I can't say enough amazing things about this place. The location, the staff, the food, it is all…read moresuperb!!! We go twice a year, for my birthday and New Years Eve. They have a salad called the OHBH, I could have it for breakfast lunch and dinner everyday!! It is amazing!! The lobster parceled with truffle sauce, to die for. New Years Eve is an experience, each year a different theme. Everyone is dressed to the nines, the champagne is flowing, music to dance to upstairs and downstairs and fireworks to ring in the new year. Yes it is pricey!!! But you get what you pay for and at the Ocean House it is all top shelf. Splurge and go, you won't regret it. You will make it a special occasion place for sure!! Can't wait to go back. Even if it's just to sit on the deck to have a Hugo Spritz and look out at the ocean or to get a glance at T Swift's house. Sorry no food pics, too busy enjoying it. Maybe in my next review

A Ruined Rhode Island Tradition - From World-Class to Disappointed…read more The Sunday brunch at the Ocean House used to be one of the crown jewels of Rhode Island. For years, we came back over and over again because it wasn't just a meal--it was an unforgettable experience defined by incredible food, impeccable service, and a grand atmosphere. We never minded paying the premium price tag because the memories and the quality were always worth it. But something has fundamentally recently changed at the Ocean House, and drastically for the worse. Our Sunday visit this weekend was a disaster from start to finish. Despite having a reservation, we were left waiting for 40 minutes alongside a crowd of equally frustrated guests. When we were finally seated, the shift in quality became glaringly obvious. A clearly overworked and exhausted staff tried their best to explain that the highlights of the old experience--the grand seafood towers, the curated meat and cheese trays, and the ability to order fresh dishes off a menu--are completely gone. In their place is a self-serve buffet aggressively crammed between dining tables, making navigating the room incredibly awkward. But the absolute worst part? There was almost no food. The famous seafood section was reduced to a melting bed of ice and a single, sad bowl of cocktail sauce that looked like guests had been begging for a refill. The hot stations were completely depleted--no eggs, no bacon, nothing. At one point, I took the very last strawberry from a platter and actually felt guilty doing so. If a luxury resort is going to pivot to a buffet model, they need to execute it properly. There needs to be room for guests to walk, and above all, the food stations must be kept stocked. Why ruin a wonderful, time-honored Rhode Island tradition? To charge top-dollar for an empty, chaotic buffet and a stressed-out staff is unacceptable. We are beyond disappointed and, sadly, we will never be back.

All the hotels were ok but none would let us check in early. We wanted showers so bad after that drive. My husband found this hotel online only a few miles from Connecticut. we called and talked to Al, who was so welcoming told us to come over and that he would check us in early! Got there the hotel is right on the water. We were greeted in the parking lot and given a parking spot . Check-in was easy rooms were clean. The neighborhood is so fun full of cute little shops. So happy that he found this hotel. When we checked out and were about three hours away from the hotel, we realized we left my daughter's favorite blanket in the room. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but this was a huge disaster! I called the office and Al said that he would go look for it, he called me back, found the blanket and actually took time out of his life to mail it to our house. So thankful for him and the staff at the hotel. They went above and beyond anything they had to do. I would highly recommend this cute hotel on the beach and the staff.

There is an elevator which is perfect if you can't do stairs or have a little too much to drink while out! Just the right amount of beach space with the ability to walk endlessly. We loved that there were quiet hours. We had the room across from the elevator/stairwell which ended up being perfectly quiet. Can't wait to book our next stay.

The staff was amazing! This is not about the staff. The staff were great accommodating kind... but…read morethe owners of the facility are being false with their advertisement.. there is no restaurant although there is a picture of one they order from the restaurant across the street. I have pictures and will give examples. 1-the showerhead, the water comes out and drops. There is no water pressure at all. It just trickles out of the showerhead.. my cousin was a large person and could barely fit in the shower. 2-the freezer was disgusting in the little tiny refrigerator. It was filled with what look like red juice frozen at the bottom of an un defrosted freezer.. 3-the closet is not a closet. It didn't even have a door. The only outlet you could use was in this " closet" with one hanger, there was also no hair dryer no coffee nothing we're talking serious bare minimum. 4-The paint was peeling 5-the bed was sitting on top of a wooden box frame handmade where big metal pieces came out and almost took my toe off! 6-they have pictures of lounge chairs everywhere on the beach. Let's be clear they did not exist nor did beach towels so not only do you not know that you have to bring your own beach towels to a beach Motel you have to bring your own chairs to sit on the beach.. if it wasn't for the staff, it would've got a worse review.. this place is down and dirty so if you're looking for something bare bones, this is your place. 7-housekeeping they said it came every day. The only thing housekeeping did was enter and do nothing except to give you a clean towel they didn't even take the dirty ones out..
