Not a great view
Amanda M.

I was incredibly disappointed with my experience here. There was a special event happening that we were never informed about, which completely disrupted the atmosphere. The venue was overcrowded, seating was crammed, and the music was deafening. On top of that, half-naked women and photographers were everywhere, making the whole experience feel weird and chaotic. My friend is extremely conservative and she was uncomfortable the entire time. They aggressively pushed the $50-per-table minimum, leaving us stuck ordering drinks we didn't even enjoy - they were just gross. I was presented with just the credit card receipt, no itemized receipt and they add 20% gratuity but there is no signage outside and of course we were not told verbally by our server either. I didn't double tip. I don't know about you but when the server is honest I am more likely to tip extra but when they are being sneaky I take issue with it. To make matters worse, the views--which should have been a highlight--were obstructed and underwhelming. Out of the four rooftop spots I visited in Dallas, this was by far the worst. Instead of feeling upscale or sophisticated, it came off as trashy. P.S. if you're planning to book on a weekend the minimum goes up to $200 to reserve a table.

I used to love the Statler and Waterproof, but commmmme onnnn... Showed up with friends expecting Bourbon and Banter + Waterproof. I overheard the bell staff up front telling people how to get to B&B but even staff apparently didn't know it was closed for a private event. Went up to Waterproof instead. It was a little busy but not crazy. However, they only had one cocktail server for the whole place! They had these snowglobe things outside for $300 F&B minimum which is fine but they also were pretty light on the outdoor seating and had most of it closed off to keep people inside. It was slightly cold but a great night to be out there with heaters. We found some seats inside but it took a full 15 minutes to flag someone down to get an order taken. We were never offered menus so ordered from the cocktail menus on Waterproof's website. Server said they are out of date and there's a special menu now so she had to navigate us to that and we started over. The drinks were delicious and server was friendly. No complaints on those fronts. And I suppose the view is worth the $15 drinks, which I know to expect around here. However, there's something very cheapening about the experience to be served those things in plastic. Two of our drinks came in highball and martini glasses that were plastic but did look nice. The other two were served in straight up plastic cups, the same as the cups they have out at the water station. That was very surprising. Side notes: there are ornaments on the table and little decorations that are supposed to light up, but the batteries are dead in them and probably not being replaced. The DJ was great. He could have been somewhere much better than this. Anyway, I guess I'll keep coming here for the view and the ambiance but the place gives a definite feel of not delivering on the luxurious experience that I used to see here. Not a huge problem but just falls short of the standards Statler set for itself. If this were somewhere else and it hasn't been $80 for 1 round of drinks it could have been a 3-star experience. There are small customer experience enhancements that could really move the needle here. Menus on tables or available when you walk in, since there was no host(ess). Even a QR code to scan. Info on the website about the outdoor seating situation. Redirect the cocktail menu to the seasonal menu if it's not in service now so people don't try to order from it. Maybe a second cocktail server on a weekend evening. Think from our perspective as customers...

I went here with my boyfriend for Valentine. This place has excellent view of the city. Food and drink are great. Staffs were fun and friendly. We got candies as freebies on Valentine.

Llama llama sho mama she high no drama llaaammmmaaaa My first time at a rooftop bar (this one) was somewhat awesome, since it was my first time ever in Dallas as well. Lounging at Waterproof was a last minute choice and it was a cool pick for a rooftop lounge, cityviews, and conversations. We were here for a small birthday get-together which was enjoyable because of our company. Although their bar menu claims to be a full bar, they didn't have the first four drinks I ordered... seriously. A cocktail from the menu was also unavailable. The bartender said they were not a cocktail bar, while their menu clearly had a list of cocktails... horrible. -2.5**× for the bar service issues! As for another first timer, I got a gin and tonic. It was mildly flavored, so I just went with a couple of them... rolling eyes. The crowd was small and its indoor ambience was formal, but not so much the bartender... He didn't even offer up suggestions after declines on the initial four drinks... really. Food is served here, however expect a wait. It wasn't brought to our table either. The best part was the outside with the lounge couches, beds, and small fountain pool. There were mist blowers which made the air cooler with the humidity. Thank goodness the clouds covered the sun a bit, or it would've been scorching. A hallow metal llama watches in amusement. That was my favorite part along with the views. 2.5**× stars for the outdoor lounge.

This rooftop bar located above the Statler Hotel has amazing views... and that's about it. Service: poor customer service, if you get acknowledged at all. My party of 3 had two rounds of the same exact drinks. My brother purchased the first round and his bill was about $48. I purchased the second round and my bill was about $36. We have no idea how that could be. Drinks: sub-par and served in plastic cups for $14-$17. The bar area had a horrible stench as well. It was almost as if they hadn't washed their rags. atmosphere: nice decor. leaves more to be desired in terms of music. only 4 unisex bathrooms. seating areas could use a cleaning more often as used towels are left behind. pool on the rooftop is also small.

