Clean, well maintained, quiet, comfortable, and scenic. Be sure to check out the tree growing on a rock in the creek! I'd go back tomorrow if I could. We were there in order to go to the Cass Scenic Railway and it was convenient access. Loved it! I highly recommend it.

The Morning Glory Inn offers easy access to skiing, snowboarding, golfing, Cass and Durbin Railroads, mountain biking, hiking, hunting, fishing and all of the many other scenic possibilities that Pocahontas County WV offers.  Your first glance of the Morning Glory Inn Bed and Breakfast offers the 90 foot front porch, which is perfect for star gazing, bird watching or just plain relaxing. Then, upon entry, the large guest area beckons to be sat in with its comfortable leather sofas and cushy chairs to warm by the fire and relax, read, chat or watch a movie. And, of course, we do have WI-FI. The Morning Glory Inn has actually lowered its rates and includes a much nicer than usual continental breakfast. On weekends we'll always add something extra and we'll probably be cooking some eggs and pancakes. We have also added refrigerators and coffee makers to the rooms so that everyone can keep a snack available and have a cup in their room. Our well-appointed rooms with vaulted wood ceilings and private baths including are the largest in Pocahontas County WV.

Great place! We just returned from our third visit! Ed and…read moreCarol outdo themselves in catering to our preferences for dining. We elected to enjoy a Sunday evening "Casual Dining" experience. My wife ordered Baked Chicken while I enjoyed Ed's Baked Salmon. The breakfasts were superb, with delightful conversation. Because this was our third visit, Ed presented us each with our own hand-carved Walking Stick. The gentleman who crafts these beautiful pieces has left us this year, he will be sorely missed. On our second and third visits we stayed in this Hide-Away Cabin. This is a stand alone detached, fully equipped rustic cabin. All the pots and pans necessary for cooking on the gas stove. Man! Is it cozy! This (not so little) place sleeps five with the huge pull-out couch. The wrap-around porch has a swing glider overlooking the mountains. The master bedroom in the cabin has a walkout screened porch. The ample supply of heavy quilts came in handy for sleeping and wrapping into for some reading. It's just a short walk to the main inn for our meals, where books, movies and music CD's are plentiful. The regulation size pool table is downstairs. What a beautiful place this is!! We came away with our walking sticks, a handmade bird house for our back yard and the memory of being off-the-grid for three days. The morning of our departure there was a light snowfall, enough to cover the ground for this pic. The roads down the mountain were just wet by the time we packed up and left. The three words we have that best describe our adventure: SERENITY, TRANQUILITY and SHALOM

We had a great breakfast, virtual tour, and hike on the property. The new owners are so accommodating, we could not wait to come back and experience true mountain charm. So we immediately booked for the fall foliage. Guys they still had rooms and those rooms are gorgeous. We can't wait to return to mountain hospitality, with electric chargers (WV just doesn't have them)

The hotel isn't so old, I was told 17 years old but it seems older with its classic style - it's gingerbread moldings and large porches - and it's quite cute. I really enjoyed my time here. I'm glad that I read about the lack of WiFi and cellphone service in advance so I was prepared. I took it as a break to spend time with my friends and husband - a time to disconnect. They also host spiritual conferences there, we were told. I can imagine it being a good place for a church retreat - the rates for conferences were very reasonable - advertised in the $400 range for a full weekend of meals and activities. I can imagine this business growing as the location is extremely beautiful and it's a powerful thing to disconnect and reconnect with loved ones.

The room is clean and with an unique theme as described on their website. The only downside is this place is too far from where we live. We would definitely like to visit more if it's closer. It's a perfect place for kids too.
