Great venue. The sound is good. The lighting is excellent. I don't go out to clubs much at my age, but a DJ who is older than I am was in town so we have it a try. There was a metal band downstairs and we worried about the sound bleeding through, but it all went well and didn't affect our show. The ceiling is low so the sound didn't bounce all over. The club was packed. It was decorated with a general club theme + kpop on the theater display. The DJ knew her music and played song after song to the audiences pleasure. She didn't play any songs requested by specific members, regardless of hard they tried. A bar was jammed pack with drink orders so it was slow to get any. read more

I had an awfully erratic and scary interaction with the bartender On Friday, February 13 at around 9PM, I went up to the bar to order a drink. After he couldn't hear me multiple times, I simply showed him the menu, he then screamed at me and told me he wasn't reading that. I told him I was simply trying to help him, and that he didn't have to be difficult, he then continue to scream at me even more and refuse to make my drink. My boyfriend and I paid for tickets to go dancing there that night, and I felt so unsafe, and scared, that he was the only bartender there, that we decided to leave. We then chatted with Stuart the manager who promised us we could come back the next night, to go to a different event, which we were so excited about, only for him to then tell us the next day that we couldn't come because the event was sold out. Warehouse on Watts is great for many reasons, such as the various events they host put on by incredible organizers like Darius Alexander and Alexandra Rose. There are many bathroom options, both down and upstairs. There is a large enough bar and it does not take too long to get drinks. The venue itself is not the most polished, but not dirty either. There is plenty of space on the dance floor for all guests to enjoy themselves. I have always had fun while there, and have found it easy to get tickets for the events I want to attend in advance online. The main reason that WOW is not a 4 or 5 star worthy place, is more so because of the staff. Be cautious if you pay with a credit card, as staff members (more specifically one bartender) have taken personal information from credit cards to then find customers on social media. This behavior is concerning and violating, and has happened on multiple occasions. read more

Security are jerks. Audio quality is terrible. Not worth going even for a good artist.

This spot is smack in the middle of a neighborhood which is uncomfortable for patrons and disrespectful to the neighbors. The layout gives school dance and the upstairs floors were so slippery. Could not withstand the slightest of spills. For the most part the staff was great. One or two people working the floor were hella rude but what are you going to do. read more

Please note that this review is in regards to Warehouse on Watts as a potential wedding venue only. My partner and I initially looked at W.o.W as a very high potential for our wedding venue for a number of reasons. We are all about supporting local grassroots initiatives/community, we have frequented many shows here and it held a special place and created a lot of memories for us, etc. Unfortunately, saying that our experience left a lot to be desired is an understatement. Our experience started off with meeting Meg at the venue on February 7th, started off with not answering the phone, left multiple voice messages etc. It ended up being they had a surprise inspection visit so I don't blame them on this one - but it was an inconvenience as we both took off work early in order to come to the venue. We finally met and did the walk-through on February 26th in which Meg sent me a detailed outline of the rental fee, the open bar package and a Q&A about aesthetic decisions, rehearsal dinner, decisions on valet, what floor is used for what, food decisions etc. Between then and March 10th I had sent a few follow up emails regarding my rough draft responses and additional follow up questions. On March 10th I sent a final follow up email regarding those questions. On March 19th, Meg followed up with us and told me she has been "crazy busy and will respond soon." March 22nd, she texted me " Monday I'm getting on it". Monday came and I did not receive an update. Wednesday March 27th she texted me " I will 1,000% have it to you by today". Thursday March 28th I texted her I did not receive an email. Meg replied " I understand. I will alert you as soon as we get to all your requests. My assistant is away". Saturday March 30th Meg texts me "I finally have free time and a full management staff back in action. Will have to you by Tuesday and we can chop it up." On April 8th, I emailed the owner Gavin directly that I had not received an update since. I called twice last week, no answer - left a voicemail once, texted last Thursday April 4th - no response. Gavin responded right away on the same date and notified me they just brought on a special events coordinator to handle private events. April 11th I finally was able to "grind out the specifics" with their new event coordinator Cassie and Meg. Ultimately, I obviously went with another venue since at that point I knew I couldn't trust them on any given day, much less an important event such as a wedding. One of my biggest complaints about my experience is their disrespect of a potential client's time. Whereas I bent over backward to try to accommodate to their time, responded quickly to emails and calls, they did not do the same for me and when they did respond it would be something like " can you do a 5pm call tomorrow" when I've been trying to chase them down for hours, days, weeks. If you are looking at wedding venues for the first time let me give you my two cents. You've read my experience above, let me give you a contrasting experience. Another venue I looked into, responded 2 hours after my initial email inquiry at 7pm on a Friday. They responded to my requests no less than 24 hours (usually within 15 minutes). They were ALWAYS available. The experience was night and day. Whereas I felt I was bending over backwards pulling teeth at WOW for answers, this other venue was bending over backwards for ME, trying to impress me beyond all expectations. After speaking to a lot of my fellow friends that are married/ getting married - they certainly confirmed that any wedding venue generally goes over the top trying to impress you for your big day, hoping you will trust them as a venue for your big day and called my experience " a horrendous nightmare." If I can't trust them to keep promises, meet deadlines, and respond to inquiries - it was clear I could not trust them on a day that is FULL of deadlines, stress, and scheduling. If you are looking at W.o.W as a potential wedding venue, I highly highly highly recommend against doing so - or wish you the BEST of luck, truly. Now as a music venue - I used to quite enjoy going to the space and I appreciate the diversity of music and talent they bring in. However, I have not returned since they acquired their liquor license and are no longer BYOB. I have not returned since my wedding fiasco due to obvious reasons. If I do return, I will update my review on the music venue portion. read more

Fold Theory ripped me off when I went there recently. Charged me and my friend $60 to get in, 10 minutes before it closed. We thought it was open til 3am. Nope. Closed at two, charged $60 at 1:50am to get in. Maybe someone could have said something before we paid to leave. Fold Theory is a scam collective. read more

Good music. Good people. Alternative. It's a hidden gem of sorts. Hard to find but word of mouth is where you'll catch wind of this place. Or their page... It should be noted that drinks are a bit pricy, so I guess this is a bit of a hipster place. Alas, I met a couple cool folks and I danced my butt off for a few hours. I saw Tim Baresko and Shiba San here, the place was packed with fun people dancing to GREAT house music :)) the drinks were surprisingly cheap. Only $6 for a tequila pineapple type drink and it tasted good too! Cash only so make sure you bring $$. Also no re-entry. Bass was thumping /sound system crisp. Only downside the venue seemed a bit small upstairs with all the people that packed in there. I had a really great time here! Will return for future shows when I'm in Philly! read more

A hidden gem :) WOW has two floors of event space that you can rent together or separately, full bars on both floors (cash OR credit), sound systems installed on both floors, and the best vibes. Right around the corner from the Broad & Girard stop on the BSL, too! read more
