Pebbles (blue heeler, 1.5 years old) would never listen to me, would not sit or lay still, and had a lot of other obedience issues that caused her to be stressed or confused. She was a TOUGH dog to train and I was concerned I couldn't find the solution for her to get basic concepts. This view has completely changed since working with RSK9's 3 week program. I would HIGHLY recommend them and their methods - you can tell they genuinely love working with dogs and it's made a huge difference in giving my dog the chance to find real rest at home. They send DAILY updates with photos and videos which was so nice. This isn't a regular class or something you just pay for; it's truly an investment that you and your dog will be using for the time you get to share together. Side note: it's worth doing 3 weeks versus 2 weeks. At the 2 week mark is when Pebbles really started to understand her marks and cues. From here there is so much more that can be refined and Brandi/Perry really capitalize on that threshold being crossed!

I saw Petco in the distance and made my way here. I already knew I was going to get her a cat tree and was prepared to do some heavy lifting and take as much time as needed to put the thing together. I wandered for a bit in here, actually got distracted by the dogs here for obedience training and went the long way to get to the area that held the cat trees. I was literally right next to them but did a loop around the store before realizing it. I took some time to look over the types they had and was grateful that they had some built and on display so you could get an idea of the size. The sizes are listed on the boxes, but sometimes a visual cue is more helpful. Decided on the one I wanted to snag and went to grab a cart to load it up. Once loaded I headed to the registers. Here is where it got a bit muddled. I was in line and this lady just decided she would jump in front of me because she thought since she was going over the dog treats and it was there it was obvious she was in line. No lady, if you are browsing, you are not in line to pay. Whatever, check out and keep it moving. Once to the register the guy asked me for my phone number to look up my rewards number. I told him it and he said it wasn't in the system. Odd, because I have been shopping at Petcos for nearly two decades. Luckily I had the card stored on my phone and that brought me up. He told me the number that was used when I registered way back when and, lord, that was an old number. He went in and changed it really quickly so the next time I wouldn't run into that. Once I got home, I had to put the cat tree together. Once together, my now adult cat (if we look at it in human years) had her own apartment inside my apartment. Why not? She's grown now and she deserved her own place. She is loving here new, high up perches and naps quite a lot.

Since he's worked with her over the five-week training period, he's made a complete 180. Now we're able to walk around the city and not have him bark at every dog we see on the street. I want to point out that because my dog is innately anxious, it affects his physical state too with eating and other issues. Kelia shared that she used to be a vet tech and made me feel the most comfortable and confident with helping me set up a plan for when he might have an episode due to the transition and what all would take place to ensure he would be okay, loved, and healthy. Long story short, she cared for him for the days he was struggling, kept me updated, and he came out of it because she was purposeful, knowledgeable, and more than capable to handle the situation. I can't recommend Kelia enough for anyone seeking support and/or confidence in how they can better work with, love, and respect their dog. Bonus, she's genuinely such a joy of a human being!

We recently adopted a two year…read moreold German Shepherd who was well behaved in the house but a true terror to walk on leash (pulling and severe reactivity towards other dogs). Controlled K9 came to our home to evaluate her and recommended a four week board and train to work on basic obedience, leash manners, and off leash recall. We loved that she was taken in as a member of the family during her "boarding school," and they provided regular photos and updates on her progress throughout. She returned to us her same happy, sweet self in the house, but basically a new dog on leash! The Controlled K9 team trained us on how to continue her training, and remained super responsive to our follow up questions. It's incredible to see the transformation and we're so grateful to the Controlled K9 team for changing our lives - and Zoey's - for the better!

I have visited this clinic a few times now after adding a Pug puppy to my life. I did some research before I had to visit the vet with my puppy. I am a local Front Royal resident and WCVC looked like a very good option. I could not be more pleased with the care we have received each time we have been there. The clinic is very well kept and clean and the staff is excellent, always a pleasure to visit. Their fee structure is very competitive and reasonable. Special recognition to Dr. Vandrey, He has been super attentive and excellent in handling my puppy and always takes the time to answer any and all concerns I may have. I am very happy to have this facility close by, give it a try, you wont regret doing so. read more

I wish I could leave a 10-star rating for this clinic in general and Dr. Brown in particular. WCVC took care of my dog through the last 4 of the nearly 17 years she was with me. I recently took her to WCVC for her last visit. They have a room on the side of their facility with its own door. Very private. Dr. Brown and her assistant were gentle, obviously caring, and very supportive to me. The note Dr. Brown mailed me afterwards.... well, I can't find sufficient words of gratitude. Doc, my wife and I will definitely be planting the seeds, and we hope to email you photos of the flowers in the Spring. To anyone reading this, you want WCVC for your pet. read more

