This is my favorite paint and hardware store. They've been around forever and you can't beat the personalized service you receive, along with the knowledgeable staff that will answer any questions or concerns you might have. This place is definitely a mom and pop style business. It's different from Lowe's and Home Depot. It's not a big place but they do have many things for anyone looking to repair, replace, buy new or fix up....I saw many workers coming and going while I was there. Workmen also placed paint orders over the phone and they had it ready for them when they arrived. I came in for trim paint and puddy to patch some door holes and give it a fresh updating. Erica in the paint department was extremely helpful along with Joanne. Because I wasn't exactly sure of the trim color I should use, Erica gave me some paint samples along with a color wheel I could borrow and take home so I could choose the right color for my trim. That would never happen at Lowe 's or Home Depot.. color wheels are expensive. Warrenvillle Hardware only uses good paint like Benjamin Moore. They have a nice selection of wallpaper and blinds too. I can see why this business is so popular with the locals. It's been around since I was a kid, before all the farms were turned into mega homes and businesses. There is something about walking in here and immediately getting the help and attention I needed. I have been here many times over the years, , sometimes for little things like appliance light bulbs and sometimes for advise. Every time I'm here I have been extremely satisfied... read more

I've been living in Warren since the 1980s. This place has always been a rip-off. Only go to this dump if I don't have time to drive to the nearest Home Depot. In some cases you are looking at 40-50% higher prices for even the most basic items. read more

Thank goodness for local hardware stores. I usually have my keys made here but recently tried Home Depot because Warrenville Hardware wasn't open. Of course, the keys didn't work so I had to return them and have Warrenville Hardware make them. The ones they made work perfectly. read more

Guy at the paint counter had a major attitude! Not sure what his deal is. Really nasty. Not sure if they look down on minorities or not but, BEWARE! read more

Warrenville Paint and Hardware - Hardware Stores Near Me - Warren, New Jersey

Okay, I rarely go here. I find myself usually going to the big box store to get even the simple things because somewhere back in my mind I am thinking, "Warrenville is not going to have that." Yet, every time I do go here I seem to not only find what I am looking for but someone is there to help as well. You would think I would learn from this experience but it still is taking time so forgive me for being slow. I think someone mentioned on Foursquare about all of the hanging/mounting stuff they have and, yes, if you need to get something to hang, stick, or cling to something else this place does indeed have a lot of options! read more

I didn't know whether to give them 3 or 4 stars. I was leaning towards 3 because its a small store and they close early, but the customer service is always outstanding, so I decided to go with 4. Its located on the west bound side of Mountain Boulevard in Warren, just before you hit the big intersection with Mt Bethel. They are perhaps 1/15 the size of Home Depot, but they are local, go out of their way to help you, and the prices are not that much higher than Home Depot. Its good to support a local business. read more

This was one of the places I hit up when I was looking around for some blinds for my windows a few years back. It reminded me of an ACE hardware store, except it was more homey. The people are super nice like they were a long time friend or something. Anyways, I didnt buy my blinds there, but I did make some friends, and I know where I would go if im around the area and needs hardware materials for any projects around the house. read more

AWFUL The three women who " work" behind the counter are the rudest most unhelpful employees of a business I have ever encountered. Walked directly up to one of them and said " hello, excuse me" she didn't even look at me, but Walked away to help the other who couldn't figure out how to work the register. Not so much as a " I'll be right with you,"or even an acknowledgement of my presence. I continued to stand there for another four or five minutes being completely ignored before I walked out and took my business to Home Depot where the employees are not only helpful but know how to interact with the public. Will NEVER return. read more

I love this place! They have a large selection of good quality items and I have always found the service to be great. Based on the length of time personally devoted to me by the owner today, it is clear customer service and their reputation are important to them. Why save a few bucks to travel to a big box store and wander the aisles looking for help? read more

I have lived in Warren for more than 20 years and continue to appreciate the amazing service provided by the local stores, especially Warrenville Hardware. The help and expertise provided no matter what kind of project or product is always professional and accurate. They provide all their services with with patience and step by step guidance. They will special order almost anything for you and stand behind everything they sell. They carry almost everything and remind me of the benefits of a small town store. read more

Stopped in here today for the first time looking for some gardening supplies. Everything here costs about double what you'd pay at Home Depot or Lowe's. As for the customer service, despite half a dozen employees standing around on a Friday afternoon with hardly any other customers in the store, most of them don't offer any help or know where anything is when you ask. Not acceptable for a local hardware store charging premium prices. read more

