Waterfront Deli is no frills and isn't trying too hard. And I am here for it! I came by on a Friday for lunch with some coworkers. BOY was the parking lot packed. What a happenin place! I had a pick two for $10.75 -- with half a QC Club and the soup of the day, Zuppa Toscana. It was delightful! Clean plate club. Pricing is on point. The staff was insanely friendly and despite being jam packed, the food came out promptly. The menu features sandwiches, hot dogs, salads and soups. As well as a few typical sides (pasta salad, potato salad, coleslaw, etc) and some homemade desserts-- the fruit crisp sounds like a winner to me. Ugh!! I was expecting a good experience but it just fell short on so many levels. Took my mother here after a long day at the doctors office and it was just not good. The presentation looked amazing and we had high hopes for the sandwiches and sides but it was very disappointing. My mother ordered the turkey salad on rye bread and I had a turkey and ham sandwich on wheat. We both had the turkey cheddar soup. The soup was very thick and not very soup like and it was very salty. The turkey salad was literally minced mush on bread and my turkey and ham sandwich was smothered with globs and globs of mayo and what tasted like horseradish mustard. There was so much mayo and mustard that it was nauseating. I used about 6+ napkins to try and wipe it off of my sandwich and my hands but the unappealing damage was done. The wheat bread was really good and hearty. I also had the jalapeño potato salad and it was ok but was a bit heavy on the cumin. Like I said we had high hopes and the presentation was good but wasn't the best. We did purchase pumpkin cheesecake to go and that was really good. read more

I have eaten at Waterfront Deli numerous times over the past 35 years. They are back on their game serving devious sandwiches, I ate inside on May 28, 2021 and the Cashier/Order Taker was extremely friendly. My normal standby is the Cardiac. When they feature the Chicken Tarragon Sandwich I switch my order to that one as it is such a different (but mild) taste. I also order a side of coleslaw which is also very good. Their indoor seating has opened up again as well as their self serve beverage machine. It's wonderful to have these back again after COVID-19 struck. I would recommend Waterfront Deli to others as they are not only local but serve some very healthy and tasty sandwiches. I'm so glad they were able to remain in business the past 15 months due to carry out and patio seating. read more

Never again, soup was cold, limited bread offerings so I went for a salad to be told they're out of Italian dressing. It was between hot oil or six other fattening choices. If your going to have the word delicatessen in your name then you need to be at least a step up from a subway that was across the parking lot. read more

First time here today, parking lot was packed at noon so we parked next door, 15 minute wait to order at the counter, Tried their version of a Reuben sandwich and coleslaw. sandwich was better than average, I would call it a medium sized sandwich , at best. wish it was 20% larger , for the price. I like their horseradish , I like creamy coleslaw there's is not creamy , but it was fine ,just fine. only waited 15 minutes for the sandwich, the place was neat and clean, paid $10.00 plus a tip. partner got the half "touch of class " sandwich and bowl of cabbage /kielbasa soup. she said it was very good . $10.00 as well. no ! music ! thank god ! read more

Pick up order and it was terrible. Tuna salad on tomato was dry and had no dressing, a bit of seasoning in the middle of scoop and two tiny pickle pieces. It was sitting in a bunch of lettuce which also was dry. QC Club sandwich was dry, smoked ham was too smoked, no dressing. Chips? A bag of Lays. Lite cucumber on rye at least had tender bread but was in a pile in middle of sandwich. More Lays. Thus was really disappointing and embarrassing to share with a friend. Never again. read more

I Always get the cardiac and American potato salad. It's a Turkey salad sandwich with sprouts and a tomato. Wonderful bread.

The food is wonderful and the folks working the dining room did a great job. The lady at the register (short dark hair) looked and acted like she hated her job. She scowled the whole time we were there, she acted like she didn't care whether we were there or not, and there was no "thanks" or "we appreciate your business " or anything similar. Their relocation has not been a positive one. Where before the atmosphere was quirky, it is now industrial and dulll, lighter, but dull. Looks like a cheap fast food place now. I quit eating what used to be good soup because they have joined the trend of spicing everything up. Too often they don't have a non-spicey alternative. "It's only slightly splicey." Is too hot for someone who appreaciates flavor over heat. Adding kick is an easy way of avoiding making it tasty. Some of us can't / don't want any hot spice. Used to go in here couple of times a week. Won't go there any more. The sandwhiches are ok to good. But, the price is high for just a sandwhich in a sterile atmoshere. read more

