Just a few blocks from down town the Watch Zone has a parking lot shared with just a few other shops in the 1 block strip. There's also plenty of metered parking. The shop is bright and welcoming compared to another shop previously visited. I stopped in to get a new battery for the BF's Bulova and they were able to do it while we waited. It the whole transaction was less than 15 minutes and when she was done she even showed him how to optimize the battery life. I thought they did a good job and I reminded him of his current watch he was wearing that needed slight repair. The second hand was somehow bent and needed to be taken apart, fixed and reassembled so the watch needed to be left overnight. Will update more upon pick up as I have my Dad's old seiko I'm hoping they can fix along with a battery change for my citizen to drop off. read more

My daughter's watch needed a new battery quickly and I had driven by Watch Zone many times but never stopped in. The small strip center has its own parking lot on its side street off of Civic so you can avoid the street meters. I walked in and the gentleman working in the repair area immediately came out to assist me. I explained the need and he took the watch back to the repair area, replaced the battery, re-set the time on the watch, and I was out the door in 5 minutes at about a $12 cost. Watch needed a new battery, a new watch band and a polishing of its scratched up crystal. Got all three in ten minutes for a total of $38 (including a leather watch band on which they switched the buckle from silver to gold for me). Fast and friendly. It's a little inconspicuous. If you're traveling east on Ygnacio Valley, you go right on Civic and it's a block or two in on your right, next to a dry cleaners and a nail salon in a small strip mall. My one small complaint, and my suggestion to them, was that they stay open late on a weeknight or two. Who says small businesses don't have it anymore? Realized I needed help with an item I purchased online - installing an after-market watch band on a new watch. Seems simple right? Nope. Special tools and a trained eye were in order. I had walked by Watch Zone several times and checked it out on Yelp prior to heading over. Once there, I parked behind the building. The lady that helped me was very helpful. She didn't care that I brought in a watch that was not purchased there, she was more than happy to help. As a certified watch repair specialist, she also shared some information on how to best select an automatic watch and the things to look out for. I have to second what Dan S. said about the service and speed. I've been to this place about 3 times now, always expecting to drop off my watch and having to come back hours later, and pay a fortune. However, every time I show up I'm amazed by how fast they turn the repair around, and for great prices! I don't think I've ever spent more than $15 on a repair for my watches and it never takes more than 10-15mins. The employees are friendly and attentive, but the place does have a bit of a bazaar-type feel to it, with some random odds and ends for sale. It's located about a block off of Ygnacio Valley Rd and can be a little difficult to spot at first, but once you do there's typically plenty of parking out front or on side streets. read more

Very fast and professional. Took two Anne Kline watches in for a battery and the other for repair because I clumsily knocked the crystal face off. My battery was replaced quickly and at a reasonable price. The other he advised would ya e to be returned to the manufacturer because his repair (glue) of the crystal faceplate would show through unwell. Trust Tam with your precious watches, he is a true watch maker. Very friendly and has all the tools and skills to do the job. I have been burnt by several Yelp 5-star reviewed "watch repair" shops for tasks as simple as adjust the links. This week I brought a $7000 brand new Omega watch to a San Francisco shop (all 5-stars) to take out several links. Guess what, they took out 5 links, and left 4 several hammer mark on the bands. Then I went to Tam, with the right tool, he replaced one link within a minute, no scratch. It is supposed to be that easy. Thank you! After talking to Tam, I will definitely bring my Omega back for service in couple of years (he is certified). read more

I appreciated their information and will return to such an honest dealer. Did not try to sell me a new watch. Consumers Beware Do not go to this place, I have had the worse experience of my life. The owner is rude and obnoxious. I brought my watch for a simple battery repair and it turned into the most ridiculous yelling and screaming match. My watch was not working consistently, it was on and off. One day I was by the Union Square in San Francisco and stopped by Macys watch repair just to have it double checked. After just a short moment I was advised that the battery that I had was incorrect, too thick, and that's why my watch was not working. In a couple of days I stopped by Watch Zone just to have a basic conversation and a kind request for my $25 incorrect battery fee possibly get a full or even a partial refund. Before I could finish what I was trying to say I was met with a barrage of loud accusations, humiliating remarks, yelling, screaming and harassment. And this is just for a possible $25 refund. This owner needs a serious psychological evaluation, he can't be out and about working in a public place. Complete lack of customer care. I am having very hard time believing that any of his reviews are genuine and not written by his friends or family members. read more

I needed work done on my Patek Philippe, so I looked around for a jeweler, but nobody would work on my watch. I phoned several well known stores in San Francisco, and they all said they could take the watch, but that the work would be done in New York. I had been in this store before to have batteries changed in other watches, so I knew they did repairs. I stopped in, and the proprietor proudly showed me his many certificates, attesting to his expertise, and he opened the watch and told me exactly what was needed but that he'd have to secure the parts from New York. He did, and the watch has worked perfectly ever sense. I wouldn't think of bringing any of our watches or clocks to any other place. This is the "real deal". read more

