It was... fine. Not a bad place to just grab a drink at a pub style bar (downstairs). My main issue is with the upstairs "dance" club type area. It's just way too small. One tiny bathroom. One tiny bar area which creates a huge line that barely moves. And the sound system! My God, the sound system, just bad. I went for a disco night and managed to dance a little on the crowded dance floor. But the crowds on the dance floor weren't moving! How is it, that SO MANY PEOPLE came out to a disco dance night, and just stood on the floor talking? Not moving? Honestly, it wasn't worth the cover, and I removed the next dance event at this venue from my calendar. Overall, meh. read more

A nice different down to earth vibe. It's all on your preference (probably which DJ is playing) but from the time you walk inside and head up the hallway upstairs and see the wallpaper to the couches. It sorta feels like a house party in a controlled adult setting. Bartenders are cool although it can get busy. Drinks on the cheap side but I wouldn't say dirt cheap. With the Barbary and Silk City kicking off things in full swing, I rarely find myself here for a night of dancing anymore. especially since 941 Theater started bringing in the occasional dance night of epicness. But that doesn't mean that the upstairs doesn't have it's good nights. If anything it only means that there's usually more room to cut a rug, and when you're as tall as I am that isn't necessarily a bad thing. But to me the best and most consistent thing about 700 Club is still the downstairs bar. The bartenders always whip up some pretty strong drinks. And the beer selection is always exceptionally well rounded. And this bar will always be known as the reason that I've sworn off Mad Elf (good thing it's seasonal!). read more

This jawn is a dud. A bust, a horrible time, and bad music. I was here a few years ago and it was hella crowded but this time it was the opposite. The club had too little people and on top of that, the music was horrible. I enjoy to dance but there was no good dancing music. It felt like an awkward high school dance. People were having fun not were they really moving. My friends ended up sitting down less than an hour being there. I don't even think we stayed there for an hour. I am going to do a pre-yelp review. As in, I am going to review the 700 (we always called it the 700 Club but then I was up early on Sun morning looking for something good on TV... and realized why they don't use that name) by getting in my wrinkled, floating-in-spinal-fluid time machine to 2004 give or take 2 years and review. That way you can measure it up to how awesome it used to be. At that time, in my early 20s, I was pretty hot. Well, I mean, I look at pics now (39) of then (23) and think "damn! Why didn't I wear make up or do something with my hair or go to the gym? I was hot! And skinny!) and my one friend organized all our going out nights cis no one else wanted to pick the place and call everyone and drive too but do she got to pick where we went and she was all about Old City and NoLib. And cover bands. So dancing was more often than not something like this: 4 or 5 shots of SoCo (chilled, no lime) and 2 or 3 vodkrans and my old (as in "where is she now?") BFF and I would have each other and dance. Within 5 min, one of us would lean in and tell over the music "you have a butt humper!" Then the other would reply "Thanks! So do you!" I'm so glad I used to love ska shows as a teen because skanking (which is not what you think it is but the name of the dance you do when you listen to ska) is all elbows so I would just start skanking. Not only would he now have an embarrassing girl doing a funny dance 6 inches from him, he also had elbows coming way too close for his balls for comfort. I'd get a nod when he was gone and commence regular dancing. There were 2 clubs that were an exception to this rule: Woody's, and 700. And the music! Upstairs it would be smoky (disregard, no longer applicable) in the way that was obvious cigs mingling in secretish lower level of The Last Drop (n. Eng. A coffee shop that I think is still there on 13th and Pine that I went to every day after school from 1995 to 97) with weed. So keep in mind what the year was and the stylist would be something like: If I were a Rich Girl, Friday I'm In Love, Mo' Money, Mo' Problems, Toxic (B Spears), 99 Red Balloons, Love Shack, Heya (or whatever that Black Eyed Peas song was called) and Anarchy in the UK or Smells like Teen Spirit. It was fun, it was a danceathon, it was so reasonable for center cityish, and it was DIRTY. I once had heels on that were giving me crazy blisters so I was drunk enough to dance in hate feed. Not only did so it out a cigarette with my left foot by accident, when I left and looked at them, I literally could have drawn a pic on them that would look like a negative. Shitty analogy. They were pitch black. But it would be worth it. E everyone was so friendly and obviously bonding with a live for the music. Something old and (unyil now) forgotten would come on and if find myself around 2 or 4 random people, girls and guys, and we'd "whoo!" And all start singing, dancing to play off each other and the lyrics. It was that kind of comradery. Rare as fudge to find. That connection with a crowd where you feel yourself not as just "Your Name Here, Data Entry, Likes herb and kickboxing (the sport of the future)" but part of the collective human conscious which is like a rush. Awesome. Then you'd go downstairs and theres a bunch of yuppies in business casual drinking cosmos and martinis at the bar. That part was weird but the rest of it... If it is any different than what my time machine told us it used to be like, then it has only gone downhill and you should look high and low elsewhere for the place that gives you the feeling this place used to. 700 club is one of my favorite bars in Philadelphia because of the atmosphere and music. They have a large assortment of drinks that are all reasonably priced. 700 club has two floors- the first seems like a regular bar but once you go upstairs you find what appears to be an apartment converted into a dance club. What used to be a bathroom counter is now a DJ stand with an actual toilet seat next to it. I love this feel because it's as if you're at a house party but with a bunch of strangers who like the same music as you. They play all kinds of music from new to old. When I was here they played a lot of Kanye so I was very pleased. I really liked the crowd here. Everyone just seems to be getting down and having a good time. The only downfall I find I feel is the AC is just not strong enough for the amount of dancing this atmosphere requires. Regardless, whenever anyone asks for bar suggestions I almost always mention 700 club- huge fan. read more

