Well internet, IT EXISTS and I survived to tell the tale. The campground is in Desert Aire which is a little community south of Matawa on the Columbia River. lf you're interested in boating or want a base to explore the rest of the area this is a great place to stay. During memorial day weekend the place was full (so reserve online ahead), the people there were mostly families and it wasn't very noisy at night. If you have a boat, the boat launch was rebuilt this year and is really nice. Couple of downsides to keep in mind: there's only pit toilets and no showers, there's one water tap from a well near spot 14, it can get windy in the evening so if you have wind protection you can put up bring it, the grills are near the lake and not by the camp spots so if you have a portable grill/firepit etc. bring it too. Closest big grocery store is in Mattawa, but there's a gas station and convenience store in town.

I didn't get his name, but the attendant was very helpful, and he made some additional recommendations for the limited time we had. But the highlight was the array of souvenirs. We had struck out everywhere else we looked, but found a nice array of shirts, caps, and other goodies. Our family was very happy with the souvenirs we bought them. From the outside the place looks like it's closed, but it's a must visit!

Apparently this facility was recognized as the best Visitor's Center in the Pacific Northwest. It's a cute looking place, offering gratis coffee and donuts (which came at just the right time of day for me.) If you plan to visit vineyards in Zillah, you might purchase the "Wine Trail Passport" for $10. You'll get free entrée to several wineries and a number of discounts on purchases.

So here's 5 stars to A1. Anyway, every driver we've had has been great. They are timely & friendly and even though we live way out in the "sticks" and our road was covered in snow & icy they came to get us. Felt very safe. Luis drove very well and he was nice to talk to. By-the-way, cab companies here can be a challenge so it's nice to have a PROFESSIONAL company here locally.

After 12 hours of driving we stopped at the Bali-Hai motel to get a good sleep before the Sasquatch festival in the Gorge. When we arrived the owner/manager was very chatty [a little too chatty for two sleepy travellers]. He told us he had a cancellation and offered us a "deal" of 70$ for one night or 130$ for two nights - no tax. It seemed a little pricey for a motel, especially in a small town but since it was Memorial day weekend and we were tired we took the "deal". Once in the room I saw that the list price of the room on the door. It said, "54.00$ per night" so we didn't get a deal at all - we got ripped off! The place was very old but clean enough. The bed was surprisingly comfortable for a motel but I had a rough sleep because of the chirping birds outside...all night long! What kind of birds chirp 24 hours a day? I would stay here again in a pinch but I would make sure to get the right price.

On a recent motorcycle trip we found ourselves in Natches at dusk on a Monday. After asking around…read morefor a campground we saw a sign for lodging and food. The food was a lone bar called vans (dated but friendly and decent food) and a lone hotel. The woman answered the bell and agreed to show me her rooms and told me the price. 86 bucks later we found ourselves in a dated but clean and nice smelling room. Comfortable beds with good quality bedding were a nice surprise and we were tired so we went to sleep. In the morning we made some hotel provided coffee (very good) and enjoyed it at a cafe style table with real coffee cups and cloth napkins silverware. The towels were fluffy and heavy and the complimentary soaps and shampoos were great. For the money the amenities here far surpassed any I have experienced in hotels at twice the price. Great little find we highly recommend it.

Natchez Hotel I…read morechecked online for other places near our rafting trip and this was the closest that I was able to find that was inexpensive, and available. The person on the phone was helpful and laid back. This is definitely not a chain hotel nor is it a foofy B&B. The decor in the New Orleans room was meh. I asked the owner if there was wi-fi internet service and was told that internet was available in a specific area, but no wi-fi. FYI, I use TMobile=No Phone Service=No Edge. Pros - Near the "Y" at interstates 410 and 12, pretty good prices, mellow atmosphere. (YMMV) Cons - No cell phone service (for me), a couple of strange greasy stains on a couple of the pillow cases! yuck. One of the pillows smelled like cologne (unwashed?) Anyway, my experience with the Natchez Hotel is LIMITED, but I don't need much when i'm just staying for a quick "over-night". I just needed a place to sleep, and I would crash here again if it came down to it. I'll give it three stars because it borders between 2-3 stars.

I was stranded at an auto repair shop in the middle of nowhere. It was closing. My car was not…read moregetting fixed anytime soon. My husband called Yakima Valley Cab Company. Within twenty minutes they picked me up and took me all the way to Yakima so I could rent a vehicle. Uber wouldn't. Lyft wouldn't. Yakima Valley Cab Company did. And the cost per mile was good. Even better, as a nervous passenger after a long, terrible day, I got to enjoy a comfortable, safe trip in a car that smelled wonderful, with a driver who was wonderful and genuinely nice.

They even have nice car seats they have available for use for your ride. The vehicles are always spotless, no foul odors in them. I have been using this cab company for some time now sometimes alone other times with my children and I never have a issue.
