They…read moreare located in a beautiful spot, with a perfect view of the rest of the valley and Mt Adams, with gorgeous grounds, great wine, and a lot of features that just make it a nice place to visit. We came for a visit around lunchtime on Sunday, and were promptly seated with menus in a nicely shaded spot outdoors. You can truly spend a ton of time here just enjoying the view from the many shaded comfy seating areas outdoors, where you can admire the impeccable landscaping or the landscape itself. It did take a while for someone to come take our order, and we ended up having to wave someone down. If we weren't so hungry we probably wouldn't have been bothered by this at all, given that it's such a pleasant setting. After that, the pace of service was very good and we felt well attended to. We got the taste of treveri flight, a flatbread, a mezze platter, and the cajun fries. It seems based on my last review quite a few years ago that tastings were free then. That is not the case anymore, and most of the flights cost $20. If you buy two bottles of wine, then the tasting fee is waived I think for up to two tastings. Anyway, the flight was great, with a nice variety of sparkling wines that really showcased their range. Our favorites were the blanc to blanc and the syrah. The food was also pretty good, and I appreciated that they actually had substantial food here. I don't know how people manage to go wine tasting and then drive to their next spot without eating a real meal. My husband enjoyed the seasonal flatbread, which featured apples and walnuts. The cajun fries were solid. The chicken skewers and gyro type meat on the mezze platter were quite flavorful and juicy! I liked the variety of vegetables on the platter, although the olives could've definitely been better--they seemed like they'd been sitting in a jar for a while and had lost a lot of their texture. Keep in mind that prices for food here are definitely higher than you might see at a regular restaurant. The flatbread which was approximately the size of a six inch pizza, was $20, and the mezze platter was $35. Wouldn't pay those prices regularly, but since you can't bring in outside food, it's part of the experience here and I would say is worthwhile during a visit.

For the past several years, we have travelled to different areas for wine tasting. For all these…read moretrips, we have hired a wine tour company to create custom itineraries. In all these previous tours, we had excellent customer service. Unfortunately the experience we had with Elite Tours in Yakima was not excellent. First, we were told to make the reservations for our tour. On the website, it expresses that they take care of the details for a customized tour. In all our previous experiences, making reservations has not fallen to us. The reason we were told to make our own reservations was so vineyards wouldn't call the company, but all they needed to do was give them our name and phone number, thereby avoiding the annoyance. We were also not told we would need to make our own reservations until after we had paid them. Second, two of the vineryards on our itinerary were closed, which Elite Tours did not know until we told them. As a result, we had to spend more time calling places, emailing them and waiting for them to call me back. All in all we spent 2 to 3 hours of extra time to plan the details of a tour that should have been taken care of by Elite Tours. Third, the vehicle used for our tour was dirty with food crumbs, handprints and dirt on the floor boards. It appeared that no one had done any kind of cleaning of the vehicle for some time. While a tour vehicle does not need to be brand new, it does need to be cleaned and be clean for clients. This lack of cleanliness gave us the feeling that Elite Tours did not value us as clients. Fourth, our driver, on the first day, did not wear his seatbelt several times and my mother had to tell him to buckle up. He swerved many times on the road, while looking at the itinerary. When we asked him to move the Mercedes, so we could move my mom's car to a new location, he refused, telling us we had plenty of room. On the second day, while sitting at our table, he fell asleep at the table and it was 11:30 in the morning. We had to wake him up and let him know we were ready. I rarely ever want to complain about an employee because I recognize they are not responsible for all the problems with a company, but we were disappointed. Fifth, the driver told us that he could take us to another winery, which we went to, and arrived home about 45 minutes past our end time. Elite Tours wanted to charge us for this extra time. The driver did not tell us that it would be extra money and when we told the company this they did not charge us, but after spending $1200 plus tip, we were suspicious that they were trying to take advantage of us. We wrote this review after we emailed Elite Tours with our concerns and did not receive a reply. We requested a $200 refund and their silence suggested they did not care. We also texted them to let them know there was an email sent about our experience and we emailed them again to see if they wanted to respond to us. They did not.

I would rate this company in the negative category if that was an option. We have been to many…read moreareas wine tasting and have always hired a wine tour company to drive us and were always pleased until our experience with Elite Tours. They did not make the reservations at any of the wineries for us, which is the standard procedure. My daughter had to do all the work that they should have done. The car was filthy and the driver was substandard. When a complaint was submitted to the owner, he failed to respond. This shows that he cares nothing for his clients, only wants your money. DO NOT use Elite Tours!