700 Club is my favorite chill bar with awesome dancing upstairs. 700 gets a 5 star for dancing atmosphere, people and uniqueness. The bartenders are great and I ways enjoy catching up with them. The downstairs bar has regulars kind of the the bar in Cheers :) if you are looking for a friendly conversation pop in on a random weekday. Friday and Saturday nights are usually busy unless it's really cold or rainy. The the dance floor fills up because it used to be a room in a house with a bathroom. The turntable actually sits on top of the tub. The DJs play awesome random songs. It's good music that can take you back or help you forget a bad week and get lost in the moment dancing and having fun. I've met several people there who have become good friends. It's a good community bar with a surge of people on the weekends looking to experience all 700 has to offer. read more

Wow, was this place a ragin' good time on Saturday night. I actually avoided it for so long cause the name sounded like a knockoff, outdated Studio 54. I only took off a star since it's one of those "doesn't get good till after midnight" kind of places, which is a pet peeve of mine cause I like an adequate amount of good dancing/socializing time at a bar from start to finish. But when it got good, it was GOOD. We got there at 11:15 since we didn't feel like waiting around anymore. Downstairs had like 7 people and the dance floor upstairs was practically empty. DJ was playing really annoying shitty 80s music (most likely because it was dead) and I was afraid it was gonna stay like that but my friends kept reassuring me it would get better in a half hour to 45 minutes. And whaddya know, lo and behold, at ten to midnight the place was suddenly pouring in with people and the 80s music made a quick transfer into Uptown Funk. Okay, here we go. The DJ was really good and worked with the crowd and I got to sweat and grind to an awesome mix of early 2000s hip hop throwbacks, a few modern clubby songs and reggae. The crowd is a cornucopia - bros, hipsters, hippies, dressed down, dressed up, old, young, solos, couples....it's a nice blend of people where everyone's friendly and everyone gets along. No fights, shoving or mean looks - kind of rare for a place that gets so damn packed you can barely move. There were even a few breakdancing circles forming towards the end of the night. Grandma's upholstered and mildewed couches kind of get in the way but somehow make the place that much more charming. Upstairs definitely used to be an apartment, with the DJ stand on a literal bathtub next to a toilet- old school tile on the walls and everything. Framed vignettes and mirrors and pictures in old antique frames all over the walls. The back upstairs bar looks like an old school I Love Lucy kitchen (FYI, this bar is cash only, but you can pay with debit/credit downstairs). I didn't pay for any drinks (one of those nights), but my friends said it's cheap and they had a decent selection of bottled and canned beers in addition to the drafts. FYI, you will most likely spend the majority of the night outside where everyone goes to smoke/socialize. We met SO many people out here over the course of just a couple of hours, so it's definitely worth it if you want to cool down and catch your breath and meet some cool people. Just make sure it's Baileys and Rose's lime juice. It's called a cement mixer and it spreads like a virus throughout their entire mouth, while congealing into a rancid sludge grossfest. This gets all up in your gums, in between your teeth, coats your throat. Ugh, just nasty. Last night's victim (might I say he rightfully deserved it) said it tasted like his grandmother's curtains. Best. Revenge. Ever. -A note about discovery- Was introduced to a delicious new cocktail, thanks to the talented bartender, Andrew (as per another friend's request). Called a Rosita. The traditional recipe calls for slightly different ingredients, but this was his take on it last night. Check it: * 1 1/2 oz. Gin * 1/2 oz. Campari * 3 oz. OJ * 2 dash Angostura bitters Stir with ice, strain into an iced filled Old Fashioned glass. Garnish with a lemon twist. So, what have we learned? Drink with your friends before you're ready to call them friends; devise alternate, non-violent, but equally satisfying revenge plots for assholes at bars; drink only as much as your guardian angel can fly. read more

