Used the service for a trip to Spain. I needed transportation to LAX from Santa Maria. I tried to book online but kept getting a code required message that was supposed to be sent to my email. I never got the email. I tried this for several days and gave up and called to book. Booking by phone was fast and the operator was helpful and informed. She did not know why I was having trouble booking online. She said you could eat/drink in the vehicle but to not leave a mess. Total cost for roundtrip transport for my situation was just under $180. On the day/time of my transport, I parked my car in the general airport parking lot (free). I had to fill out some paperwork because my car was going to be there for more than 2 weeks. Shuttle was ready at the scheduled time. We made stops in Buellton and a rest break in Ventura. Driver was good but spoke very little English. A/C was functioning properly as it was hot outside. There is no form of entertainment (TVs), outlets to charge your electronic devices (phone), or WiFi. This is definitely a good service for the cost. read more

I have used their services for many years now. They usually arrived earlier than scheduled and their pick up was mostly on time. My last experience with Joe started well, but didn't end that way. He reminded all passengers to silent their phones and to avoid phone calls because it disturbs other passengers. I thought that was great, after a long flight I didn't feel like hearing someone else's conversation or reels. Though ones we got into the van, Joe turned on the radio!! It was very annoying. Santa Maria Central Coast Shuttle is HORRIBLE!! My daughter was returning from an international trip. They sent her a text yesterday to confirm her pickup time at LAX today, but then did not show up. They did not text or call or notify her in any way about the delay. She finally called and talked with Kan, the supervisor, and he said that there was no 8:30pm driver, that it got canceled because the driver was sick. Kan said he knew yesterday that the driver would be out sick, and that someone from the office should have notified her, but no one did. Kan said they would try to have someone pick her up in about one hour. The driver, Sergio, did pick her up 65 minutes late, but he had a totally different story of why he was late. Sergio said that he was the scheduled driver but he had gotten a call earlier today that other passengers were getting in later and needed a ride, so he had to wait for them until they arrived. Either the supervisor does not know what is happening, or they are lying. Either way, not a trustworthy company!! read more

Unreliable. Flew in from Australia. Horribly jet lagged. Waited for my scheduled shuttle and it never showed up. They did notify me by text or email of the cancellation. So I have to sit outside with no amenities on a hard bench for hours until the next scheduled shuttle. This isn't the first time they've done it. They have no back up drivers if someone decides to call in sick. They don't care about their customers. Also I tried to contact them through their website. It said it was sending my message but there is no indication that it went through. Either it's broken or poor programming. read more

Extremely rude, I would not recommend this sub par service. We had our kids going on a trip out of the country and first they moved our time from 12:30 to 10:30am then they wouldn't even stay till 10:30 for parents to say their goodbyes. We paid $250.00 each for 15 kids and they couldn't even let us parents say goodbye. The guy was very rude and made rude comments to us. Inconsistency, poor/lack of communication and bad customer service makes anyone upset. This service worked for me until drivers repeatedly asked for more money in person after I already paid online. The mobile interface for the website needs updating to make all fees more clear. I have changed my dates for reservations twice. The first time I was not charged for changing the date. The second time I learned that I was charged an extra $4 when the driver stated I had a balance. I called the company to discuss the matter and that was when I was told that it costs $4 to change a reservation. That should have been explained when I changed my reservation over the telephone. About 30 minutes after I was picked up the driver stated I owed an additional $20 for having an extra piece of luggage. This did make me upset and I called the company. I have the same amount of bags I had when I got on the shuttle 9 days ago, and the driver did not ask me to pay an additional $20. Apparently there is a camera in the shuttle and drivers can allegedly get in trouble for not reporting extra luggage. Although I clearly told the person I spoke to over the phone about these issues that I refused to pay, I paid what I believe is an erroneous $20 fee due to my faith beliefs. Note that drivers do not have receipt books so you take a chance giving cash to pay any on demand payments. I called the company line to make the payment by telephone. The customer service is typically 50/50. Sometimes it is great, other times it is okay, and today it was the pits. I have decided not to utilize this service again and hope to relocate from this wretched area soon!! read more

