Not careful. Brought car to check. Caused a number of scratch on the body and damaged some parts. Will not go again.

    A-1 German Car Service

    A-1 German Car Service

I am not even sure how many decades it's been since I had any car I drove daily, serviced in few…read morehours when parts were required. Heard squeaky, pulley noise under the hood and made appointment later in the week to drop it off with A-1. En route to work on 287 the pilot went bad, serpsntibe belt came off and I was like a pilot without power looking for big grass field to safely land in. I veered off of 287 at centennial ave, turned heat on and popped hood release for added ventilation and as my temp gauge showed relief I hobbled into parking spot at A-1. Assuming I'd continue one via Uber, Pete Ld his family cheerfully encouraged me to wait, citing the longest element of the wait is getting the parts delivered. 2.5 hours of wi-fi, comfy chair and good company - later, I'm on my way home as perfect as Mercedes Benz engineers would hope for. My 2003 CLK 320 Cabriolet will never see the inside of the local dealer again after 15 $$$$$$ years of service there!!! A-1 is the real deal. Rock solid. Not cheap, nor "inexpensive". Knowledgeable and accommodating!! I held 1 Star back in initial review because I wanted to see how the car drove. It rides great. That said, the quality and service along with genuinely nice hospitality while there deserves a 6 star rating.

Not only did they fix the main issue with my car, they informed me of a separate problem with my wheel which I wasn't initially aware of. Repair cost half what the dealership quoted me. Three Strikes -- I'm Done With This Location…read more I've gone to the Valvoline in Bound Brook, NJ regularly because it's close to home. Even though my dealership in Wayne, NJ offers free oil changes, it's too far to be practical for regular service, so I've relied on this Valvoline for the convenience. The team is friendly, and the service is quick, which I appreciate. But as far as I can tell from tracking my visits, after the same issues happening three times in a row, I can't trust that I'm getting the full service I'm paying for -- and I won't be going back. The first thing I noticed was that my oil changes felt too frequent. When I checked my credit card statements, I saw I was getting oil changes way more often than I should. My car takes full synthetic oil, which should last about 7,500 miles, but each time, they set the return sticker at just 2,500 miles -- that's 5,000 miles early. When I asked about it, the attendant said it's their way of helping customers "avoid going over." But without telling me they were doing that, it just caused me to get unnecessary oil changes and spend more money. Then there's the tire pressure check, which is supposed to be included. On each of my last three visits, I went in with the tire pressure light on, and was told it would turn off after driving. It didn't. When I checked the tires myself, some were as much as 20 psi under. Clearly, they weren't checked or filled -- even though I was told they were. I don't mind putting air in my own tires, but I do mind being told something was done when it wasn't. And I really don't appreciate being guided into oil changes thousands of miles earlier than my vehicle requires. This location has been convenient, and the staff is polite and fast -- but trust matters more. After three bad experiences in a row, I've decided I'm done with this location
