The Magnetic Fields, April 12, 2025.

An absolutely lovely venue to see a band! I saw The Magnetic Fields here in April 2025, and loved the no-nonsense seating and stage. The theater resembled my high-school auditorium in a good way, and the entire ambiance was one of intimacy. I'd gladly make the hour-plus drive to see a band perform here. The beer selection was decent, and there's a pre-show bar/lounge area worth checking out. I found street parking two blocks away, and the area seemed cute enough to visit before the show. Maybe next time!

A very cute theatre in a very cute area that is desperately in need of some upgrades. The ceiling, the seats, the bathrooms...in need of some rehab and investment. Some great elements: + Parking is very easy with unmetered lots and spots all around the venue. + The sound system is very good so your favorite acts will be crystal clear. + Staff here is very sweet and clearly care a lot about their theatre. + Good bar selection and decent prices. The acts that come through range from bizarre to well-known. I thoroughly enjoyed the drag performance I saw and, while the theatre itself needs some maintenance, I look forward to returning and enjoying the area.

Love the Keswick, nice old school venue in a really cute little spot in Glenside. They get some good acts to come through and the prices aren't outrageous. It is a very old venue, it's going to turn 100 in a few years. The seats are a bit tight and for whatever reason it's not a place people get up and dance. Maybe they cater to a more mature crowd but people mainly stay seated with the die hard dancers on the side or in the aisles. The bathrooms are also a bit tight, they squeeEd whatever plumbing they could in there. It is a cool venue though, and the staff is really nice. Concessions are limited to candy, not much to eat here but there are some good local places right across the street including both a pizza shop and burger place, both of which I recommend trying before a show.

Great venue! I saw Alison Moyet on April 30, 2025. Great acoustics and seats. I'd see a show here again.

Really enjoyed my visit to the Keswick theater. They seemed really organized and had a very easy entrance. Parking is a little challenging but we managed to find some free street parking a few blocks away. The seats are a little weird as they move when you sit down but I felt like I was able to see really well. The acoustics were nice. We had a long merch line but the workers did a great job at organizing us. I would definitely see something else at the Keswick theater. Thanks for a great show.

I was here for the first time a little over a year ago and then again last week. It's a great theater with so many wonderful shows! There are two parking lots behind the theater although we've never had luck with those so we find street parking which isn't bad. Usually a block or two away. The theater also just expanded and now their box office and will call is inside along with a new bar and seating area. It was very nice and the drinks were priced right, not crazy expensive. We look forward to seeing more shows here!

This is one of those theaters where every seat is a good seat. The air is on, but it 8s not that cool in the room. Old seating but decent room even for a 6ft guy like myself. Their is a bar you can enjoy before coming in the theater. And a movie type theater concession stand that has little snacks you can purchase. Nice spot of a comedy show

Nice small venue. Acoustics pretty good. But that could be because Mike Campbell & the Dirty Knobs were playing

Ask the Community - Keswick Theatre

Any recommendations on places to eat before a show?

Trevi, on Glenside Ave is good. It's a BYOB,

Have they renovated recently? Last time I was there the springs were popping through the seats we had. Haven't been since. Hoping they have renovated.

As of 7/7/17 they had not. Still the same super narrow old school seats.

The theater has been creatively carved out of an old bank building, and it's very comfortable and intimate in scale. Every seat is a good one! Unfortunately, he never appeared. What made the experience even more disappointing was that the theater apparently knew in advance that Javi Benitez would not be performing but continued to advertise him anyway. Customers were not informed of the substitution until just before the show began, after everyone had already arrived and paid for their tickets. Had I known that the advertised performer would not be appearing, I would not have attended. Continuing to advertise a performer who is no longer scheduled and waiting until the last minute to tell customers is misleading and shows a lack of respect for patrons. The replacement performer may have been talented, but that's not who I purchased a ticket to see. Customers deserve accurate advertising and timely notice of significant changes to a show's lineup. Unfortunately, this experience has left me with little confidence in Smoke & Mirrors Theater's business practices. I hope they improve their communication with customers and consider offering refunds or other compensation when advertised performers are unable to appear. I cannot recommend attending future shows unless the theater is more transparent about changes to its advertised lineup.

I really enjoyed it! The theater is small, holds about 200 people. The staff is very friendly, always welcoming you when you enter. The bathrooms always clean and they even have snacks for sale during the intermission. The reason they get 4 stars is because there is only street parking on Germantown Ave. and a parking lot for the stores in the area is about a block away. So you have to get there early to find a spot. They also have nice shops and restaurants in the area. I would highly recommend this place for a fun night out or weekend matinee!
