I am confident the 3 wonderful reviews he has planted on his website are likely fraudulent marketing. Unfortunately Power House Home Improvements gives real, licensed, insured, professionals a bad rep. I hope this helps others avoid being taken advantage of like she has been. At first Bryan showed up and presented well and seemed competent. Not wanting to pay a professional $1,000 to freshen up an old tub that we would be removing in a year or so we decided to see if a handyman could help. Re-glazing a tub with a home center product is a pretty simple homeowner ability task. We did not expect a perfect professional finish but what we got was worse than sad and insulting. Bryan made it terribly costly, ugly, and left Kristen without her only tub or shower for months, having only a vanity sink at which to wash herself. Kristen had asked Bryan if he could 'reglaze' her tub and he agreed. He charged $300 which we paid up front and told us to buy the product. We quickly found out he was careless, inexperienced and didn't even follow the directions on the product. He did what most 8-year olds could do and simply brushed the product over the chipped tub with no sanding, patching or preparation. The brush he used left deep marks in the coating. He painted not only the tub but up the wall and over the chrome plumbing parts too! Unknown to us the epoxy dripped down the drain and hardened, plugging the pipe. The coating bubbled up when curing and needed to be re-done (see photo). After the coating cured and we tried to run water we discovered he had clogged the drain. We talked with Bryan and we agreed to hire a plumber. Bryan agreed to pay $120 of the cost for plumbing repairs. The drain was so plugged it could not be rodded and a plumber had to go under the house and cut out the plumbing. In the end the total cost was around $800. The plumber had empathy for Kristen and deeply discounted his fee. Bryan was contacted repeatedly for the $120 but he does not return our calls or answer messages and it is after over a dozen attempts at texting, calls and messages - in an attempt to give him an opportunity to make this right and stand by his word that we are now must give an honest review. Everyone can have a bad day and some jobs can go sideways but Bryan has shown not only to be incompetent and careless but dishonest and apathetic as well. Powerhouse Home Improvements is not listed with the BBB. It seems to me the company dishonestly, and quite probably illegally, claims to be licensed and insured. This 'company' is nothing more than a man with no experience, training or competence, driving a rotted out truck, looking to collect a quick buck from unsuspecting people.