Positives: time saver in town, stocked well. Negatives: High prices, surprisingly rude cashiers-really snobby and cold for no obvious reason. It has been like this for years- the rudeness- maybe they have to throw out that one lady that has been there forever who's attitude passes on to the others. read more

We shopped there for everything for a while, but when they sold me what I was told were gas cans during Sandy (turns out they were made only for a small amount of gas for leaf blowers or something of the sort; not sure of the specifics but I couldn't use them for gas), they would not take them back and the associate we dealt with was quite rude. We are no longer regular customers. read more

When I had an opportunity to do a little more remodeling at my mother's house, I went straight to Warrenville Hardware. Based on the great results I got with the contractors referred by Bill and the excellent design guidance from Patti the last time around, I felt very confident that this time would be great as well. It was. Got a great contractor who completely rebuilt mom's porch and installed some badly needed doors at a good price. And of course I went to Patti for design advice. She picked some great colors and blinds that really made everything look better than I could have expected. Mom is pretty happy too, says it doesn't look like her house at all. Having the right people with the right talents produces great results and I have found that at Warrenville Hardware. They have a completely new paint department and a designer that knows how to make it all come together. They have a very friendly, knowledgeable, staff who are always offering to help. When I move back to the area, I know where I'm going for design needs, until then mom's house gets all the benefits. Thanks Bill, Thanks Patti, Thanks Warrenville staff! read more

Place is horrible......7 times the cost and staff is so unfriendly. Parts are located all over the place and its small......go to hd your so much better off. read more

Warrenville Hardware is everything a hardware store should be. Sure they are a little more expensive than one of the major box hardware stores, but you don't feel like you are shopping in an airplane hanger when you go in. They have a courteous and helpful staff and there is nothing that you need that you can't find. read more

The absolute best hardware store around. I have another hardware store in my town, 2 miles away/5 minute drive. But I would rather go 10+ miles/25 minutes to Warrenville Hardware every time. They have a great selection of the usual hardware stuff, and their Benjamin Moore prices are comparable to everyone else I tried. But what really sets them apart is their service and helpfulness. The latest example is my most recent visit. I was looking to replace a washer on my outdoor faucet. I brought in the whole assembly just in case. I showed the guy the washer I needed and he pointed out that the screw holding it was broken off. I would not have noticed this till I drove home and tried to put everything back together. Anyway, he spent about 5-10 minutes in the back of the shop with a drill, vise grips, etc. removing the broken, rusted screw. Any other hardware store you know would do this for a customer without asking? This little touch of customer service made my repair experience a whole lot easier. Great service, decent prices, a great place for your paint and hardware needs. read more

Great customer service, but always missing something or short of a specific item, very pricey too compared to the competition.

I've been using them for 30 years. They are a fantastic hardware. They have what you need when you need it. Everyone is extremely helpful.

Always the best service from the staff at Warrenville this is the only place to go for paint!

I love having a hardware store close by, much more of a personal shopping experience opposed to a warehouse experience where you spend so much time seeking out an employee to help. The staff at Warrenville Hardware are always so willing to help. We painted our entire home inside and purchased paint through their paint department. Wonderful experience. read more

The best hardware store in the area by far. On top of having everything, they have great customer service and offer amazing paint consultations (my bedroom looks amazing thanks to Patty). Rare to find this kind of local gem nowadays. read more

The sales help walking around the store are very helpful and polite. The women who check out the customers in the front are the rudest, most impolite cashiers I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They act as if they are doing you a favor and basically throw your change at you. Disgusting! read more

When I decided to redecorate some rooms in my home I knew immediately where to go. Patty, the design consultant at Warrenville Hardware is awesome. She helped me pick paint colors as well as cabinetry and tile for my upcoming kitchen renovation. She listens to her customers and comes up with a plan that is beyond anything they could have imagined! In addition, I've always found only the best customer service at Warrenville. Bill and his staff are extremely knowledgeable, courteous and more than happy to help me find anything I need. I wouldn't shop anywhere else! read more

Warrenville Hardware is an amazing local store in town that my husband and I shop at frequently. The owner, Bill and his staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable with anything we need. Everyone has always been very friendly and welcoming. One of the many reasons why we are always in this store is because of their color consultant/designer. Patty is outstanding!! I highly recommend her! Our home is everything we could have wanted and more because of her expertise. She has a remarkable eye and we trust her with any suggestion she offers. She truly loves what she does and takes pride in her work. She will make your vision become a reality and I promise you will be more than happy! read more

