1) Pollo Crema and One (1) Steak Crema with an order of Avocados. (Refer to the picture to see how the side order of Avocado was a bigger portion than the actual Steak entree) Once we arrived to our destination, we noticed how we barely had any portions, the steak and chicken looked inedible. I received the most runny beans I've ever encountered which also tasted spoiled. The chips were completely hard and stale. The upside about the whole ordeal were the alcoholic beverages to-go and the beautiful sunflowers out front. I will definitely not be returning, nor recommend this place to anyone. I got tired of cooking at home, but I see I will continue.

Side of refried beans

Wow!! Soooo good. Stopped here on our way back from a long road trip since it's right off of 85. The staff was so kind, restaurant was clean and the food was delicious. From start to finish, including sitting down all the way to paying the check was 25 mins. SUPER fast, the food was fresh and hot. To be fair, we ordered food as soon as they took our drink orders but still- very quick. I got the enchiladas banderas but one chicken, one cheese and one beef with a side of refried beans. My boyfriend got chicken faijitas for one. They brought out extra chips and salsa as well! No complaints and will definitely come back :) very reasonable prices. $12 for enchiladas and about $16 for faijitas.

Enough said. Pitiful.

How is this even possible. Pitiful. A sweet tea or a lemonade as well. I don't care how good the service or food is. This is 2 strikes against you.

And the night vibe is fantastic! The bar staff were great as we waited for our table. Chance is a friendly, fabulous server and he managed our party of 12 famously. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the chicken nachos and side orders of fries. We loved the live music by the Dave Hunter Trio. The macaroni bites and GOAT pizza were a bit salty for my taste. The ingredients on the pizza was a good mix. The arugula balanced out the goat cheese and grease of the pepperoni. There was a bit too much goat cheese and could've used more hot honey. My friend got the fish and chips and said the fish was bland and the fries were stale. I'd normally give this restaurant four stars but the service could use some work. Two of my other friends' orders did not come in. When it came for the bill, the orders they didn't receive were still on it. I know mistakes happen but this is a significant to make... overall, if you want a nice view of the lake while eating a meal, you can give this place a shot. There aren't many other restaurants in the area anyway. Just make sure you double check your bill to see you are charged correctly.

Found the Love Cafe just a couple miles off the highway, and definitely worth the little "detour". It's small but charming with an open kitchen and literally everything done in front of you. If you are the type that doesn't want to know what a real working kitchen looks like, keep rolling because this isn't your place. Love Cafe offers soups, salads, bowls, smoothies, breakfast, tacos, and wraps. We popped in at about 1:30 and they even offered to serve us breakfast, if we wanted it (typically stop serving after 10:30) which was very sweet. I got one of their bowls which are customizable or you can order one of their staple options. Bowls are served with your choice of protein options, base (quinoa, rice or Cali rice), 6 toppings like black beans, cheeses, veggies and sunflower seeds, and sauce/dressings. I got the chicken bowl with sesame ginger dressing and it was made fresh and a great healthy option for something fast. My travel companion got the Shrimp tacos with mango salsa. The "tacos" were more like a large burrito type tortilla cut in half to make two "tacos". Shrimp was ok but not really seasoned or special. This felt like an open wrap more than a taco. But still a nice option for a quick lunch on the healthy side. All in all we were very happy that we found this cute spot, would be happy to return and try other items. Friendly service and a bright spot to our day!

Apparently a reincarnation of Panaderia La Regia which was located on Piney Pond Road in nearby Brodnax, this recently-opened business (in the old Food Deals storefront) houses a bakery which produces some of the best custard-filled donuts I have ever tasted. Their donuts and pastries are light in texture and not overly sweet, and there is an extensive selection. I was told they bake daily. We recently enjoyed lunch from their counter in the back - three flavors of tacos on corn tortillas and a chicken sopa. The taco and sopa fillings were tasty and served with a selection of cilantro, fresh lime wedges, chopped onion, and sauce for topping. We have also sampled their house-made tamales from the dairy case which we steamed at home. The cheese and jalapeno tamales were delicious and generously filled, and the pork and chicken varieties are in our freezer awaiting dinners to come. There is a nice selection of Hispanic groceries available, including some fresh fruits and vegetables as well as staples and spices. The store is clean, bright, and well-lit. Despite our lack of Spanish, we have no problem eating and shopping here as there are English speakers available for assistance. Highly recommended - and be sure to try a custard-filled donut!

There was 12 gas pumps with Sunoco, which is apparently the official fuel of NASCAR. There is a Papa John's attached. Outside was several bottles of water. They sell Propane for $23.99. They sell Firewood for 2/$12, along with ice that was next to it. The restrooms are to the right. Immediately when to walk in to the right, there is gambling stations, coffee, and food such as hotdogs and pizza. Only 1 of the 5 slurpee options were in order. There was 15 options on the fountain drink station. They also sold sweet tea that was fresh brewed, which was interesting. There is a cooler with ice cream that was halfway empty. I noticed the beer cave that was fairly stocked, have a hood amount of beverage choices, and they accept EBT. They also sold travel items such as neck pillows and toys. They have an ATM and sell frozen food next to a cooler of ice. In the mens restroom, there are two urinals and two stalls. The toilets in the stalls were abnormally close to the ground. There were two sinks and a electric hand dryer. There was also a baby changing station that was clean. The restroom was clean. They have signs to notify staff if the restroom needs service. I ended up getting a bag Chex mix that was $1.99. The items in the store were labeled with prices, which was great. The prices for this 7-Eleven was fairly reasonable/typically versus other locations. This is the 3rd-4th one I been to since my visit in Virginia and I noticed a lack of consistency with prices. I'm sure that's because each may be independent owned. After using the rest room and browsing the store, I decided to grab some chips as my stomach started to growl. There was no line. I noticed Buzz Balls by the check out counter. The cashier, Darnese, was friendly. My chips cost me $2. I left my wallet in the car S I wasn't planning on buying anything, but they accept Apple Pay! Overall, no complaints. There was a guy stocking and another staff person, who I'm assuming was the manager, talking with a tech who came to fix something.