I have to write a review because of the terrific service I had here before. I brought to replace a battery on my Marc Jacobs watch to a place in concord. They had to order the batteries for my watch because they didn't have it. Came in the next day and said my watch was missing something to hold the lock for it which they didn't have the right tools for so they referred me to come to this place. Brought my watch, and they fixed it right away. The lady was very helpful and told me to come back if I wanted to replace my band for my watch for a short band. Reasonable price and fast service. I came on for a simple battery watch change and the owner couple started ripping my ultra high end $60,000 watch into pieces asking me when I got it, asking if it is brand new (hello you stupid moron) and sll other put down comments. Dear stupid - That is why I need a battery change because it's been running for a while and it is not brand new and hello you knew it was a vintage 1980s watch from the beginning. The repairman is skilled who I would give 5 stars, but the poor customer service over batteries takes them down to two stars. So taking a fine watch to him is OK. But they are on the cheap side. I have a watch that was deemed by the repair to be a great watch. I agreed to have the battery replaced. A year later the battery died, but I took it in 7 days late. Just to see if the watch was having issues, I placed a dated label on the bottom of the watch. Sure enough 11 and half months later the watch was stopped. I took it back to them for a warranty replacement of the battery, received the standard lecture that this was a ONE time replacement. She had nothing to say when I explained that her repairman husband said this was a strong watch. I did notice one thing: she went to a drawer for the battery instead of the wall where my more expensive watches received their batteries. Could it be that they are using "generic" cheap batteries for certain watches? For actual repairs to a watch I would come back, but for battery replacements I recommend going elsewhere. read more

They adjusted my watch in minutes and even showed me how to make a minor adjustment myself if I found I wanted my watch a little tighter. Found this place on Yelp! I got lucky! Had recently had Tag Heuer that needed battery. Took to watch place in Sun Valley Mall. They said it needed to be cleaned, which they could do for $250. Watch stopped again which led to me now having 3 watches that needed batteries and new one that needed links out. Not only were they quick, they told me the Sun Valley watch location put in a battery that was too small, which is why it didn't work!Plus they are very pleasant and professionl! I brought my 25 year old Rolex watch in for an estimate on repair. It quite working and prior to that it didn't keep good time. Rolex watches are not cheap to repair which I new prior to bringing it in. His price was less than a Rolex dealer. It wasn't the first time it was opened. When I got it back after three weeks it looked new and has never kept time this accurate. Great service and done in a timely manner. read more

I am a hard core watch collector and have struggled to find a good repair shop in the Walnut Creek area. I finally found the Watch Zone and am glad I did. The owner, Tam, is a long time certified watchmaker, experienced in everything from changing a battery in a Timex to doing a full overhaul of a Rolex. He is friendly and generous, doing simple things like battery changes while you wait, and often under charges for things you would pay big bucks for elsewhere. He has all the skills and equipment necessary to do everything from regulating a mechanical watch to pressure testing; he even custom made a stem for me! I read another review here that mentioned he also sells watches, and while he sticks to the mid-range Citizen and Seiko type, his prices are good and I would buy with confidence knowing you could bring it back to him for any kind of service needed. If I sound like a fan I am; I can't tell you how many times he has helped me out and I literally would not bring any of my watches anywhere else. read more

Very skilled watch maker/repair person. Very few can take apart a Rolex or Omega and put it back together again...without having left over parts :). This guy is well trained and very passionate about mechanical watches and their proper upkeep. He is not cheap, but neither are the watches he is authorized to repair and service. And if you live in the East Bay this location in Walnut Creek with easy access beats the heck out of going to 220 Post Street in SF where all the high end watch repair and service centers are located. read more

I took in a watch with a broken crystal. It isn't a fancy or expensive watch, but it has a lot of sentimental value to me. When I showed it to Tam, he said that he would try his best to fix it, but warned me that he may not be able to based on the design (I appreciated his honesty). A few hours later, his wife called me to tell me that my watch was done. I could tell that Tam understood the importance of this watch to me and I got teary-eyed when I saw that it looked brand new again. I can never thank him enough for what he did for me!!! I brought my watch in to have the stem fixed. After I picked it up, it immediately starting getting condensation under the crystal. When I brought it back the owner told me it wasn't his fault, and that the watch was old. It never happened before he touched it and I thought it was pretty coincidental that it happened since he fixed it. He wasn't even willing to look at it to see if he put the crystal back on wrong. He just blamed me and the watch. I had to bring it to another watch place. They confirmed that Watch Zone caused the problem which they then fixed. Not only did he do bad work, but he didn't stand by his work. Terrible place. read more