I used to drive down 6 hours from college 7 years ago (!) just to dance at the 700 Club. Julia Factorial, aka the greatest dj ever, would spin Modern Lovers and Wire and Bel Biv Devoe so seemlessly together she must have been magic. The floor was smokey and sweaty and people DANCED. Hard. Like their lives depended on it. They were salad days. I used to think a Wednesday night at 700 would be my make-a-wish. Then, as has been noted, the crowd changed. Ask me in 2008 and I would have given this place five stars for dancing greatness. Sweaty nights, sipping high lifes and stumbling home, you couldn't ask for a better place. As I got older and more into the hanging with friends calmly at bars, my thoughts of cramming into "grandma's attic" (as I call it) and grinding up on sweaty sweaty people soured and I reserved them for special occasions like post break up daggering. So ask me last week and I would have given it a solid 2. Then on Saturday night, magic was in the air. Two new lovers found solice by the dumpster to have some sweet sweet tongue grinding. The young woman, excited at the prospect of this, tried to hoist herself up onto the dumpster. Struggling at the angle, she tried to push again. Finally, her beau lifted her up and put her on the plastic lid. And the lid caved in. Maybe you've seen two legs sticking out against the landscape of a dumpster before, but I had not and I will never forget those majestic limbs flailing. One flip flop sacrificed to the trash. This place is awesome. I had heard about The 700 but it took me a helluva long time to actually get there. We swung through last Friday on a whim and grabbed some drinks downstairs before heading up to the "living room" dance party area. Drinks were very reasonably priced, and there was a variety that covered everything from cheap swill to schmancier libations. Once upstairs, it didn't take long for the dance floor to fill up. This place gets packed very quickly, so my advice would be to get there early and claim your spot on the floor. The DJ was great, at first playing a random mix of Queen, Blondie and other old school tunes, then tapering into the more mainstream stuff that got the youngins excited. I was glad when the DJ brought back a mix that included some older stuff. I like to booty pop like the rest of them but after a while, every bubble butt song starts to sound exactly the same. Before I got onto the dance floor, I actually thought the place was well air conditioned. But the moment I started dancing that was not the case. But as a friend told me, "If you don't leave with your hair plastered to your face, you're doing it wrong." And I agree. read more

Or do you go to get crappy service from a bartender who is better than you and far too "busy" to actually give customer service...because customer service is for "the man" and we gotta stick it to "the man"? Well, if you're into the later, this is the bar for you. My friends and I were there on a Saturday evening. Snow was falling and the bar was relatively empty. We had a group of 5 and there were maybe 7 other people there. Conversations were being had while the two TV's showed an unimportant hockey game (not the Flyers) and a soccer game from God knows where. Eventually the soccer game ended and "Latino Hollywood Xtra" comes on. It was then that I realized the second half of Maryland versus Penn State basketball game was on a different channel. Seeing as no one was paying any attention to either TV I asked the bartender (We'll call him "I'm a Hipster so my shit don't stink") if they carried the Big Ten Network? "No We don't".....ok, maybe they don't. But after further thought I realized they had the NHL Network on one TV and "Latino Hollywood Xtra" on the other...so Big Ten Network should be part of their package. So I asked "I'm a Hipster so my shit don't stink" one more time to check. I will admit, I didn't say please. Instead of saying "sure" or "that group in the corner comes every week to watch 'Latino Hollywood Xtra' with the volume off", he said "No. I won't check". Period. Are you shitting me!!! What the F#$@?? I asked what the problem was and "I'm a Hipster so my shit doesn't stink" said "I'm the problem" and then he turned the TV off??? I was't asking for free booze. I wasn't asking to pee in the corner of the bar. I wasn't asking to sleep with his mother. I just wanted to check to see if a game was on! At a bar! At this point I wasn't taking this bullcrap. I asked why he's being such a dick. His reply "why are you?"....uh, 'cause I'm the customer and asking to check if a game is on isn't being a dick, it's what customers do! Well, "I'm a Hipster so my shit don't stink" stood smugly behind the bar asking me to leave....gladly, I will happily take 5 paying customers out of your establishment because you can't change a channel to a TV no one is watching. I did tip "I'm a Hipster so my shit don't stink" with a quarter...to the forehead. I guarantee he kept that quarter because soap is expensive and he needed some. As you can see by my other reviews I don't bitch about businesses...ever. But this was an exceptional case of Asshole-itis. So again, if poor service and a demeaning-smug-hipster bartender makes you feel important or cool, come here... it's awesome! read more

