It's a KOA behind a truck stop - but if that sounds alright to you this is a great quick stop for camping close to the highway. The views were actually quite picturesque (on the non-truck stop side). All the amenities you need are available and serviceable though a little run down. Laundry, pool, playground, dog park, picnic tables at each site, good wifi. Hosts were friendly and helpful. And there's a Punjabi food truck available on site breakfast through late night! As well as chain options and a large grab and go selection at the truck stop. Drip irrigation uses well water that's a bit sulfury which was off-putting when the water first switched on but not a big deal once the source was discovered. read more

Perfect stop to break up the long drive between Sacramento and Los Angeles. We were particularly glad we planned it this way since it was very windy and there was heavy traffic. Awesome glad to be able to pull in for the night. Full hookups, but we only used electric since we were leaving early the next morning. RV park has easy access off the highway, and nice pull-through sites so we didn't have to unhook our tow vehicle. Although fairly close to the freeway, we didn't really hear the traffic. What we did hear were idling big rigs, because the park is near a truck stop. We had a sound machine, so we plugged it in and listened to rain, which drowned out the trucks pretty well. I took a nice walk around the park. Located next to the park is a field that contained about a dozen goats. Cute. There seemed to be only a few long term residents, and their sites were relatively uncluttered. Overall, the perfect midway stop. read more

Lost Hills KOA RV Park, Lost Hills, CA - November 18, 2023 We arrived at Lost Hills KOA RV Park at about 4:30 PM on a Saturday afternoon. Checkin was a breeze. We had a full hookup site with a cement patio pad and picnic table. We had a pull through site on decomposed granite. It had rained all day as we were driving down from Sacramemto and the ground was wet but not muddy. It's a very clean well maintained park, with about 75 sites. They have a store, pool, kids play area, laundry room, showers, dump station, and propane. It's perfect for a layover going for one destination to another. There can be a little traffic noise due to truck stop next door. We plugged in our sound device to produce the sound of rain that blocked out most of the background noise. We only connected to the electrical since it was just an overnight stay. They had great Wi-Fi where we were (Site 1). We were able to stream one of the channels we like on YouTube. read more

Ok I gave 3 stars but for what I used it for and I think what most would use it for probably higher rating. This is a pit stop for long travels with Rv. It's not a destination. As a pit stop it's great. The pull through site I got was very big and easy to get into. The roads are paved but sites are gravel but pretty level. There is a pool a playground and a horseshoe pit. Bathrooms and showers are old but clean. The skinny an older park but clean with friendly staff. Plenty of fast food and gas nearby. For a pit stop it's great but wouldn't want to spend a week here. read more

We stayed at Lost Hills KOA on a trip down I-5 from the Bay Area to San Diego. It is just at the halfway point. We stayed in pull-thru site A6 with our 28' TT. It looks like all sites are pull-Thru and FHU with 20/30/50 amps. The site was level, the grounds were clean. Each site has a new concrete pad with a new picnic table. The actual RV parking area at the sites are gravel. The interior roadways were newly paved, the WiFi was decent enough to stream on my iPhone, and it was far enough from I-5 that there was no freeway noise. The pool and children's play structure looked nice and in good condition. The dog area is fenced in and has the tools every dog owner needs. We Did not use the bathrooms or showers. Plenty of fuel and food options in the area. I would recommend this KOA if your traveling down I-5 and need a place to stay. read more

Decent RV park for a great rate. It's right off the freeway and near fueling stations and restaurants-mainly fast food with one Denny's. I agree with all the other reviewers who mention how quiet it is here! The sites are gravel with room between (so nice after being right next to someone!). They gave us a long one that fit us -thought a tree blocked out satellite. It was just fine-we watched a movie. It is easy off and on the freeway which made it perfect for one night. The Lost Hills RV Park was a very pleasant place to stay. Our family was there for just the day/night, but the front staff was excellent with accommodating us. We even had the chance to meet their resident sweetheart Ricky who was an added bonus to the stay (see pic). Everything was very close accessibility wise, showers and restrooms were well kept and the showers were nice and hot; we were even able to enjoy the pool and playground. The only reason these great folks got 4 out of 5 was because of their Wi-Fi connection, but that's if you're being nit picky like me :-), otherwise all were politely following social distancing and as avid RVers in CA I am sure we will be back. When I was checking in the registration person had her cell phone up to her ear the whole time. The store is not a store. The registration area looks like a Motel 6 in a bad area. Registration lady didn't face me when she was talking until she handed me the paper. Then she was talking so fast I didn't get everything she was saying. Store closes at 5. Pull through site. OK we had to unhook, even though there were larger spaces available near the restroom. One review says there is a concrete slab at each site? It is for a picnic table with bird poop all over it. Little shade. The trees are dessert trees and many are new. The pool looked ok. Our gravel site has small pieces of broken glass, spotty gravel, we have a dog. There's no place to walk the dog because the canine camp looks like a hot dirt lot. The restrooms were clean. It's off the road which we knew but not that truckstops are all around. No restaurants on this exit. A few fast food places. No cable and can't get the wifi on our tv. It's just an overnight spot but should not be at this price point. read more

