The bartender greeted me with a smile and a menu. Place my order first was the crispy fried fish for my appetizer. And main entrée was hibachi vegetables with salad and soup. I was on Thanksgiving holiday and we were tired of turkey. My relatives had been to this restaurant…read moreseveral times and it was highly recommended. Great choice! The food was delicious! I ordered the Hibachi shrimp from the lunch menu. Delicious. It came with a side of soup or salad. I got both. Yummy. The only suggestion I would give is for improvements to the salad. The salad was nothing but lettuce, dressing and a few croutons. There were no other veggies on the salad. I was disappointed. The main course was very good. Crisp, fresh, well seasoned food. The service was great, too. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Very generous portion sizes. This restaurant has an extensive menu, as well. I loved the decor. It was Japanese without screaming it was Japanese. Very nice and understated. The restaurant was accessible, too. This restaurant was located in a strip mall and easy to access. There was plenty of parking. Highly recommended!

It was a disappointment. If you know nigiri or sashimi sushi then steer clear here. This is what…read morethey served for unagi sashimi. What's worse the manager defended it. The maguro and hamachi appears frozen and precision mechanically sliced. Like bands of a thin belt. It was not fresh but like I said partially thawed. I write these reviews so the people that can make a difference take notice because management will never relay anything that happens in House.

Sushi always come out fresh and correct…read more Friendly servers. I always get the Maki to roll lunch because it's exact amount of food I want to eat for lunch. If it's your first time to go, if you order the little salad, which is basically head lettuce, but very fresh, have the dressing put on the side. Although it's good, they put a lot on it. I'm pretty boring, but my favorite is the avocado roll. Second favorite: tuna and avocado roll. The only thing that is weird is it is kind of warm where you said but not unbearable. It seems as if the AC doesn't work right but I doubt that's so. I recommend Shogun. To be honest, I have not used the hibachi there in a long time so I cannot comment on that.

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and felt like a treat for the senses. The lighting and…read moredecor are stunning and are done so very well. The edamame was fabulously salty and tender and made a delightful start to the meal. The unagi roll was out of this world and was such a treat. I ended my meal with 4 pieces of smoked salmon sashimi which was rather disappointing. Smoked salmon is my absolute favorite as it is usually moist and cut right from a piece of fish. This salmon was dryish and thin sliced and quite salty-I've never experienced that before. Avoid that one but indulge in everything else!

It was a late night driving from the other end of Missouri to stopping at Poplar Bluff, but thank…read moreGod there was something open (and 6-months-new) for me to hit the spot. I was attended by an excellent server--very helpful, humble and happy to help. Building indeed still seemed brand-new, though maybe a tad heavy-handed on the 'hibachi futurism,' if you catch my drift, but overall clean & pleasant. Maybe a little bit too-sterilized-feeling. But good. Food-wise, I indeed tried the Sushi & Sashimi Dinner, which comes with 15-piece sashimi, 4-piece nigiri, and apparently a salmon avocado that was never included, since maybe there was a confusion about me ordering a Salmon Avocado Hand Roll with it, which I was still charged for. Didn't hit me until I was out the restaurant, lol. Fish-quality could be said to leave much to be desired still, but for a small town, as aforementioned--it might indeed be enough to, 'hit the spot.' I'm not sure if this one's a #recommend or not, but be sure to give it a chance if you're around. Cheers.
