By about 1:45 they had not arrived. I called the company, but no one answered. I left a phone message. I was called back in a couple of hours and, and the secretary/scheduler informed me that the job they were on was taking longer than expected. She then asked me if they could reschedule for tomorrow. I stated that that was not convenient for me. I finally relented and agreed to meet them on Tuesday. If I recall, the one technician was about 30-45 minutes late. She informed me that she had not been told about fixing the lack of shower hot water or about cleaning the mold out of our faucets but had only been told about cleaning the water heater! She arrived and started to flush the water heater. She then informed me that her new water pump that she needed for that job was defective and kept tripping the circuit breaker. She asked me if she could come back the next day at 8:30 AM! This was early for me in terms of usually sleeping longer, but I agreed in order to get the ordeal finished. She came with a young helper, and they completed the work. Rose appeared to be competent and, furthermore, she communicated well with me which was an appreciated change from her handler/scheduler. She and I talked about the benefit of the whole house water filter. She stated that she would get some information and send a proposal. That never happened. As you can gather, there are two significant problems with Joseph Rose plumbing, according to my experience with them. One is the absence of adequate and efficient communication, and the other is a lack of follow-up on what they say they will do.

The guy on the phone told me a new one would cost $1900. I thought that a good bit high but maybe water heater prices had gone up, and it was a holiday weekend, so I said okay. When the technician came he told me it would be the $1900 for the heater itself plus another $400 or so for his labor, and that if I didn't do it that day, who knows when it could be scheduled on a normal workday. By then I was frustrated and didn't want the tenants without hot water for a week or so while I haggled over money. I told him to go ahead. After paying $2600, including tax, I noticed in Lowes that their water heaters still cost $700. They actually haven't gone up much. $700 plus $400 is what this should have cost. I paid roughly $1500 more than I should have. The technician left a small paper indicating I paid in full but it had no information about the water heater make or model and nothing about warranties on the heater itself or installation. I texted their office asking for those things and was ignored. Then I left a phone message and was ignored. Finally I drove to their office and was told my case has not been processed and they'll send me everything when it is. I'm still waiting. I feel this is the worst I've been cheated by any company in decades.

Upon unscrewing the metal hose, it immediately retracted into the curved faucet -- slid through the tube and caught at the end of the pipe under the sink. I was able to feed it back up through the curved faucet, and could see the end of the metal hose up near the top side but was unable to pinch the edge of the hose and pull it through. I worked at it for a couple of hours -- trying and hoping that I could fix it -- but finally threw in the towel. Professional help was needed. Melvin answered my phone call at 8:30 am while on his way to an already scheduled service call. Hearing that we had guests who had just arrived the night before, he agreed to try and make it by our house that afternoon. Melvin was able to come by that afternoon, reconnect the water line, identify the part number of the faucet head, connect with the company's customer service department to determine the replacement part. Melvin is knowledgeable, patient, fair and kind. He goes the extra mile in providing plumbing service. Unbeatable!

Despite our bill going DOWN after turning ON our sprinkler system, they insisted there was a leak.
