I went to the Tinis and Weenies night, which they hold every Wednesday, so this is what I'm rating my experience on! I saw the event advertised on social media and knew I had to check it out. It's gourmet specialty hot dogs paired with a wide selection of martinis, from classics like lemon drops and cosmos to more unique options like the pickletinis and caprese tinis. I went with a couple of friends around 5:45 and it was packed, but luckily people were leaving as we arrived so we were able to grab a spot. It was a little too chilly to sit outside, but they do have additional seating and I'd definitely sit out there when it's warmer. The food was great. I got the kimchi hot dog and loved it. The brioche bun really stood out, and the chili truffle oil fries were amazing. Everything comes out on a cute little tray, which was a nice touch. For my drink, I tried the pickletini. It was good, but definitely strong, especially if you're new to martinis. One friend got the caprese-tini, which was surprisingly good and came with a caprese skewer, so you get a little snack with it. My other friend got a dirty martini, which she enjoyed, and even as someone who isn't big on olives, I thought it was pretty good. Overall, we all had a great time and will definitely be back to try more of the menu! read more

This was either the third of fourth time my friends and I have done a drink making class here...one day we'll actually go for drinks lol. We always have such a great time at the drink making class and this was no exception. Marissa was our teacher and she was excellent! She was knowledgeable about the product and great with helping us make the drinks. She was also fantastic when she let my friend and I swap one of the syrups, hazelnut, for almond since we don't like hazelnut anything lol. The one sort of downside to this particular visit is it would've been nice to know they can't sell any bottles of alcohol after nine. My friends and I spent some time chatting after the class and when we went to buy some bottles, we were told we couldn't because it was after 9. My beautiful friend, Natalie, celebrated her birthday at Waterman Spirits, where we got to enjoy her special day while making cocktails at their Spring Cocktail Class. As soon as we walked in, I couldn't help but notice how beautifully decorated the distillery was. It was very inviting and all of their spirits and merch were openly displayed for purchase. Our class started at 7:30pm and the host was amazing. She explained how Waterman's originated and how their vodka was made with 100% organic corn. Before we began making the drinks, she walked us through all the items displayed at our station and taught us a few cocktail making tips as well. Throughout the hour class, we made 3 different cocktails; Lavender Bloom, Strawberry Cream Soda and Smoked Orange Espresso Martini. It was a very interactive experience and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and even made some new friends. My girlfriends and I tried out Waterman Spirits' Cocktail Class at the beginning of July 2025. I thought it was such a unique experience and had not heard of any other businesses doing something like this! Great for date night or a get together with friends. It was perfect to celebrate my friend's birthday. You reserve your spot online and the class typically holds about 16 people. I have been following the company on Instagram for a while now and finally was able to solidify plans to check them out! We arrived to the VB Oceanfront and parked in a lot that was a few blocks away. Whether you park in a parking lot or one of the city garages you have to walk at least a few minutes to get to Waterman's Spirits. The front of the business has a nice, clean aesthetic look to it (perfect for an outfit photo or a group shot!). The inside main sitting area and bar are beautiful! Ceiling fixtures and other beachy decor really elevate the smaller space. We waited a few minutes to be let into the back room for our private class. There is one bathroom available so you may have to wait in line. Thankfully my group of 4 arrived on time so we were able to pick stations next to each other but if you arrive late you risk the chance of not being let in or having your group split up! They warn about latecomers in the confirmation email when you book. Our class was taught by Noelle (I'm not sure if she is the main teacher or if they have others) and she gave us the back story of the business and then how the flow of the class would go. They have everything set up at each persons station beforehand such as the exact amount of syrup you need for one drink with the exception of the different vodkas still in their original bottles. They change out the drinks/class theme every 3 months so this was their "Vacation Pours" themed class. You can get a sneak peak at what the drinks/flavors are on their website to see if it interests you before booking. Reach out to the business with any allergy concerns ahead of time and they are able to accommodate. The class lasted less than an hour but it didn't feel rushed. We made three different drinks but I was a little let down because they felt like smaller versions of a normal sized cocktails. We got to take home a handout with the recipes and a small jar of the simple syrup they use so that was a nice touch. In the end, you pay for the experience! I know my friends and I will not forget this evening together! We went on a Saturday night so after the class we popped on over next door to The Shack to keep the good vibes going. It is one of their sister restaurants with a huge outdoor space, music, games, snacks. Perfect summer evening at the Virginia Beach oceanfront! I will definitely be keeping an eye out for future classes (Noelle gave us a heads up that around the holidays in the winter the classes fill up fast) and recommend this place to all my friends/family! read more

The drinks here are excellent, super well balanced. I had an Orange Crush, their specialty, and it was the best I had in Virginia Beach. I also got another drink, a habanero daiquiri, it was excellent as well. We sat at the bar and the service was fine, friendly but mostly focused on getting the work done. Wow! This place is amazing! Waterman's is one of my favorite places when visiting Hampton Roads. I was excited to see they now distill their own alcohols and let me tell you- they are good! I bought a few bottles after tasting them. The bartender was really nice and informative. We were told the drinks here are different than the restaurant and honestly you could tell- they were SO good. I tried two fall menu cocktails: cinnamon White Russian and the holiday crush. Both so good and perfectly crafted. My partner got the pumpkin spice martini which was SO good and the pineapple upside down which was also great. Highly recommend trying this place! We didn't have enough time to return, but it's even dog friendly! Will go back when we are in town in the spring. read more

This place was fantastic! The bartender whipped us up some samples the moment we walked in. Parking was easy to the right of the shack around 3pm on a Friday. Ambiance was awesome and I love the bar top (maybe quartz?) everything we decorated beautifully for Christmas. We did not have any food and I did not see any food or snacks menus... there may be some peanuts for sale but we did not get any. I will be back! What a great concept with a classy vibe. It was my wife's birthday on a chilly, Thursday night when she saw the place glowing off the street with very few people around. She said "lets try it", so I pulled over parking on the street and walked in. The place was very clean, classy and comfortable but with a very unique view of the distillary behind the bar. Reminded me of a modern "Willy Wonka" factory with that brass look and colorful bottles all around. I thought it was way cool but a "different take" from your typical distillary vibes. Usually you see something like this in a brewery or a place a bit more "rugged" however this had a... "females touch" to it but yet fitting for anyone. We met the owner Mariah and her staff member (possibly Ally?) working with her to which they were closing things up for the night. We had a couple of suggested cocktails that was from organic vodka and to my surprise, it was delicious. I had a Vodkarita that was clean but yet a hit of spice in it. The vibe and conversations with the both of them became so welcoming, warm and comfortable that we stayed until they closed sharing a great ending to the wife's birthday evening. Comes to show that you should take chances in life because if we didn't stop here, I would never have know how cool of a place this is. Visited here on 06/03/23 as we had some friends in town and wanted to try something new and since the weather was not so great last weekend thought this was a good place to try. The tasting room is so pretty. The bar was cool looking. We sat a six top, there is also a four top and a couch and two chairs. They also have a small patio with about three small tables (I think) and a cool fireplace. I had the Waterman painkiller and the Espresso Martini, I enjoyed both cocktails. It was not very busy but could be because of the weather. This is located right next to the Shack. I did not get any bottles of their alcohol but would love to visit again to try other cocktails. read more

We were at the festival and decided to stop by here for a drink. They actually had vodka bottled for SITW, so we had to get one. The place is so cute and trendy. Everything is house made. There's no food since they are technically a distillery, so don't come here looking for food. The drinks were amazing and reasonably priced! The rest room was clean. The bartender was so friendly, and did a great job of explaining everything. We will definitely be stopping by again when we are in the area.