Wait for your food to come up. Taste everything, that's what its all about here. No the decor wont wow you, or the price and maybe the menu looks like an average street corner deli. You will be pleasantly surprised to find out its not your average deli. Break from the norm and try a Cardiac. Its not big bold flavors that smack you in the mouth. Ok update on the meal I splurged for my friend & myself. Their sandwich was so-so (they too had never eaten there and also curious and excited to try something new to eat). The dessert, $3.50 for a "Rhubarb Crisp", it was neither crispy, it was a blob of SLOP on a tiny little plate, approx. maybe 4 tablespoons of rhubarb that was sour beyond belief. So sour where you puckered eating it. Presentation of any food including desserts, "the eye eats the food first", is paramount. This was not worth even $1.00 if that. Honestly do the people that run this "deli" not taste test their food and know what it tastes like? The meat in their sandwich was paper thin and lacking which also included alfalfa sprouts and "something green(other than the lettuce" they couldn't figure out what it was as it wasn't listed in the description of the sandwich ingredients. Their sandwich also included more cheese than meat. They need a real head cook or chef in this place, especially for the prices they command. Perhaps the food will actually taste like something and improve. Sorry I cannot give my blessing to eat at this place. Go to a real deli, you will realize how wonderful sandwiches can taste. Next best thing in a small town as this, Hungry Hobo where the meat is actually there, in a good quantity (not paper thin and tasteless). And where you won't have to get out your credit card for a simple lunch of sandwiches! No I don't work for HH either. I simply state the facts of what I encountered. Please please go back to the drawing board and do some tastings of your own food and see if you're impressed with it. OMG, please please save your money and palate from this place. I know deli food, and this isn't it one iota. My first and last visit. 2 sandwiches, very basic ones, 2 desserts, $23! Whoa. One strike. I have been to Hungry Hobo and spent less than half this amount and it is consistently great. The potato salad @ Waterfront (American), smelled bad when I opened the little cup, fishy and odd, like the mayo had gone bad. I tasted it, I don't know what they have done to an American classic, but it wasn't even close to potato salad, it had some odd taste in it that left a bad aftertaste, sour and fishy (it went into the garbage can!). 2 strikes! The sandwich on sourdough had the most paper thin slices of meat, maybe 3 pieces if that on a club. The tomatoes were slush (in the garbage can that mush went, past their prime!). The lettuce, fresh and crunchy. The sandwich had several basic cheeses, in fact I found more cheese and lettuce and bread than meat. 3 strikes. For what i paid, I expect value for the money. This is NOT the place. I am not sure of the desserts, haven't tried it yet. I am wary of how long items have been on the shelf at this place I think it's time for a look see at their latest Health dept. inspection on the county website . Even the sourdough bread tasted funny. I understand they bake it there, well it was basically tasteless. Sourdough should have a great taste, not a stale taste whether you toast it or not. I really was excited to try the sandwiches here, my friend I haven't heard from yet if they liked theirs. I will find out and hopefully not be embarrassed for picking this place. The exterior of this place looks inviting. The interior needs some help, very dated. And for the prices they charge, they need to plunk some of that profit margin into the place and fix it up. The order taker, very nice. I give that and speediness of receiving my order at a busy lunchtime hour 1 thumb up. That was about all that was impressive. Add some flavor and actual meat that isn't paper thin to your sandwiches, they need help desperately. Bland, boring and questionable quality of ingredients. Oh how I wish I had my $23 back! Lesson learned. NEVER AGAIN. Sad because I really had high hopes for this place. If you think this is fine deli food, you haven't traveled outside of the QCA. I am disappointed to write this review. I have eaten here for years. I do like the new location, but the quality of the food is slipping. The meat no longer taste as fresh and the American potato that I have always loved does not taste as fresh and is not consistent quality. I hope the owner sees this review because I hope she changes things before it is too late. In the past the salads were made daily and the meat was also fresher. The turkey now has a day old taste, The pastrami is not the same quality and the potato salad also had the appearance of being old. It is was watery looking and tasted old. I have noticed this change over the past year. This is not a one time occurrence. I use to come in every Tuesday, but don't anymore. I tried it tonight and it was the same as it was a couple of months ago. Today's date is 01/12/16. Again I hope the owner takes heed and makes the necessary changes. read more

I just found Waterfront Deli within the last year!! I LOVE the fact that I can taste test anything before I buy it!! The cookies are AMAZING, the soups are some what "scary" but when I taste them, I am sold!!! (I'm used to good ole fashioned Chicken Noodle, or basic!!! They have changed my mind!) The staff is very professional and they will help you decide what to order (I've learned to choose what they suggest!) I love the fact, that if I ask what's in something, they don't have to go read a label normally, and they cater to your specific allergies! Will continue to go there!!! read more