For a KOA campground in the middle of the desert, it was fine. We only used it for our caravan of three campers to rest for the night. However, it was clean and well kept AND available last minute for our group. I don't have a high bar for KOA in the middle of no where, so it deserves 4 stars just for the cleanliness and the other clientele. read more

We stayed at this location for a few days while visiting Bakersfield. It is a great location with friendly staff and well kept grounds. The spots are very wide with nice tree shad. The only thing I warn you on is the HOT WEATHER! We had to wait until sundown to cook dinner and breakfast before sunrise. Stopped in for a night and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and cleanliness of the park. It was hot for a dip in the pool was great. The staff, particularly Ruban, is outstanding and very helpful. Ruban just happened to be bar b queuing and to our delight brought my wife and I some of the best ribs (and all the fixings) we've ever had. Also saw Ruben helping out a camper to fix a flat tire. Did not like this park First they placed us in the spot that was literally the farthest from any facilities( pool, laundry and showers)-and right next to a huge class A with a tow car sticking out so far into the drive that you have to go into the dirt to get by...wtf??? The park was almost empty-WHY would you place 2 rigs right next to each other at the furthest spot out in the park? Most spots are barely 30 feet deep- way too small especially if you tow or have a 5th wheel. The entrance is surrounded by a pilot and loves truck center...with deep potholes everywhere. We tried to drive our rig over to get soda- but there was simply no place to fit!! And so many stinking rude dumb truck drivers- Loves is terrible anyway, but this one was also under construction. Just a hassle- but the park is new- just terrible layout of tiny greedy little spaces. For $60 a night, I was completely underwhelmed... Cannot recommend- not a good deal for the facilities offered read more

We are new to KOA. The website indicates that campfires were allowed. We mistakenly started a file in what turned out to be a drainage ring. The owner came over and started screaming at us. I told him we did not know and he just kept going on and on about how we should have known and how much work it would be to fix. We were 2 women camping alone and this guy keeps yelling even after I told him we hear you. He was very aggressive. I may be an idiot because we didn't know the rules, but I looked everywhere on the website for a campground rule list and there was nothing. There were no campground rules posted anywhere on the property or at check in. There were no signs anywhere indicating that fires were Not allowed at the site. And this guy yelled at us for 10 minutes. I was not disputing that we damaged the site but he h started out right off yelling and would not stop. I asked him to back off and finally told him to get away from us. He's still yelling as we are packing to leave and saying he was going to charge is. I said you have my credit card, charge it and leave me alone. In addition, the site was basically a parking lot in the dessert. Just dirt and rows of hookups. This was day one Of my camping trip, which was so upsetting, we were sad, embarrassed, and felt two Inches tall. For the rest of the trip all we could think about was how stupid we were at camping and the trip was ruined. read more

Park is right off freeway - easy access. A lot of traffic & a lot of semis but I didn't find noise to be an issue, at all - day or night. Staying here a week & really enjoyed it. A lot of fast food restauraunts & of course a Denny's very close by - walking distance. When ya' leave park - you can even pay to have RV washed @ truck shop. Nicole at front desk/office is awesome! I've seen reviews where people wrote "no one in office" - well, they have an off hours registration box outside, at entrance, Nicole & her husband work @ office/park 7-days/week -and- they reside on the premises -and- they have a 24/7 telephone number posted, so these reviewers need to stop whining & figure it out & realize staff need breaks - even @ RV parks! This place has the best grassed, large, fenced-in doggy park! My dogs (and I) loved it! We went everyday & I was able to relax and wear them out, playing. And speaking of dogs.....I DO NOT KNOW THE DEAL WITH YOU DOG PARENTS WHO DON'T PICK-UP YOUR DOG'S SHIT! YOU know who UR, and I encounter these types of inconsiderate, lazy "parents" everywhere - YOU type of "people" give us dog parents a "bad rap" (not to mention - it's irritating & disgusting to "clean up" after these types, or worse...step in THEIR dog's shit because THEY just don't give a crap (no pun...)! Park has no cable, but I knew this beforehand, and I didn't want TV reception anyway, or you just use your own satellite/receiver - if ya' have one. Entire park is desert-like (all sand - few trees) - which also I knew beforehand & don't mind it, so it's one's preference. So, RV slips are sand, but very level; in fact, I didn't even have to use my jacks. There are spots with tress and there are amazing views of massive open land & mountains. Lots of birds. Great weather. Very peaceful all day, all night. Also, I don't know why (some) reviewers - those crank muffins who walk thru rose gardens & only see thorns - often make comments about "long termers" - here/ANYWHERE (and really....don't know why I am even mentioning it - besides that it irritates me when reviewers reference "them"/us/me). I am a full-time RVer & many of my "neighbors" here are long-termers, and the few whom I've met - are very nice, very quiet, respectful of space, and the ENTIRE park is very clean, well-maintained, safe, and well managed. I love this place and will certainly stay again, and I highly recommend this place to relax! read more