I don't think I have ever been as obsessed with a dance club as I am over The 700!! It basically feels like a really awesome house party, thrown by your best friend, who also happens to be a really chill DJ. My crew took me out here for my 22nd birthday and we had a blast. When you first walk in, it seems like any other bar--but don't be fooled--upstairs is actually the place to be! It's a little on the small side but the comfy couches and chairs really add to the old school vibe and the dance floor gets packed. I absolutely loved the musical blend of throwbacks and recent hits. Oh, and did I mention that the bartender makes a mean Tom Collins?? Honestly, I can't wait to come back here. I truly don't have a single complaint. What a cool little neighborhood bar. These are the kinds of places I look for and love. Just a chill place to get a cheap strong drink and not be bothered by drunken dipsh*ts or morons. My favorite bar in NoLib! Fantastic beer selection and they can mix some mean cocktails. Staff is friendly and responsive. Looking to try a new beer or and old favorite, then this is the place. Selection is great. Quirky vinyl spins on the record player while neighborhood people mix with the cool kids. On weekends you'll find soccer on the TV and the faithful that come to watch. We arrived at the 700 at ten thirty on a Sunday night. The place was dead but we decided to give it a go anyway. When we entered, no bouncer was there to check IDs, but after we entered the bar the barmen asked for ours and denied our entrance at the mere seeing of them being French although we were 21-23. This is not a proper way of treating foreigners willing to discover a new city, we left bitter and unsatisfied by a loosy night thanks to the 700 and its great tolerance of difference. I don't blame the barman for being a jerk - he was, but I blame him for behaving, towards me as much as towards my American friends, in a very rude way. I will never come back and will give very bad review to my friends in NYC willing to enjoy their night in this very sweet city. Because we didn't. read more

During the week and weekend afternoons, this place is an awesome dive-y neighborhood bar, strewn with locals in a very casual, devil-may-care atmosphere. It is during those times that I love 700 best, especially in late spring and early autumn when all the windows on the first floor are open and you can sit nearby with the breeze in your hair while having good beer and conversation. Loyal 700 clubbers tend to be clique-y, but you've gotta love a place that is devoted to English football and that shows the games at all hours. Bartending is top notch: with reasonable prices, they can make a mean cocktail and know their extensive beer offerings inside and out. They also always play a good selection of vinyl on their record player. As mentioned in other reviews, crowd rapidly changes during weekends (a little younger, some bordering on the obnoxious), especially upstairs - which gets positively roasting and super tight when it's rocking at full capacity. The bathrooms, like the questionable furniture upstairs are grimy, sticky and super dirty - try to avoid them all. If you can find space to jam and a little room to breathe, get your groove on because most often, the DJ's are the tops. Otherwise stay downstairs at the bar, enjoy the tunes, the serious beer available (with two hand pumps, hurray) and take in the crowd (but at your own risk). read more

