if I could give 0 stars I would for a million reasons. 1. outrageous increases every year 2. when they miss a pickup they offer to come back to get it for a $120 charge. 3. when I called to cancel it was never canceled & I was charged for another month. from there when I called they REFUSED to refund me the money on top of sending me a bill "anywhere from $80-$120 for a cancelation fee" & wouldn't transfer the payment from the month that was supposed to be CANCELLED as payment for their "fee". NEVER go through them, they are a SCAM & their online chat is useless, it will kick you off mid conversation & if you somehow get anyone on the phone they will keep transferring you. Absolutely horrible service! This company has gone downhill dramatically over the past few months. I can't get my garbage or recycling picked up on time. When I try calling I'm waiting on hold forever then I get nothing but ridiculous excuses why they are not doing their job. A couple weeks back I had 3 lousy extra garbage bags leaning on the bin and they had the nerve to move the bags, empty the garbage can and then proceeded to put the 3 extra bags in the garbage can and not pick them up. We used to love WM for many years! Their service was always reliable and on time. When you called to schedule a bulk pickup, they arrived in a timely manner, and everything was collected. Now the company is AWFUL! We scheduled a bulk pick up only for the driver to refuse the pick up due to the nature of the components. When we spoke to the customer service representative to see if they would collect cut up shed pieces, the representative spoke with her manager to verify if they could do it. After being on hold for a bit, she returned to share that they can pick it up, and would schedule the service. It's been 3 weeks now dealing with issues with getting this service taken care of. The items are still sitting at my crub after we were told they would be back to collect the items due to the fact that they customer service representative shared they could pick it up. My husband and I spent a who day cutting the pieces into 4x4 sections because we were advised they could not be bigger than that size. We also bundled the piles per the customer services request. I want my items picked up, however it's impossible to get this company to do anything correct or in a timely fashion! If you need waste services, I would look elsewhere. You don't want to deal with all of the headaches that this company is causing its current customers due to lack of staff and care for their customers. read more

Waste Management picked up my trash late three weeks in a row (I got a call confirming that it was delayed each time) and when I spoke to a representative about it they told me it was because my container wasn't out, which was wrong, and then ended the conversation before there was any resolution. My bill from Waste Management went up from $369.89 to $491.48. I tried to call customer service and all I get is recordings on the many times I have tried calling. I am a Senior citizen living on a fixed income with my husband who has a lot of medical problems. I wanted to get the cost lowered. I usually get the senior discount and 10% for paying ahead of time. I may have to change this company, because I can not afford this. Each year I would call up and they would change the price, but this year I can not get a hold of a live human being. Yestserday after 5 attempts to reach a human and being on hold for 45 minutes a piece I tried to use the chat feature. I was met with rudeness and snark. Immediately I called and signed up with their competitor in the area. This morning I am trying to cancel my WM service and have been transferred to 4 different people in another 35 minute phone call. So, I called, sat on the phone forever, hung up. Tried their chat. The virtual assistant is horrible. Finally got to a person, they made me wait on chat before responding each time for at least 1-2 minutes. Then told me they were really busy at the moment so I had to wait until whenever for them to get to me. Seriously, how many people do you have working there, 2? Get with it WM. In Knoxville, Waste Management has always been good. The guys went the extra mile for customers, and always waved as they drove by. I moved, and it's a different story. It took 3 days and many hours to get through to them on the phone to set up service. And then I find out they offer no recycle service. Throwing recyclables in the garbage can makes it fill up in a hurry, but they insist not to overfill the can. Their website talks about their concern for the environment and recycling, but that's not the case here. They talk a good talk, but that's about all. read more

