i purchased a bad roll of PaintersMate tape (bad adhesive and would not pull out in full strips) so i asked to have it replaced. I shop at this store all the time -for years - but because i did't have a receipt and they counter girl couldn't see my purchase in the last 30 days, they refused to replace a faulty product, stating it was store policy. nice policy --- save the store $7.59 and lose a big customer forever. they could care less about customers. do NOT shop at this store! read more

I swung by PAH to have copies of a key made while I was in the area. I had the keys made with two non-traditional styles, but still acceptable for the key shape. Upon returning home, I realized that the keys did not work. I called the store and they told me to come back and have the keys made again. I returned the next day and had two more copies made, but with the same results. That makes for a total of four failed keys. I got keys made up at another Ace Hardware and they worked. Not really sure what the issue is with PAH, but I can't recommend coming here for that service. read more

This place is amazing - within the first five minutes of walking into this store, I was approached by three different associates offering assistance (you'd be lucky if the people at competing big box stores even acknowledge your existence). I needed a very specific Benjamin Moore paint, which they had in stock and I was able to find easily. Everyone that worked there was friendly and knowledgeable. As much as the employees were helpful and friendly and willing to help they strait up LIED about there product. We ordered a shed and made it VERY clear that we DO NOT know how to assemble a shed. They said over and over that the Sed would be "Easy to assemble" It Was not. It came in too many parts, was too confusing and it had NO Bottum. NONE of them Snapped together as suggested. They ALL needed advanced knowledge of tools and tool terminology. And my Mother has too much female pride to ask for help. She'll play dumb but there ARE people would could call to help us and we won't POINT is, the people of ACE Hardware should have sold a product that only had SIX parts. and they should have offered to help assemble. read more

I needed some keys made for my mailbox, and Home Depot didn't have the blank, so they suggested Ace. I walk in, find the key machine and there's 4 employees standing nearby chatting together about something. I ask who can make keys, and hold up the key I need made, and multiple people guys in unison say the key part number. Very impressive! read more

This Ace is always on point. Purchased a Weber grill there 2 years ago and it was excellent service. Today I went in to get parts for a gas line for a dryer that was being a pain. Steve was spot on and a "steely eye rocket man" helping find the right fittings. Made my day much easier, I strongly suggest using this store. They know their customers & products and the store is always staffed appropriately; you never have to wander around looking for help if you need it. Great selection of products, competitive pricing when you take convenience into account. One of the larger Ace Hardware locations, it's been around since I can remember. At least thirty years. It is always busy. Good location on Route 22 East - near Highway 287. Sales help are knowledgeable, friendly. Front-end clerks keep the lines moving. Plenty of parking. Plus they carry some brand names which are not available in the Big Box stores. read more

This store Post Hardware has every hardware-related thing one needs and more, staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and as an added bonus as of 2017 recently got renovated on the outside so looks the part now too. If I could give no stars, I would!!!! Rudest experience in my life! Yesterday, April 22nd I saw the TV commercial for the ACE Hardware - buy one get one free sale. I called the Rt. 22, Somerville, NJ, Post Ace Hardware store and spoke to a women who confirmed that the Roundup 365 in the gray and black container was included in this sale and the sale ended on Monday, April 23rd. She shared that one is the pump and the second free one was a refill container. This was fine by me! I made time in my busy work schedule to drive all the way to this store today, not close to where I work and once I get there, I place the pump container in my cart but did not see the refill bottle. An employee (so I thought) was in this area and asked for help. He shared that the Roundup 365 is not a part of the sale. I explained to him that I called this store yesterday, spoke to a women employee and specifically asked if this type of Roundup was a part of the sale and the store employee told me yes and that I drove pretty far to come here. He did not seem to care and said he said rudely that he would not honor it what his employee said. He rudely took containers out of my cart and paced it back on the shelf. As I was walking out, I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager, so I knew this was a lost cause. Since he was so rude, I called Ace Hardware 866 customer service line and shared what happen. I explained my issue and they said they would call the store and speak to the manager. When the customer service women came back from hold, she explained that he was just as rude to her and found out he was the owner of the store. EVEN WORSE!! She said she would open and incident report and refer this to an ACE Hardware district manager.
