(The previous owners left all supporting documentation for his review)! The minute I opened the door I sensed resistance. I invited him in and explained my issue. Initially, it was difficult to see the damage because of low lighting. I explained my dilemma and said, "wait, I have a picture of the problem." Once I showed him the picture he immediately put his hand up yelling and said, "Lady there's nothing wrong, you're crazy." Blaming the damage on the reflection of my ceiling fan. I was enraged and began yelling as he quickly excited my home. Now, if it isn't the roof that's fine, he was called into MY home to make an assessment, but the disrespect and attitude were unacceptable! Was it the tone of my skin, the fact I'm a woman and no male was present, the fact he's a business owner/contractor and believes he has no accountability for his work or behavior? Well, we will never know! I can assure you there was nothing, absolutely nothing, in my encounter with him that warranted his nasty unprofessional attitude! To close the circle, I have a friend who is a contractor come in and look at the roof, thankfully, it's just shabby work! Have a fiberglass roof that needed to be re-coated, reached out to multiple people on yelp, settled on Doyle roofing. Person responded quickly on yelp, came for a quick estimate and then scheduled a day to come, and did the roof. once we paid and later checked the roof are two days off dying and saw parts weren't completely covered, roof has remained sticky/tacky months later and holes are already starting to show. Was told we have a three year warranty but have not been able to get anyone to come back to actually fix the roof. Have been promised multiple times someone will come, but no one ever does.

Lucas answered while on an existing job. He was very honest saying he can't drop by to make an assessment. Knowing the importance of the situation, he said he'll have his father drop by to take a look. The father (was it Joe?) came by as promised and saw that the previous roofer didn't put flashing around a portion of the chimney. He gave a couple of possible fixes and I picked the more expensive one. He gave me a break on price if i went with the more expensive fix which i appreciated. Before showing up for the work due to budgeting issues i changed to the lower price solution. He didn't have any problems with this change. He and his other son (not Lucas) came on the day as promised. The funny thing was I didn't know they were there until i heard banging outside! They ripped some of the old roof tiles, installed new flashing and overlay them with some leftover tiles I had laying around. They also caulked around other parts of the chimney. They cleaned up their mess. There were aome storms afterwards and no leak! Thx to Lucas for knowing the importance of the problem and having your father and brother fit me into their schedule. And thx to father and son (was it Joe and Ezekiel?!) for fixing the leak! I would definitely consider them to put in a new roof when the time comes!

My biggest concern was that this is a summer home so we were not around a lot to supervise. I was pleasantly surprised that they showed up when they said they would, and kept to their timetable as closely as possible. I called a very popular roofer in the area for an estimate and had the worst experience. He left his car running, looked at the roof from the ground, and said "you need a whole new roof", and left. My home inspector said absolutely not, call someone else. Another estimate came from a company that didn't even come to the house. I told them what my inspector thought was the issue and he quoted me a price solely based on that. Feeling super defeated, I ended up calling Ryan at Elegant Exteriors for a 3rd and final consult. I definitely saved the best for last because Ryan was phenomenal. He was up on the roof before I knew it taking pictures and surveying everything. Ryan suggested a solution for a flatter section of our roof that no other contractor had. We were having problems with water in this area and Ryan's solution will surely solve our problems. Ryan worked with us on pricing. He had a superior warranty to the competitor, who says "I bet we did your neighbor's roof". Ryan made it impossible to hire anyone else. Matthew, the project manager, kept me informed of scheduling and what to expect at every step.