Use at your own risk!!! If your flight has any delays or you need to make any changes in your reservation, you're out of luck. We liked them for the first time, due to ease of booking, second time we're out over $140 due to snow storms. They were nice act on the phone like they are flexible for plane schedules, but they are in fact not. If you spell a name wrong or your flights cancelled, they take the money. I was looking forward to taking the shuttle to LAX on my way to a great Mexican vacation. My experience was very subpar. The website pictured a full size passenger van but what was waiting for me was a minivan stuffed with seating 7 or 8 passengers. The interior was cramped and in poor shape. I expected better from a nearly $200 round trip fare. The return trip was in a bigger van, in better shape but still cramped. Worse though was that they kept me waiting on the curb at LAX for 45 minutes past the scheduled pickup, a terrible end to a long travel day. Then we got to the Santa Maria airport around midnight and of course it was pitch black. The driver got my bags out of the back and said good night, leaving me alone to find my way back to my car. read more

I am giving this company a 1 star because there appears to be a lack of caring for their customers. I am currently sitting on the 12:01PM Bus out of Santa Maria Airport to LAX, roasting in my seat because they appear to not want to fix the air conditioning. The driver apologized at the beginning of the trip stating that he has repeatedly advised the company about the broken AC however they refuse to do anything about it. There are small windows that circulate the air when we are moving, but for those of you who are well acquainted with the 405 freeway, you know that there is stop and go from the 101 all the way to LAX. To the company... I fly at least 2-3 times per month out of Los Angeles and Burbank... I decided to give this option a try. If you aren't going to take some of my $75 plus the other 13 passengers on here who paid the same to fix your AIR CONDITIONER on this shuttle, then you are going to lose customers. I have heard several of your other customers on this shuttle alone complain and say they will not use your service again, me included. Listen to your driver's and fix the problems then bring to you. They are the ones who have to listen to us whine about things like this because you refuse to fix this issue. read more

DO NOT use this service, THEY WILL LEAVE YOU even if you are on time. I have had a good driver or two no doubt, however; this company has no structured system for reliability. I have been left behind twice after being on time at the destination that they always pick people up at. When I called in to management they called me a liar and said I was not there to be picked up, after waiting an hour and a half they picked me up in the exact spot I had been waiting at since before the scheduled pick up time. You will not get a refund and you will be disrespected by management if you call in to inquire as to why they did not follow their schedule that is always the same. The majority of their seating is fixed, old bucket seats that are completely uncomfortable. The driver stops wether you like it or not so they can take a break halfway through a 3 1/2 hour drive. Furthermore during two trips that I had to take because of a lack of other options, I had older couples terrified because of the reckless driving that was being committed by the obviously far less than professional driver. Rent a car! Do not take this shuttle if you have any other options. read more

