When we arrived Tony and his staff could not have gone out of there way to be more welcoming and understanding. As a kid I lived in the south western suburbs of Adelaide and as a result would go past The Warradale pub at least two or three times a week. Several decades down the track I finally decided to go in and was pleasantly surprised. This pub - and yes its still a pub - has just undergone extensive renovations so it's a now a million miles away from that daggy old pub my bus used to go past on the way to Marion Shopping Centre. Great meal. Their roast of the day was sensational! It was roast pork with gravy and instead of mushy pub veg that you sometimes get, I had bok choy, green beans, roast potato and roast carrot. My friend had their Wagyu Beef Burger but wasn't so engrossed with his meal. This time I think he had food envy. FYI, the meals were $17 and $16 respectively. We also scored two pints of pale ale for $10 as we were in the midst of happy hour. We ate in the Verandah Bar which I gather is the equivalent of the old style Saloon Bar. And we also walked through the Tavern Bar which had to be the equivalent of an old Front Bar - lots of blokes having a bet and a beer. Even though their food has moved with the times, this is still a bit of a working man's pub and I in no way mean that in a derogatory sense. I think that's a good thing - a working man needs a good pub to visit at the end of a hard week's work - as does a working woman! read more

The pub seems to just get better and better as time goes on. Since I was last here, having a drink after visiting my friend who lived just down the road, they had added a much larger beer garden and had turned it into a bar in and of itself, and I must say that the beer garden was certainly one of the best that I seen (and I have seen some pretty impressive beer gardens). They also have a huge range of ciders on tap (which really impressed my friend as that is his beer of choice). Sure, they have pokies and a sports bar, but they are both separated from the restaurant and the beer garden, so you can have a meal, or simply spend the night in what is essentially a really cool pub. read more

Pros: Friendly staff. Restaurant, sports bar and beer garden. Various areas suitable for all types of events. Large TV which is great for watching the football (but expect to get there early to get a good view of the TV). One of the best buffets. The mushrooms are incredible. Chocolate fountain. Good menu. My first visit here and the customer service was faultless, the food was delicious especially the chocolate banana pudding with espresso sauce. My only complaint was the coffee but I mentioned this to the waitress when she asked about our meals and she didn't hesitate to ask what I didn't like about it and she promptly offered to make me another one or not charge for it. I chose to try another one and it was perfect. The salad/veggie bar had a nice choice with the mushrooms, roast beetroot and roast carrot been my favourite. read more

Hmm was expecting a lot more due to them just receiving an award for best SA Hotel. Came out of my way to eat here especially because of the award. The decor was very new and pretty funky. It has that new pub feel with lots of trendy areas that you can have that more experience private with cool outside booths and sectioned off areas. The food was pretty good. The serving was on the small side but fairly comparable to the price. Seems to be a good range of South Australian produce used which is great. The food customer service could of been more attentive. All in all it was fine. My expectations due to the award may of been elevated. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but if I lived in the area I can see the attraction. The bar staff were lovely. I have been to the Warradale quite a few times; it offers a bar, bistro, Sports bar and gaming area. Also has bottle shop attached and accommodation. There is an outside area with booths and heaters, as well as a large screen and some areas are sheltered. . They have live entertainment at the weekends. The food is good and reasonable prices. It can get busy especially the weekends. Opens till late on a weekend. read more

This review comes one week late as we were there last Sunday for Dad's surprise 60th birthday in the function room. This would of received the full 5 stars but as I haven't reviewed this place on here before it was sitting at a 3 before an outstanding day for the event on Sunday. To start the girl that was behind the bar (the name escapes me) but she was an absolute champion throughout the whole day, friendly and looked genuinely happy to be there and as the day went on having to put up with drunken slurry daytime pissy people she was fantastic at joining in on the fun. The reason I had the warradale set as a place I would not return is because the last two occasions we went just to eat the food was dismal, over $20 anywhere for a small and bland, unappealing chicken paramagana is always destined for the "lifetime ban list" But this party food won me back BIGTIME. Amazing pulled pork sliders, Fresh prawn Spring rolls, some amazing beef tapas style dish and so much more. Was absolute quality and will have no hesitation to host an event here in there future. All in all, it was a 5 star day and just due to past experiences loses the star. read more