They are RUDE. I came in looking for paint colors and asked if someone could assist with picking paint colors. They told me that they could not help me or work with me due to the fact that I would not be purchasing paint at their store. when I complained to the manager, the manager stated why would anyone help you if you're not purchasing paint here. I guess I ruined their gossip time. They are extremely rude and I would never come back here again. read more

When my home needed updating I knew exactly where to go. Patty had already helped me pick out colors for a kitchen renovation several years ago, and I am still getting complimented on them. I put projects for my entire downstairs and 2 bedrooms in her hands and LOVE the results. She picked awesome updated colors, helped me pick out blinds, and made great suggestion for carpeting. Her expertise and Warrenville's friendly and knowledgeable staff made decorating fun - like it should be. I highly recommend them! read more

The staff's professionalism and knowledge keep me coming back even though I live in Hoboken. I have been a loyal customer for 10 years and cannot see that changing. They have everything we need and cannot be more helpful. Their prices are very competitive. I would definitely recommend. read more

I never have everything I need before starting a project and Warrenville always comes through for me to help see things through to successful completion. The staff is welcoming and eager to help out unlike some of the, ahem, big box stores and I end up being able to find the most random fittings and parts here. read more

It is so much nicer to shop in a real hardware store than one of the warehouse ones. The people in Warrenville Hardware are always friendly and ready to help . I always find what I need and quickly because I don't have to walk around searching for someone to help me. I have found it much more enjoyable shopping there than other places, the store is organized and neat and as I said the staff is always very helpful. read more

This is a great local hardware store. The employees are polite, helpful and know what they're doing. I needed some Benjamin Moore paint to match a set of cabinets and John in the paint department adjusted two formulas to match it exactly. I tried to have this done twice before and no one could do it properly. The color was too dark or too light. John put the time and effort in to make sure it was perfect and never made me feel as if he was doing me a favor. They do not "talk down" or speak to women like they don't know what they're doing. (They will carry things to your car for you, however, which I think is very nice). I think this hardware store is a gem and we are lucky as a community to have it in our backyard. They really appreciate your business. Some things may be a bit more expensive than Home Depot, but when you figure the gas, time and most importantly, the lack of assistance and experience, I'd rather shop here any day. Brick and mortar stores are becoming a rarity these days. This is our opportunity as a community to support these businesses and Warrenville Paint and Hardware makes that easy to do! read more

NEVER GO HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF. I recently purchased a Baldwin cylinder (deadbolt) from here for approx $115. The man went in the back and after about 20 minutes of me waiting brought out a box with the cylinder in it that was a diff color. The box looked a little beat up but he said that I could try it and see if it looked ok and if not could return it (no one seems to carry baldwin stuff so I was desperate after having looked for this for 3 months now). I went home and checked and the cylinder color looked really stupid against my door (which has bronze hardware). I went back to the store two weeks later (30 days to return) and when I gave the cylinder and box and receipt to the woman she looked really confused. She said we had this in the store? usually this is special order. I said yes, the man got it out of the back and sold it to me. I said it was an older man with gray hair. She said I"ll go ask him and took my stuff in the back. THIRTY MINUTES later he comes out of the back with an attitude and says "I can't take this back. It's missing parts". I said what? That's the way you sold it to me! After arguing with him for 30 minutes I finally gave up and left feeling berated and madder than I have ever felt in my life. While this was going on he basically accused me of taking the stuff apart and losing parts (which I did not, nor would I even know how to do). Meanwhile, for whatever reason, every employee in the store was standing behind the counter just watching and listening. It was so embarassing and I have never been treated so badly by anyone in my life. The man was really agressive with me and I feel that it is because I am a young woman. After all that they refused to give me my money back, even though I was told when I purchased it that I could return it within 30 days if there were any problems and even though THEY SOLD IT TO ME THE WAY IT WAS WHEN I WENT TO RETURN IT! I will NEVER shop here again. This was my first experience with this place and my LAST. I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW TO NEVER SHOP AT THIS STORE. THEY OBVIOUSLY DO NOT BELIEVE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE OR EVEN IN BEING DECENT HUMAN BEINGS. I will be filing a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back. Not worth it to try to deal with these scumbags. read more