I have been taking my dog here for the last few years, they have always been great with my dog and have helped me with him tremendously. I have had two visits where I had no appointment and they were booked and was still able to get me in! Just got my dog back from the last visit, he had problems walking took him in and they found a very large tumor. They were able to get him into surgery next day. I was very impressed how fast they were able to help. And absolutely loved the way they treated my dog. I would highly recommend them for all your pets needs. This was my first time at this clinic. I went to have a kitten I rescued, neutered. I was treated very well & given the impression that my kitten would be well-cared for. All the staff greeted me with big smiles as though they were SO happy to see me! Following the surgery, a staff member called to say that my kitten had made it through the surgery fine. I'm grateful, because even though I'm a believer and had faith, I was still a worried mom! Much to my surprise, another staff member called me the day AFTER his surgery to check on him! How courteous! Made me feel like they really care! read more

This is the best veterinary office in the area! My two dogs and cat go here and have had nothing but positive experiences. I like that they don't pressure you into potentially unnecessary treatments/procedures but they give you enough information for you to make the decision on your own. My vet always takes time to answer my questions and the staff are super friendly. Not to mention that they always have kittens for adoption that they save from the river and other places around Front Royal! read more

When my cat got very sick, very quickly 2 weeks ago, WCVC got me in immediately. Dr. Emily looked at him and within 5 seconds knew exactly what was wrong. She kept me updated constantly by text for 2 days while he was in the Kitty hospital, and was available for questions when he came home. She saved his life, and I'm so grateful for her knowledge and fast action. His brother is grateful too. read more

Called later that day, the girl put me on hold to find the voicemail and came back talking to me about a Rx refill - not what I called about! Then I physically took my dog in after rearranging my schedule, they couldn't get a urine sample or any labs from my 7 pound dog - sent me home - no help. They DID send me home with a cup to get a urine sample. I got the urine sample late at night & refrigerated it. I was never given any guidelines on how to get the sample or what is "fresh." Rearrange meetings again to take the urine sample to them, and receptionist looks at my with disgust and tells me it's "too old." Told me I need to get a fresher one - but again, not told what is "fresh." Are we asking within the hour?! Told both days that they suspect dog has a UTI, but refuse to give anything until they get the urine sample - while at the same time being too incompetent to return voicemails or get a urine sample themselves. Unfortunately it seems this is the only option on this side of town, but I hope this message gets to someone in charge who controls the business and it's employee attitudes. Not how anyone wants to be treated when spending $750+ for their pet.

I adopted a new dog recently who is having nose bleeds, and I warned them she came from a rough situation and has snapped at a few of my friends. It turns out she doesn't have an aggression issue at all, she has a spinal injury and her snapping is a pain response. She walks fine and jumps up on the couch fine so it was easy to overlook but Dr Fegal caught it quickly. She is a wonderful vet and didn't try to push anything extra when I said I was on a bit of a budget today and just wanted to focus on the current issues. I've used other vets temporarily in the past and can say AMC has very competitive prices in comparison. Some of my quotes at AMC have been half of what other offices would've charged. Pets aren't cheap, but you get your money's worth and quality care here!

So after they told me they wouldn't come, they had the nerve to say, "hope your alpaca gets the care he needs"!! PEOPLE - FIND ANOTHER VET!!!!!!!!!!! THEY WILL LET YOU DOWN IN YOUR MOST DESPERATE MOMENT.

There is a deep devotion (and unending supply of treats) that I hold for that boy (well, at 12, man). So, to entrust his care to others while out of town is the stuff of horror movies and restless nights. But then there's Pawisitivity Heaven. I set Oscar up to stay there a few weeks before traveling, based on the recommendation of a family member. I also liked the idea of daycare instead of simply boarding so that furry interaction and activity would occur. And then I arrived. Whether or not you would call this place "heaven" depends on how much you love dogs. For me, it was enrapturing the moment I opened the door. There are two play areas; one for larger dogs and one for smaller ones. And they were having the time of their lives! Barking, tossing toys, running around and peaking over the wall to check me out (well, the bigger breeds at least). Like people, you can tell when dogs are enjoying themselves. You can also tell when the individuals who care for them are genuine. This team is caring, thorough, and patient (more so with us humans and all of our questions). When they kneel down to rub a furry butt or bring one out to their human, the reaction says it all. Though I only saw the interaction a few times, each time I did there was trust present. And let me tell you, when I picked up Oscar he was grinning ear-to-ear. I immediately noticed that though he was happy to see me, his usual habit of rushing for the door after being boarded was absent. He didn't want to leave. And that is why my gratitude to Pawsitively Heaven carries a weight the words "thank you" cannot contain. Thank you for your love and care for dogs. Thank you for operating a business that does what is best for them, not the human. And thank you for the constant joy you bring each and every furry soul that enters your front door. For dogs, you truly are heaven. For their humans, you are a divine gift right here on earth.