We specifically picked Owen Roe to visit while in Yakama, given we enjoyed the Newburg, OR tasting…read moreroom (which I think is closed now). We sat outside, under a tree, with our pups. They bring the wine pre-poured in mini-carafe's (I'm sure there's a proper name for them), and include a "blind" pour that if you guess correctly, you win a prize (which I did not.) The outside area is spectacular, with trees for shade, the views for miles, and the feel of being somewhere special. Service was OK, they bring you pre-poured if you sit outside, and they may check back in on you if they aren't too busy. It seemed our server was on the new side, and she told us 4 times she had only been there a few days. Inside, I think it might be a more traditional experience, but can't confirm. There is also a good-sized seating area inside - and you're able to see the other vintage/varietals available for purchase. Wines by the glass are available, but not for everything, and only for bottles they have already opened. I wanted to try their Sangiovese, but they weren't pouring it, and bummer they didn't have one open to taste - I would have loved to try it. I recommend (based upon my palate) the Abbot's Table and the Sinister Hand (fun background story as well). I didn't care for the rose - it was sweeter than I prefer. Regardless, come visit and you're bound to find something to suit your taste. So why 4-stars? I just have high expectations of servers when I'm tasting wine, and I didn't get the feeling that ours knew the product well, so I didn't feel like I would get much education (which is part of why I, myself, enjoy wine tasting - to learn something new).

They have an onsite kitchen and is a very popular spot for wine and lunches. They are dog friendly on the patio only. You get to taste about 8 wines for $30 Or fee is waived with a purchase of any two bottles. Tasting did not disappoint from their whites to red. They have a variety for all taste buds. I loved all their Cabs. They have a mix of 100% Cab to some with Merlot and Cab Franc. All were delish and as I was tasting I kept thinking of food items these would pair well with. Of course we purchased half a case variety of red wines. Venue is super clean, great vibe and super friendly staff. Darcy and Alex were both amazing. We will definitely be going back here when in the area.

I absolutely adore this winery: the wine, the space, the people, the food, and the community…read more The Wine: The wines are consistently amazing and are made to be aged, without the usual high price tag that comes with that. I like bold, flavorful wine, and they have that in spades. I thought I hated Merlot, for being generally weak, but Terra Blanca's Merlot is fantastic. I thought I only liked red wine, but their Albarino is now my go-to summer white wine. I thought Rose was too sugary of a wine, but their Rose has incredible flavor without heft. I'm an enduring fan of their Block 8 Syrah, but the Cab Sauv is a close second. The Space: It's gorgeous. The building is beautiful, the grounds are well-maintained, the vineyard (which you can tour at some of their events) feels old-world-meets-tech, the cellars are amazing, and everything feels welcoming. Like, I don't just want to go here, I want to spend time here. The People: The employees are wonderful: welcoming, knowledgeable, happy, humble, and it never feels like they're just trying to sell you something. They're honest and upbeat, even at times when I *know* they must be feeling rushed or stressed. It makes the whole place feel like hanging out with friends and neighbors (but in a classy way). This is *not* the kind of winery where they pour, recite a litany about the varietal, and walk away. This is the kind of winery where you can walk in and say "I know nothing about wine" and they'll be excited to take you wherever your curiosity about wine takes you. The Food: I've eaten at the Thursday happy hours, at buffet banquets, and at a tasting/pairing event. Each time the food has been delicious, unique, and well-paired. And it's all from scratch, locally grown & grazed, etc. even their charcuterie boards are lovely (and a lot...you will not leave hungry). I recommend trying the flatbread pizzas off their wood-fired grill. Oh, and the menu changes quarterly, so I've yet to get bored with anything. The Community: In addition to this place feeling like a community, and growing one with their wine clubs and virtual tasting group, they're involved in the Tri-Cities community. I love when local small businesses support each other and non-profits in the area! They have regular events and banquet fundraisers for orgs like Children's Developmental Center and TROT. Oh, the prices? I'd call them good. High enough to convey the quality, but low enough to be approachable even for people who are just starting to try wine. And they do a lot of sales and discounts throughout the year. The tasting room prices are spot-on, which keeps Terra Blanca feeling inclusive. TL;DR: Tasty wine at affordable prices, great customer service, welcoming atmosphere, excellent food, fun events
