I've tried everything else and there really is a noticeable difference in the appearance and coverage, even compared to the best Valspar paint Lowes has to offer. We waited patiently for our turn (20 minutes). At the same time the couple was finishing up, a man carrying paint charts came in and went to the counter. The owners son, Joe jr. ( only one in store working at the time), started helping that person who just walked in instead of us, also customers, who were waiting. He mentioned he would only be a few minutes, but obviously it seemed it would be longer and that this customer may have been a friend or contractor. Joe jr. mentioned he would be with us soon, and I asked, "we were here before that person", and he ignored me and proceeded to help the other guy. Been going there for years, Joe Sr., always very professional. Maybe a sign should be placed somewhere in the store that states "ALL CUSTOMERS THAT NEED ASSISTANCE WITH PAINT, WILL BE WAITED ON AFTER OUR COUNTER AND REGULAR CUSTOMERS ARE TAKEN CARE OF" out of respect for the people waiting. Living in Hunterdon County for years, we just purchased one of the largest estates (homes) in the area with a stable and a six car detached garage. We are painting the entire home, inside and out, six car garage and stables. Unfortunate loss for "COLORZ IN CLINTON" in which, I am sure, a multi-thousand paint order$$$ would have been made. Sorry Joe Sr. Junior needs a course on proper CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I own a paint contracting business, and have nearly 40 years of experience in this field in NJ. During all those years, I've dealt with countless people in dozens of paint stores. I can say unequivocally that Hunterdon Paint is, by far, the best of the best! From stock availability to customer service, from store ambiance to product knowledge, they are unsurpassed. In fact, I routinely bypass other stores with the same product, sometimes cheaper, to shop here! Why? It's always better to do it once than to do it over! Now, regarding color, that is the hardest part of the project! I have a color consultant on staff, and she makes a world of difference to customers. The same is true of Helen, whom Hunterdon uses for color consulting. Talented, fun, and well worth the cost to get it right. Yes, Duncan is very good, knowledgeable and personable, but so are Bill and Jack, all highly professional and dedicated to helping the customer to not only get the right colors, but to get the whole project right. Their level of understanding and commitment to the customer is unparalleled in my experience, Period! I hope Rose returns and allows them to help with her project. When I went back to the store because I still was unsure of what to do and Duncan was not there, no one else really wanted to suggest anything. They seemed nice but obviously don't know their colors. They just offered me the in home consultation which would cost me $150. I understand thats standard but what if I don't like what she suggests and now I'm down more money. I wish Duncan was there when I went back, but now I'm hesitant to go back again. It's obvious all these men were looking at me and were trying to push the salesman I was talking to, to push the consultation on me. I felt that and left the store very upset!!!

Staff is very knowledgeable. I didn't use all the paint I bought and got a prompt refund for the remaining paint - how nice is that!
