We had a great time playing the Lakes course! There were a ton of wild turkeys all over, which was unique. The greens were in great shape and we even got to enjoy a summer storm.

One of my favorite golf courses on this planet. I grew up playing this course and always have a great experience when I return. They tend to get a little busy, so get out early. It can be pretty jam-packed in the afternoons.

    View from tee box.

This is the most beautiful course I have ever been to. It's unbelievable that it's a public course. It played fair and was in amazing shape. If you are in town go play it, but book in advance. I tried to play a second round and they were booked solid from Thursday-Sunday. Don't play Soldier Hollow. Same rates, terrible course.

Then drive to the pro shop, where the staff was super friendly and professional. Course was well kept all around. Fairways are wide open and the greens were in great shape. Not quite as difficult as it's slope rating states. Plus after the round The Sandwich Trap was great we grabbed a few beers and literally got a burger right from the grill! Thanks to all the staff at Crater Springs.

I was told in the pro shop that the name was changed for marketing purposes. But now to the important stuff. I guess I should start with getting the tee time. I found it hard to get a hold of the clubhouse. The online teetime website wasn't working so I had to call the clubhouse multiple times before someone picked up and I could make my teetime. Then I had to change the reservation from 4 to 3 players and again I had to call multiple times to get a hold of someone. I normally don't call to change the amount of players but they took my credit card number at the time I made the initial reservation and said if we had changed but didn't let them know we would be charged for them. Now to the course. The course was in great shape and is very pretty. We teed off at 4 and had no one pressing us from behind and we were not pressuring anyone. So that was great. The greens rolled well and there were hardly any dead spots on the course. This is where my four star rating comes from. The biggest annoyance of the day was from their Mounted GPS units in the carts. We had a threesome and the second carts GPS didn't work. It just kept turning off. Ours worked great and gave great distances to the pin and how far to carry over sand traps etc. but they were super annoying. Every hole advertisements would pop up and would not go away. They would just stay there until you pressed a button to make them go away. It was aggravating to see the face of an insurance agent in the are every few minutes. Overall since I am rating a golf course I give it four stars because it is very scenic and fun, but everything else I would give a 2.5 rating.

The practice area which was the most appealing part of the golf experience here has been removed to make way for a giant hole. It may be a pool or something in the future but now it is a giant hole and even if it were a pool that will not help me work on my sort game. This would not normally generate a 1 star review its their property if they want to make it less appealing to golfers that's their business. The interactions with the staff were some of the worst I have ever had at any golf course. I would like to call to managements attention to the rude behavior of assistant pro Isaac Brown. I had a old range punch card from Homestead when it was under pervious owner ship when I went to the pro shop to get some ball the woman at the front desk didn't seem to have any idea what was going on so I said that it would make sense to honor it as I had obviously been coming to here to play golf for some time. She gave me the buckets and me and my guest were off to the range. About 1/2 hour later Isaac Brown came down to the range with the intent to hassle me in front of my friend. Saying that my range card was not valid because of the change of ownership. Which is stingy but if the message were delivered at the pro shop would have been fine. But he felt the need to come the the range and have that discussion there. I was mortified. The practice area is gone and the staff is incompetent and rude. There are 4 other golf courses within 7 miles go play one of them instead they are all more fun and in better condition.

Disclaimer: "Advised to NOT stay here until after construction is complete in early 2027*…read more Not one bit of information was available on the website or in any of the emails I received letting us know that the many "resort" amenities were under construction and no longer available. So imagine our surprise when we arrive for a two night stay during spring break at this "resort" and have no idea where to park as everything is under construction. We finally circle a dirt parking lot a few times trying to find a building to check-in but all we find is an empty golf cart saying guest services. I try repeatedly calling the office # on my reservation yet no one answers. We finally come across another family that tells us we can walk all the way around or wait until a golf cart arrives. Well we have several pieces of luggage so we wait. And wait. And wait. Then the golf cart shows up and there is no way we can fit all of our items on, so we had to wait for a second cart. The check-in process was fine except for the rude gal who seemed annoyed by my questions, like how long does the construction go on throughout the day. 6am-10pm by the way. There is a small "restaurant" on site called The Sunroom but is only open Friday & Saturday. The Milk House serves a few premade items that get heated up in a microwave and taste weeks old and during our stay one gal was taking care of the whole place. The room was okay. The pullout bed was awful and the patio would be nice if you enjoy listening to a huge jackhammer and the beeping noises of other construction vehicles from sunup till after sundown. The tv reception was hit & miss and there were no children's channels. There was a sound machine that helped slightly. The itty bitty bottles they left us for the shower did not suffice for 3 humans. Oh and if you need ice, you have to ask the front desk. The only highlight of our stay was the pools. They were enjoyable and each had a different temperature that could make you comfortable whether you like them cooler, warmer or hot. Also, everything is handled via text. They don't answer phones, and even texts take awhile to return. The day before we were to check out I asked specifically for a cart to pick us up at 11:30am, we waited and waited and no one showed up, so I then again texted asking for a pickup. This resort was expensive for just a decent room and a pool. The Best Western would have been nicer. They either need to make future guests more aware of the lack of amenities and discount the pricing for false advertisement. Eventually this is going to be a very nice Marriott resort and by then the price will have doubled for a stay. However, our family was beyond disappointed in the money paid for what should have been a relaxing getaway.

We have stayed in two updated rooms and the double queen standard room was fine- felt like a nice hotel room. No complaints. The bunk bed room with two double beds though-- loved! The private porch was fantastic and the space was perfect for putting our boys to bed. The pools are wonderful- they let you use them until 4 on the day you check out. I wish you could order a drink IN the pool but alas... you can't. They have a limited menu for poolside but you can't get full service at the restaurant. The pools were good for our 5 and 8 year old even without a life jacket. You can't bring toys! It is a beautiful space but there is a TON of construction going on up front- parking is harder and you can't drive up to rooms/buildings right now.

Incredibly efficient and organized, she kept us on track every step of the way and made an otherwise overwhelming process feel totally manageable. Planning a wedding is so much work. We originally didn't plan on hiring a wedding planner, but there is truly no way I could have pulled off even 10% of what we did without her. It was a remote location in southern Utah, and despite the small town and far distance from vendors, she coordinated every detail and ensured we got the best deals including travel and delivery costs, and sourced the very best vendors that were willing to make the trek. Even the location was a hard to find gem that I never could have found on my own. To anyone on the fence about hiring a planner: do it. And if you've decided to hire one, please pick Shellie. She made our entire wedding weekend absolutely perfect and completely stress-free.