As I used to live across the train station to the Warradale Hotel I have had many meals there. The food is always great, the beer is always cold, and the staff are always very lovely! It's a relatively busy bistro, filled with mostly older couples enjoying their stay at the hotel. So if you're looking for a trendy place to eat, this isn't it, but if you're simply looking for a good feed at a good price then this is the place to go. It definitely does not look like much, but it is definitely worth a look at for their specials. Also, with the Oaklands Park train station being within walking distance, it's an easy spot to get to. It's also quite close to the Marion Shopping Centre if you were looking for a quieter spot to have a drink after a big day of shopping, rather than at one of the bars in the shopping centre. read more

Terrible service. Food did not come out for an hour and a half and ended up leaving before the food came out. No communication what so ever until an hour of waiting while other people had entrée and main served. First time and will NEVER GO BACK. read more

The Warradale Hotel has gone really "CRAPPY" and has reached its worst point. The quality of their customer service and behaviours are arrogantly rude, unpleasant, very cliquey, and neglectful, while the quality of their food has not been fresh and unpleasantly tasty. Whereas the cost of their prices has gone unreasonably and selfishly too high. We will never ever come back here again and we will not recommend anyone to come to the Warradale Hotel again in as much as possible. read more

The Warradale was frequented by me and friends for the last 4 years..... Many weekend spent in the Verandah Bar and outside area in days and evenings! The beer is cold and the food is good..... If not slightly over priced! However the old Warra is gone and has just undergone extensive renovations.... The sports bar ( now the Tavern) is no longer dingy and purple and green, now a large light area still with all the TAB you need!! The new bistro is way busy and the food is good, though inconsistent! The Choc fountain is awesome! The new Garden is great with large screen, heating , booths and sheltered areas to sit in!! I did notice that after the renovations the prices on the menus had rose a little too.... I believe it's over priced now for a suburban pub! Also the clientele seems to have changed from normal families and couples to posers and and bloke that's look like gangsters being cool!! Hopefully the normal folk will return after the hype dies down abit.... The rest can return to the highway!! read more

NOT Coeliac friendly. They offer lots of "gluten free" options that are ok for people with gluten intolerance but not Coeliac Disease. Their ingredients are gluten free but they do not prepare meals separately to avoid cross-contamination (they fry in the same oil, prepare on the same surfaces etc). That said, the chefs and serving staff were helpful and prepared me a steak (pan fried) and mash with steamed veg so that I could eat a meal with my family - it wasn't great and cost me $40 but I appreciated their effort. The only thing that really bothered/baffled me was that their gravy is labelled gluten free on the menu (so I ordered it) but when my food came out there was no gravy and they told me it actually isn't GF. Not sure how they can stuff that one up - all Gravox is GF if they are using packet mix, and if they are making it themselves with flour then surely they are using GF flour! So my meal was pretty average - and they didn't even refund me the cost of the gravy, which cost extra. read more

Got a raw beef schnitzel, then had a 25 min wait for an incredibly expensive caesar salad for a replacement, which I had to takeaway because we'd spent so much time waiting and didn't have the time to stay any longer. Dinner Saturday night with friends in the dining room started with friendly but slightly disorganised staff. Food & wine prices appeared to be excessive for a suburban hotel. I lashed out & had a steak for around $ 38.00 with the anticipation that it would be better than a $24.00 snitzel, totally disappointed with the cold piece that was served up. End result our group of 10 will not promote or return to this hotel for a meal again. read more

To me the new did not live up to the hype I have read since it's upgrade, 3/4 hour wait at lunch time in my book is too long. The food did not match the reviews written, it was average pub food at above average price. What is most disappointing is having emailed hotel (over 24 hours ago) with concerns they do not bothered to respond. Obviously the management want to make sure I dont spend any more money there. If you want to wait a long time for average food I recomend the Waradale hotel. read more