The Driver's are amazing people, thier very helpful, understanding, patient, and friendly! Some down sides, they sometimes pick you up an hour early because they have others to pick up, so be understanding, and they may pick you up 30 or more mins late, but they get over booked. So charge your phone's and be understanding, it's not their fault! And remember, it's a free ride lol.. as for the office either thier super nice or super rude! Stay calm lol.. Remember to make your appointment 48 before, but I'd call and confirm day before if they don't .. they don't always log your info right or at all. You can book for the whole month too, but remember to cancel if you need to. It helps the drivers not waste thier time and I can guess the office will go just don't, piss the office off TRUST ME!!! CCS is a great value and has quality drivers, but does need to address some issues. Phil L Service's, well, service and entertaining nature turned what would be a four-star rating into a five-star rating. Expecting to turn to my ebook to pass the time traveling back to the central coast, I was pleasantly surprised to have Phil L Service as my driver. Not only did I find myself entertained by his stage-like performance introducing himself and explaining what we would expect to take place during our trip, I enjoyed conversing with him about all sorts of intellectually stimulating matters. If you are so lucky to have Phil L Service as your driver, you will have a professional driver that highly regards passenger well-being. Drawbacks from my experience with CCS include a poor online presence and odd company policies. I took a leap of faith to use this service due to difficulty learning what to expect using their services. I did not receive an emailed receipt declaring I booked travel to and from LAX after setting up my reservation. My questions were answered when I spoke with customer service, but I'm not used to paying over $100 without documentation. Thankfully, I showed up for my reservation, received a receipt, and made my trips to and from LAX without difficulty. As for odd company policies, both my drivers to and from LAX were surprised to find new regulatory devices in their vehicles without prior notice. I did not know that there would be a camera viewing the passengers in the vehicle or that I would have to listen to a computer voice, blaring into the vehicle, prompting the drivers to adjust aspects of their driving. My drivers drove professionally and not once did I feel endangered by their driving. The prompts, on the other hand, were not helpful and often could have caused unsafe driving conditions.I have NO IDEA how footage from the camera is used by the company. There was NO PROMPTING before scheduling that I WOULD BE ON CAMERA. I hope the company declares they are implementing these for future customers. CCS is a great value! Adding up gas and parking expenses and convenience, I will definitely use CCS for future trips. I would like to see more features using the website: affordances (free parking at Santa Maria Airport!), emailed receipt declaring reservation created with payment information, and a more user-friendly website layout (confusion how to schedule my trip). read more

BE CAREFUL. HORRIBLE RUDE TREATMENT FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NOT WILLING TO HELP AT ALL. Yesterday 06/03/2019, I lost a bag in LAX. The shuttle bus picked us up at area number-2. The driver gave us a paper to find our names and write our initials on it. While he opened the back door and started to load the bags. He told us that it was okay to go inside the bus as he continued loading, accommodate the bags and closed the door. He was also making a phone call. When we arrived to Santa Maria, My bag was missing. We run to check the other passengers bags but no one had it. I am sure that it got forgotten on the sidewalk at the pick up location. I sent a polite email asking them to help me and also called the central coast shuttle phone number to leave a message but a guy answered. After I explained him he got VERY RUDE and said there is nothing they can do and it was my responsibility. That I suppose to handle my bags to the driver and make sure he loads them in. Does that mean that I cannot trust their driver if he says, go ahead. Get in. I'll load the bags?? Even though in that bag is pretty much all the clothes I have, is not a big deal. But the response I got, it is. They offer a " LOSS OF BAGGAGE AND PERSONAL EFFECT " Insurance in their website. BUT, of course because my bag didn't get to be inside the little bus, it doesn't qualify. BE AWARE. Not good at all. I hope no one has to go through the same experience. read more

Terrible experience! Read this and the reviews below! This is an awful company! DO NOT BOOK with them!! I booked a round trip from Santa Maria to LAX the way down was quick and easy. I had expected the same on the way back. I arrived to the LAX airport two hours prior to the shuttle pick up. An hour prior to the scheduled pick up the owner called to tell me a driver called out and they wouldn't be coming until 8:30. This was at 4pm. Although it was a "mere 2.5 hours" out of my scheduled day, the owner wasn't willing to do anything for the inconvenience. I very much felt as if it was an "oh well/too bad for you" moment. After a long flight and a tight schedule ahead I had depended on this shuttle service to get me back on time. He should have refunded my return trip. Instead he said his hands were tied and couldn't do anything. He's the owner he could do plenty! I completely understand being in a tough situation but in order to keep business he should focus on keeping customers happy and returning. I'm not happy nor will I ever use his services again and I'll be sure to let all local people (where his company is based) know about the inconsistency, and inconvenience of his shuttle service. read more

