The station is really just a structure where the train can stop. There are restrooms, but they are locked after 3 pm. I'm not sure about the weekends. The women's hadn't been swept in about a week, but over all they were clean and everything worked.
The best part about the stop is Hoyett's Sandwich Shop about 2 blocks away. From the station, walk 1 block west and take a right, then walk one block north. It's small dinner, but what it lacks in size it makes up in friendly service and good food. We had breakfast and we felt welcome to stay as long as we wanted. Which was great since our train home was still 2 1/2 hrs away.
Our trip was for "pleasure." We took our 4 yr old son on his first train ride. There was not much to do within walking distance from the station, but we filled our time. We bought a small ball at one of the shops and kick it around after breakfast while we waited for the train.
I'm not sure I'd do it again, but we made good memories and I give that part 5 stars. read more