Oh, 700 club. There's never a boring night here. The bar downstairs offers a great selection of creative, hand-made cocktails and a pretty standard list of draft beer. Upstairs is a journey back to your early-twenties house parities, where you throw your jacket on a sofa and get your groove on. Saturday nights are best, when the DJ keeps it fresh with an incredible mix of underground hip hop, indie, rock, 80s, world, electronica, funk, and basically anything you can think of. While I've only been to the downstairs bar once (for shame, I know!) and the upstairs for dancing a handful of times, I have never had a bad time here. I can't say much about the downstairs bar because of said lack of experiences, but I do remember it being pretty dead (fine by me) the night I was there. And the bartender had on a great t-shirt. (I remember the little things, folks.) There was definitely a strong "locals hang here often" feel to it, though I remember feeling welcome on that first visit. Good vibes, my friends, good vibes. Upstairs, though, is my jam. I love the whole house party feel, including the cruddy couches (on which I rarely ever sit because I'm too busy bustin' my moves), the bar in the kitchen and the massive amount of sweat dripping from people's bodies. Drinks are pretty cheap and the dancing is free. On Saturday nights, the DJ plays a fun mix of old school hip hop and other dance-y stuff. (I hadn't heard Cool C's "Glamorous Life" in nearly 20 years so naturally I had to watch the video over and over on You Tube the next day. Thanks for bringing back the memories, 700!) To put it simply: The 700 Club makes for a perfect last minute, must-go-dancing-after-three-pitchers-of-margaritas destination. I think the fact that I've had fun on every single visit most definitely warrants five stars. PS. It gets really hot upstairs. If that sort of thing (getting sweaty) bugs you, then upstairs is not ideal for you. And if you're wearing lots of layers (wintertime, especially), forget it. This was always bar #2 in my holy trinity of Standard Tap, 700 Club, and Minfo. I had way too many stupid nights of coming too early, sitting on the couches or coming too late and tapping hemispheres with other ladies to try to get to the tiny kitchenette bar upstairs. But I could always get myself two free packs of cigarettes when those Camel people came there [which was every night, it seems]. The downstairs is cool if you just want to stand around looking not-so-impressive and talk about stupid shit like how the guy wearing the Locust shirt isn't really into them because they're noisy garbage, he just wants the street cred. Or there was always the upstairs that used to play some good music, but I hear it's now Jock Jamz 2008. My favorite night there was when we were upstairs sort of close to the set of stairs and this guy comes barreling by with his hands ringed around another guy's neck. They tussle around for about 10 seconds. The one guy exclaims, just as the music goes down and the lights go up "I had ANAL SEX with your girlfriend! Dear 700 Club, I would love to love you. There are so many things about you that I can get behind. Your wonderful beer selection (HITACHINO FTW), your house party in the parlor setting, your music. It would all be wonderful, were it not for the intense number of DOUCHE BAGS that I encountered here! So many salacious remarks were made to me I didn't know what to do. I was afraid to leave the sides of my male friends and boyfriend. While getting drinks I was submitted to intense objectification. I merely said "excuse me" to some fellows at the bar, apologizing for interrupting their conversation so I could order. While BLATANTLY staring at my chest they said "It's okay, we were talking about you anyway". I left. Disgusted. While with my friends I had a very nice time dancing the night away, but I just couldn't shake off the fact that there were so many skeezballs! Like many of the other reviewers I visited the 700 during its heyday in 99-00 when it was a very cool place to be - great music, great people and it was genuinely hip. I can't comment on its current "unhipness" as I've moved on, but I can tell a 700 Club story... Back sometime in 99-00 I was there and I was upstairs toward the front near the DJ. the place was packed and it was jumpin. I was shaking my booty and making starry eyes at my lady friend when pa-whoosh! The speaker right next to the DJ burst into flame! I was a LONG way from the exit so I grabbed a tablecloth and smothered it as fast as I could, saving the day! And that's how I managed to live another day and be a hero for my lady. 700 club never disappoints. 700 club is a soccer bar during the day, and a hipster dance club at night. Usually doesn't pick up until around 11pm on weekends. The upstairs dance floor looks like someone's apartment (I'm sure it was) with couches and a small dance floor. The DJ booth is actually in the shower. The DJ always plays a good mix of current songs and 90s/00s hip hop. Also beers are cheap and there's never a cover. As long as you go in knowing that it has the feel of partying at a friend's house party, you will have a great time. Otherwise might not be the right place for you. read more