We stayed at Lost Hills campground just overnight. We were impressed at how clean and upgraded since the last time we were there. The morning after out stay we were getting ready to leave and realized that we had lost the plug for our tow car. My husband went out to buy another one another one but for some reason we couldn't get it connected. The manager of the campground happened to be driving by. He stopped and we explained what was happening. He stayed there and helped us until we got it together and were able to leave. His friendliness and helpfulness will never be forgotten and we will always recommend KOA and especially the Lost Hills KOA to anyone looking for a place to stay with their motorhome/trailer. read more

We pulled into Lost Hills yesterday afternoon a few minutes after 3:00. There was a man on an old and very loud tractor pulling a blade around the grounds to clear off half an inch of sand and silt that was everywhere. It looked as if the place had been flooded. The sign on the locked door said someone would be back at 3:30. Three other rigs pulled in behind us as we waited for the office to re-open. As I walked around to check the place out, a woman yelled from her trailer door (and I do mean YELLED, and I still couldn't hear her over the tractor's loud, backfiring engine) that I could pick a site in row 7 and she'd be back in the office at 3:30. The sites in row 7 all seemed too small to accommodate our 40-foot motorhome and Jeep and the wet sand/silt everywhere would have made even our one-night stay dirty and miserable. We opted to move on. Being closed in the middle of the afternoon is not acceptable. And, I have no idea what this park is like under normal circumstances. There has been lots of rain and weather is certainly out of their control. But, I just want to post our experience and readers can judge accordingly. read more

This well kept RV Park is conveniently located near several gas stations and restaurants within walking distance. Staff was friendly and spots were clean with several trees providing much appreciated shade. It was a bit too hot for the horse shoe pit but man we enjoyed the pool, which was large and sparkling clean. There is also a small play ground and a fenced in dog park for your kids and fur kids. Overall a nice little rest spot in the desert. read more

The location is not necessarily one of a vacation, but given the close proximity to I-5, fuel, and food; this is a great campground for an overnight stop. read more

Friendly staff, easy pull through spots. It was clean. If there were 30 day residents there was no evidence as all spots were tidy with no piles of stuff around. Only complaint we were across from dog park and smell was so bad we decided not to make breakfast and just hit the road. read more

This RV park is the perfect stopping place when going back to Southern CA from Chico. It puts us four hours from home so we can beat some of the 405 traffic. They staff have always been pleasant. With construction on the highway to enter the park, it is a challenge though. It was disappointing the person taking my reservation did not tell us to turn left at the Chevron station because the main road to the park was blocked off due to the major construction. Not knowing that we went to Loves to gas up. Now we had to sit through at least five lights to turn left, then inch our way to the Chevron station to make a right and take the access road in. Needless to say I was not a happy camper. It is a great stopover spot, just don't miss the turn at the Chevron station coming off I-5 until the construction is complete. read more

Perfect overnight RV Stop! Full hookups, clean parking lot. Easy reservation via phone. Affordably priced at $42 for the night. No homeless ppl near the area. This park felt very calm and safe. Although we were only less than 1/4 mile to a truck gas/overnight area we didn't hear the trucks at all at night. Slept so good. Great place to stop half way between hollister and acton. We stopped at this RV park to rest halfway through our road trip and it had everything we needed. Our site had plenty of space for our tent trailer. It had a full hookup available. It has a nice little dog park, part grass, part dirt. It was spacious and one of the cleanest dog parks I have seen. The bathrooms are very clean. They have showers, a laundromat, a small park with swings and a slide. Next to this was a nice sized pool. The whole place is well kept. You can tell it is taken care of with love and attention to detail. The staff were very welcoming. We went across the street for tacos at a stationed taco truck, but there are also plenty of other fast food places nearby and within walking distance. Oh. One more thing. I reserved my spot by phone ahead of time. I didn't get the usual email confirmation. They said they are a mom and pop place and they would just have the map with our site taped to the office door. They did. It was an easy and smooth check in. I'm so happy we found this place. Now we have a new go to spot to stop and rest on our trips. read more

Spent our Labor day weekend here....we were pleasantly suprised.....we were very comfortable even though it was a very HOT weekend....the pool was inviting and the staff was accommodating Stephanie in front office was very helpful and pleasant......Rueben was also very helpful making sure everything ran smoothly and was safe.....Park is very conveniently near HWY5/HWY46 very easy on and off access. alot of gas stations and fast food within walking distance...but you would never know due to the fact the property itself is very quiet.......Ill definitely be back..... read more

We stay here two nights a week during hunting season.... So we don't need much. The staff has always been pleasant and quite helpful. They have PROPANE on the property!!!! - which is SO nice. Lots of fast food with in easy walking distance - several big truck stops for gas or your candy fix. Just bought out and turned back into a KOA - they are spending a ton of money to bring it back up to a nicer campground. Basically a overnight stop - but I definitely feel safe here. read more

Just leaving the newly refurbished Lost Hills RV park. Now that it is part of the Good Sam family it's REALLY improved. New divider fences and a good coat of paint have done wonders. It's a fine place to stop before or after tackling The Grape Vine on I-5.This park is not new but currently very well maintained. It is the only place close to the Grape Vine on I-5 and is a safe place to stop for the night. The owners are trying very hard to keep it clean and well maintained. read more