I booked a trip with them in January but had to cancel, it took them a FULL week to even begin to process my refund (minus 10%). I was patient and just called to check in on it after a week and woman on the phone told me that the manager, Blanca, was not in but that she would call me the next day. WELL the next day came and NO CALL. So I call back and the same thing.. "she will call you tomorrow when she is in". The next day SAME THING, NO CALL. Going on week 3 and still NO returned phone call and no refund. I call back AGAIN and AGAIN, no Blanca. So I speak to a man who was incredibly rude. Unprofessional - Do yourself a favor and do not use this service. The driver was nice but there was a big sign near the front stating that tips were greatly appreciated. One can assume that the drivers don't get paid well. The actual "shuttle" was really a passenger van and the seats were the cloth kind, not a material that cleans well. The company seems shady or at least the owner is. For my job, I need to send receipts in order to be reimbursed. I have several times tried to call this place and every time it takes me a few calls to finally get someone at the end. The first few times the man said he will try to email me the receipts, days later I see nothing in my inbox. I call him again, he says he can text me my receipt...who does this? What company doesn't have the ability to email a simple receipt? So I give him my number thinking he'll maybe send me a clear scan of the receipt. Nope, just a picture, which is not good enough for my job's reimbursement. I text him back to please email me the receipt and I give him my email. No reply for days. I called again today to talk to him and no one answered the company phone number, but shortly after he called from his phone. Every time I talked to this man he just wants to end the conversation and get on with his day, no consideration for what I'm asking for...and it's so simple! The ride to LAX from SMX was great, big bus, not too crowded. The ride from LAX to SMX a nightmare. First we had to wait on the median submerged in toxic fumes. Surely enough for lung damage. Then an 11 seat van arrives including front passenger seat. I am a small woman and the seats were too narrow for me. There were 4 of us across the back in unbelievably tight quarters. No place for our arms or legs. No air circulation. Roasting in the back, no vent, no fan. Breathing air of coughing, sneezing passengers. Miserable trip read more

The drivers very inconsistent in how they treat the passengers. One time a driver (Rose a woman) screaming to two passengers, and treating them like trash. Took your shuttle to LAX. on 8/2/22 Shuttle was very dirty with trash on the floor also. Emergency exit via window was broken and been taped .Average speed of shuttle was 75mph with basically no suspension and a very rough ride. Was told last minute that there was no late shuttle back to Santa Maria in the near future which is what we needed. A friend had taken the shuttle about 2 months ago and told us about the condition of the bus. We thought he was exaggerating but we were wrong. I would say pass on this company. I cannot stand bait and switch tactics. Their brochure states: " No refunds are offered for the second leg of a trip if cancellation of the first leg did not qualify for refunds." Then AFTER you buy and pay they send an email that reads: "Tickets are not transferable!! No refunds are offered for the second leg of the trip if the cancellation of the first leg did not qualify for a refund or if it has been used." So I used the first leg and did not get a refund for the second half even though I called well in advance to cancel because I used the first half EVEN THOUGH THIS IS CLEARLY NOT IN THEIR BROCHURE and that nice little "OR if it is used" part is slipped in AFTER PAYMENT so false advertising/bait &switch. Blanca was quite rude about it. Poor customer service. Why would they not refund a ride I did not use? It is only five bucks difference to book a round trip. They are never full so booking a round trip if you might be able to get an alternative is not worth it. Why are they never full? I can tell you why. The ride is very very bouncy and the vans need new shocks very badly. I wanted to take a picture on a recent ride because the guy across from me was asleep, how i do not know, because his head was bouncing so hard up and down from the bumps he looked like a head banger at a rock concert. I feel pretty banged up after a 4 hour ride to LAX. Just hire Uber. Better deal and more comfort. read more

I am only given this company two stars for one reason they do not take safety as there number one priority. I was the fourth passenger to load and two of the seatbelts were not working. I mention to the driver and another older gently (Indian) that they should look at it both of their responses were "oh don't worry about it." If your concerns are only to freely take the $$$ and your not considering safety as your number one you shouldn't be in business. Before any passengers should load safety belts should on on your top list. The same way you have a list of your passengers loading. read more
