Great flooring place. We got laminate flooring around $7.50 a sq ft. It was better than lowes/home depots $30+ a sq ft. Far more bang for the buck. Yes return policy isn't as loose, but still saved so much for a far better product. I won't speak volumes to their in house installers as we had our own contractor do it, but we couldn't be happier. The floor plank is thicker, has a better rubber underside, thicker laminate so tougher more scratch resistant. Far heavier and denser. And something we didn't expect, it's also far more sound absorbing. We used to have tile and you could hear the footsteps downstairs a LOT more before. This seems to not resonate sound as much, i'm assuming because of the density and rubber pad underneath. I think we are good on laminate floor for likely decades, but we throw a lot of referrals their way, wouldn't recommend anyone else! read more

I bought carpet from these folks - and boy, were they awesome. They got me high end carpet for much cheaper than any of the retailer builder shops. Do not sleep on this place!!! We moved into a fixer upper and needed new carpet immediately. We got a quote for carpet that would be quickly available from Home Depot with an ok pad and ok carpet and thought that was just what we were going to have to go with (even though it was kind of expensive for what we were getting) since we had a time constraint. Then our friend told us about Ward's and we got MUCH better carpet and a way better pad for less than the Home Depot quote. Our carpet was installed within two weeks (quicker than Home Depot!) and two years later we still love it! After we got our carpet installed my dad remembered that they got their carpet here too, and 20 years later it still is holding up great. If you're in need of carpet, don't waste your time looking anywhere else. Come here first!! read more

I wish I remember the name of the very nice salesperson there who helped us, because she really made the difference. After coming from a previous carpet place with good service, we were really just looking at options at this point. But she was very helpful in letting us wander around, grab prices, and talk through a few things. As it turns out, the other place had promised to call with prices and never did, so even more props to the folks here who were on top of things. It was really a matter of service, and they came through. As for product, I gotta be honest that carpet all starts looking the same to me after a while. Oh, there's good stuff and bad stuff. There's memorable weird stuff. But I get way too overloaded with carpet fibers and threads and fabrics and wear patters and all the miniscule differences to really say with certainty that one is better than the other. So yes, they have good stuff and cheaper stuff. The layout here is not as fancy or nice as other places; you're kind of in the front of a big ol' warehouse. It may feel a little disorganized, but when it's called someone's "discount carpets" I think that's the price you pay--no fancy showroom. They were kind enough to let us take home a swatch to try it in the house it was going in, and in the end, we founds something good and this is where the purchase was made. read more

I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking at but I guess I can wander around a store looking at mystery flooring with prices I don't understand. After blundering around for a bit we chose a carpet only to find out that they really do have reasonable prices. They worked up a rough quote for us that was very workable. This was a basement flooring installation from hell. We were told it would be a 1 day install. We are now into our third day and it will take at least another day to complete the crappy job that the carpet installer, Carlos, did. The bathroom needs to be completely redone due to loose laminate and just an over all crappy job. The 3rd day hallway flooring is being done but the carpets meeting the hall flooring is still to be done as Carlos just did not do it right. Never use these guys again!!!!! read more

I'm giving this 3 stars because I'm very satisfied with the finished product and absolutely love my carpet and the price I got it at. I have loved Wards and have used it them many times before and recommended them to countless people to use. The store is great and the people are always great to work with and knowledgeable on their products. We picked our carpet and had the estimate done a few days later with the install 2 weeks after. We had an appointment at 9:30 AM. When the installer still hadn't shown up at 11, we called and they didn't even know he was behind. They said he'd be over around 12:30. At 2 PM I still hadn't seen him and called again. They said he'd be there in 5 minutes. At 2:15 he finally showed up. He was unfriendly, awkward, and to be honest made me a little uncomfortable. Of course I was already pissed because he was 5 hours late. I showed him around to wear the carpet was going 3 smaller rooms, a closet and stairs, and then he got to work. I went back to what I was doing and left him to it. Around 7:30 he says he is finished as he is literally walking out the door. I almost had to chase him down to see why he hadn't completed the stairs. He said he didn't know he needed to do them. He got more carpet out (which I didn't realize at the time was covered in snow and soaking wet) from the back of his truck and started. I went to check on him about 45 minutes later and realized he was laying the wrong carpet on the stairs. We bought fluffy, soft, more expensive carpet for the bedrooms and durable carpet for the stairs. I stopped him and asked why he wasn't putting in the other carpet. He didn't have his invoice with him and said they only sent him with one type of carpet. I sent him home to come back later to replace. When we finally got to talk to someone at Wards-5 days later, they were apologetic and sent someone over right away to fix it. But gave us almost nothing in the way of discount to keep us as a customer. I'm a firm believer in taking care of the customer. They obviously don't care enough to keep us, so we will be finding a new place to shop for carpet. read more

I chose Ward's because of the yelp reviews. I needed carpet for my house in Sandy and had very little time in town to make decisions. I questioned the standard 7 pound carpet pad, and was told that although I could upgrade, I would be very happy with the 7 pound pad. The employee never asked questions about where the carpet was going and I never anticipated a problem, but after the install, I am left with a huge step up from the carpeted bedrooms to the tile hallway. It is pretty bad. Now I am left with tile that will trip someone and possibly chip. Not sure what the solution is to that problem. I wish the sales clerk had asked where the carpet was going and so we could have talked about potential issues with the tile height. Maybe an 8 pound pad could have mitigated the problem. The carpet itself is great. I wish I would have gone with a thicker pad. Additionally, they re-installed the carpet on the top step of my staircase, but the installer trimmed the piece too much and left a very visible large gap. read more