It used to be fun and I used to be a hip 23 year old jerk who invaded Philadelphia. would I go back? Probably not. It was a phase, and I am over it. It was good while it lasted. The summer of 2005 is the reason I got stuck in Philly and I owe some of that to the 700 club. Getting stuck here is probably one of the best things that ever happened to me. So, I've only been to the 700 club once before this weekend. It was the same night that I first went to Silk City, which is now my favorite Saturday night dance locale. So needless to say, 700 club paled in comparison. Based on a friend's recommendation, I gave it another try this weekend, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I still prefer dancing at Silk City, but this weekend I really had a good time at 700 club. The music is fun and easy to dance to, but they play a little more hip hop than I like. That being said, the crowd was fun, I ran into a bunch of people that I know, and there was a decent amount of room to dance, which is always good when you like to flail about when you're dancing. I like the fact that the upstairs is set up like a house party, although it's still way cooler than any house party I ever went to in college. I'm also a little skeeved out by the couches. Fabric and dance clubs are not a good combination... We took a break from the dancing and hung out downstairs for a little while, where I also had a really nice time. We actually got seats at the bar and were served cheap drinks (yay for drinks under $5) and were doted on by an awesome bartender, who not only kept our glasses full, but also didn't batt an eye when we only wanted water. Oh, and he also described us as "poised and full of grace" which are two adjectives that have NEVER been used to describe me before. Maybe he was drunk too, but it was appreciated :) All in all, when I'm looking for a night out that involves drinking and dancing, but I'm not looking for something quite as "balls to the walls" as Silk City, I'll be back! read more

We went to The 700 after a dinner at Silk City because of a suggestion of a friend who frequents this place somewhat regularly. We arrive and the downstairs looks moderately busy for a Friday night. A strange man that kind of reminded us of a creepier version of the old Six Flags man muttered something to my friend's boyfriend and we a little weirded out. Me and my boyfriend both order Sailor Jerry and Cokes and my friends and I go upstairs. Walking up the stairs at The 700 feels like you're entering the Stanley Kubrick adaptation of The Shining. The walls, just everything. I half expected a gushing wall of blood to meet us at the top of the steps and two eerie twin girls. No, just hipsters. There was a bar upstairs as well and the man there looked painfully bored and miserable. We sat on the couch and assorted mismatched furniture (it gave it character) and just relaxed and chatted. There was a DJ playing on top of what looked like an old bathtub. There was a small crowd of people dancing (small being about 5 people total). I noticed however, Mr Creeps Flags has migrated his way upstairs and was just standing against a wall gawking at us and the people dancing. The people soon left and the man stood his ground slowly swaying along to the music, gawking, and being generally very strange. When people walked up the steps, they immediately saw the only person on the dance floor was Mr Creeps Flags and quickly left. This went on for about half an hour, and finally some brave souls actually started dancing. More and more people came upstairs and it started to get more crowded. We danced for awhile and left, on the drive home we saw Mr Creeps Flags standing behind a telephone poll and safely made it home. I believe in Slender Man now. read more

Reading the 1 and 2 Star reviews are HILARIOUS. Those are exactly the people that feel out of place at an establishment such as this. Huge Fan. Mostly of the dance party upstairs. a) please be already drunk b) wear your hipster gear c) don't sit on the couches...its like that Febreeze commercial with the blindfolds The bar downstairs is good as well. They are friendly and they serve the standards and some extra stuff. I would place this place a little behind "Barbary" in terms of 100% hipster. I'm sure its a little TOO mainstream now..... Get your facial hair ready...pack your flats and don't forget to pull out your extra small sweater from the dryer for a sweaty, fun dance party. Seriously one of the best dj's on Saturday nights. The man was actually mixing before our eyes. Even shazaam couldn't pick up half of this guy's stuff. I was mightily impressed by the ratio. Thank god it was not a broasis. They play a pretty good mix of 80s, top 40, and general awesomeness. Tip: come here in the winter when it's cold out. This place has no AC. No AC = No 5 stars read more

I'd like to say this is a 4-star place. It's got the standard narrow bar on the first floor which I'm sad to say I rarely patron. I mostly hit up the dance floor upstairs on the weekends. I've gone as early as 9:30 when it's empty (though, as mentioned elsewhere, the DJ is very cool and played some requests for the small group I was with to start us off) and nearly every time I go, I'll stay til last call when it's packed shoulder-to-shoulder. I'm giving them 5 stars though for being the only dance club in the neighborhood and keeping in theme with the surroundings (read: hipster). I will say that I'm a run of the mill white collar twenty-something non-hipster living in No Libs, but I still get a solid group of friends to come out about once a month just to round a night out heading here to dance, and I don't feel any akward "you-don't-belong-here" vibes whatsoever. A fair few of the times I've been, giant dance circles have formed (which will take up the entire width of the place) with everyone having a fantastic time of it. Dress to break a sweat, moderately loud atmosphere up there too (ears shouldn't hurt, but you'll probably have to yell for conversation). Definitely worth checking out if you want to move and shake a bit in a cool unique setting. DJ spinning from the bathroom, Bartender serving from the kitchen, dance party in the living room.