Great ambiance in a rooftop bar. Music was on point and the drunks were just right. Perfect place for an after dinner date or to people watch and relax! Will definitely come back here when in the area

Cool, hip, trendy and fun place with a great vibe and amazing views. This is a good spot for meeting up with friends for a Sunday Funday. The view is definitely the best quality. The rooftop overall is a bonus for this downtown Dallas hotel. You can Self Park for $5.00 or Valet Parking is $10.00 with validation. My experience overall was decent. The staff is lacking on customer service. Our waitress was not the best. I wasn't impressed with the quality of service. The drinks are pricey. Not enough alcohol. I agree with others about overpriced cocktails. The shrimp were tasty. Definitely better than what I expected. The shrimp were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Our group really liked them. So the food was good or at least this appetizer was a winner. The inside and outside areas were clean. Plenty of seating if you get there early enough. People were wearing their masks. Decent music playing to keep it lively. I'm glad to have finally tried this spot. I don't like they CLAIM they can't split checks up. I bet if one person didn't have enough to cover it they would figure it out. I don't like chasing my waitress down for my bill or more drinks. I would probably come back and chill on the rooftop. This place has potential, but lacking in areas and there is room for improvement. It's kind of OVERRATED.

Came on a Friday afternoon and was able to quickly grab a couple drinks and get seated with a friend. The view was beautiful but we were definitely hoping for sunnier weather! It was about 79 degrees and my friend and I were the only ones in swimsuits! There was plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Thankfully, since it wasn't too crowded, we got wonderful photos and had plenty of space in the pool. Drinks came out quickly, but when we ordered food, the wait was super long - over 40 minutes. The food was typical bar food...tasted good, but left something to be desired. Whipped ricotta could've used some more flavor (or maybe just salt) and the toast with the Calabrian shrimp was a little burnt. The drinks tasted alright but could be stronger...for cocktails, the Fountain of Youth was pretty refreshing.

Is making a reservation free?

I don't remember but they made me pay an entrance fee of $20 that had nothing to do with the reservation and they didn't communicate this beforehand. So be careful about additional costs they ask for

Is this a kid friendly restaurant during the day?

No. NO.. Noooooo

Is lounge and restaurant opened to the public at all times or you have to make reservation every time?

It's open to the public at all times

Can I come with my lil brother he is 20? they said you must are 21 years old to enter?

Minors must be with a parent to enter.

Are there certain hours only for hotel guests or is the pool always opens to the public?

Is there a dress code?

Dressy casual

Is there cover to enter the waterproof bar? I am not staying at the hotel, i will be just visiting the bar. Is there cover fee?

No you can just go up and hang out

Do I need reservation for late drinks on Saturday night?

Not usually! (Special event nights would be an exception.)

Is it busy on Sunday evenings past 10pm? Also, how bad is the lines to get to the top? Also, where is their parking? I plan on going on a Sunday night, so hope not too bad. Please help!

I wanted to make a reservation for a bottle service, but nobody has returned my emails or calls, is there an specific link I need to go to see that?

$1200 minimum for a table by the pool that seats 6 people comfortably. Email Paola Garcia hello@waterproofdallas.com to make reservations.

Is it still fun to go if it is cold outside? Do they have any heaters outside?

They have heaters, as well as limited indoor seating - so it is still worth checking out on msrginal days.

Do they have happy hour. And if so what are the offers?

I think they mentioned a happy hour but I can't remember the specials. The views are worth the price. Very cool and friendly bar.

Do you have to be a hotel guest to visit this bar?

No, you do not!

He literally told me, "If a drop of rain comes, then I'll give it to you." It had rained for much of the day, and multiple customers were asking about the same promotion. If the requirement is that rain must physically be falling while you order, that needs to be clearly stated in the advertisement. Otherwise, the promotion feels misleading. I've been to Parliament several times and have never had a bartender interpret the rainy-day happy hour this way. I ended up ordering a smoked Old Fashioned from another bartender I've had before, and it was great. He was friendly, engaging, had great energy, and even did tricks while making the drink. I still enjoyed my cocktail, but it would've been nice to have the option to order from the happy-hour menu as advertised that day. I'm including the Instagram post for reference. I'm very disappointed as I've never not had a good time at Parliament. I really think that the owner should look at the Times stamps around 930 to 10:15pm part night and see the difference of business and traffic flow from when the taller bartender with the glasses versus the shorter Bartender with the glasses was at the front as it was instantly more business. Oh and lastly, I left my Betsy JOHNSON purple umbrella. I'm so sad and they don't have a number to call.