Horrible company. In February they missed 3 weeks of pickups. Last week they didn't pick up again. They tried to say the garbage wasn't in the bin they left the prior week, but like picking up the garbage, they also don't drop off new bins. WM, don't bother posting a reply to this review asking us to contact you. My husband is on the phone constantly with you and you do less than nothing to fix the problems. These reviews are deplorable, but you don't care. So don't waste (no pun intended) your time pretending like you want to help any of your customers. There is a law of sowing and reaping. I left a scathing review on WM and WM called me to find out the issue. Multiple missed pickups was first issue. Most annoying issue - you can't ever contact them by phone and that's by design. Service was OK for a couple weeks after that first Complaint. My pick up day is Monday. Guess what I found that afternoon MY GARBAGE . Reason was alley way was blocked. So what!! After finding another service that was more than a hundred dollars a year cheaper, I cancelled my service. They informed me that it was a $75 charge to pick up the bins (The WM hub is a mile from my front door. $75 really?). Never been charged by any other refuse company when changing service companies. Then they said they would be by on the 3rd to pick up our bins. We brought them to the curb only to never have them picked up. Went on their website and found that the service was delayed by a day. No phone call or notification from them. There are cheaper options, without the ridiculous fees for cancelling their service, and an actual full size tote for your recycling instead of the little bin WM gives. WM is very inconsistent with pick up. WM also makes a mess 1/2 the time...leaving garbage, full garage bags and cardboard on the side of the road. I live in a multi-family home, so there are 2 garbage bins and 2 recycling bins. At least once a month, WM will only pick up one of each and/or leave one of either the garage or recycling untouched. At first, I ignored it, but then began to become a weekly to bi-weekly fiasco. I've called WM regarding the missed pickups and half the time someone would come out, but the other half I was stuck with either an already full garbage bin or recycling bin, leaving me to leave trash on the side of the bins come next pickup, which they don't pick up anyways. I DO NOT RECOMMEND WM. IF THERE IS ANOTHER OPTION, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE OTHER. I now use MODERN and I've had nothing but a great experience. They pick up both garbage and recycling weekly. Meanwhile I had prepaid for the service. now it's several weeks later and they only pick up the trash or the recycling. Never both. Going on three weeks where only one can has been emptied. I have called this company more than 20 times. It's always I'm so sorry. I'll take care of it. we have used waste management for close to ten years. the last few years our bill has gone up close to $20-$25 each billing cycle to the point where our last bill was $280. I was finally able to get through and cancel our service. $125 to cancel our garbage, this is the price that we pay for our new garbage service. I have been with WM for over 20+ years. Our neighborhood decided to go with one trash company. It is not WM because of cost, because MW is almost twice as much on a yearly basis. So, I'm trying to cancel my service contract. Four hours and counting. This is a JOKE. I've been given five different phone numbers from the various chat sessions and been online HOLDING for over three hours. Twice using their call back numbers which did happen BUT only to be put on hold... I did speak to a real person today, using a "special" priority number to again be sent to a different department which I am on hold again for over 25 minutes. Terrible company. Complete crooks. Started off with a promotional rate. I asked them when I started, how much the bill would go up after the 1 yr promotion was over. They said it would not significantly go up. During the first year my bill ranged from $25 to $32. After the first year they over doubled my bill to $57. After calling and complaining they lowered it to $52. This year they raised the bill to $70 and when I complained they would lower it to $62. All amounts are per month. They charge each month an administration fee of $8.50 if you do not have automatic payment and an additional $8.50 fuel surcharge. I had at one point had automatic payment, but they took out the amount when they were not supposed to so I stopped it. BUYER BEWARE. No customer service and rude on the phone. read more

I use to be a big supporter of WM until they changed the rules here in perinton. Weekly recycle went to 2 weeks with a bin. All is still good. Today I'm told by a note hung on my bin that they can't take any card board outside the bins. Sorry everyone had tons of cardboard due to online purchases. When I called to complain she told me sorry they can't pick anything up outside the bin with the automated trucks. Sorry our driver physically hooks our bin to the truck. waste management is the worst company by far that I've ever had to deal with. For the last two years I have struggled trying to get consistent pick up my trash. I signed up for two days a week and if I'm lucky they come once a week, I have repeatedly called to complain to have them come back out at first I was able to report a missed pick up online which was very effective. They would come the next day over six months ago. They changed their website so you can't actually report a missed pick up and when you call them often times you can't speak with a person and the system disconnects you , I have been hung up on. I have been talked down to and most recently I was given a whole lot of baloney. My garbage was missed on Tuesday. I called to report that my garbage was not picked up on Friday. I call to report that and was told they would be out to my residence that day. I waited until five and nobody came. When I looked on the website today I saw that it was an alert in my garbage would be picked up today at 2 o'clock. It's still has not picked up so I called. I was told that there would be no way to have pick up today. The service representative was very reluctant to give me a supervisor. The supervisor then informed me that because of my complaint, I would have my garbage picked up tomorrow, which is Tuesday my normal schedule today. I have never experienced such atrocious behavior from a company before I have never seen such a poor caliber workers employees And disregard. I will never recommend waste management as a company that anybody should do business with. They are insulting they are. Unresponsive and they're irresponsible.
