    Pork Nachos

Atmosphere was cool, clean. Food fell short, hamburger tasted awful, like it was meatloaf or something, was kind of mushy. Service was okay. Curly fries were good, nachos were just ok.

This was reasonable price and made fresh. The wardens table has a large variety of pulled pork, fresh smoked turkey and salads. Mac n cheese and even a Cuban press. The coleslaw was unique and delicious.

OK Nachos - pulled pork (4 star) Jalapeno - pickled? (5 star) Loved the setting - Beautiful views - Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary - (5 star)

Great food! The food at the Warden's Table was great and moderately priced. I got the nachos and my husband got the brisket sandwich. The girl at the register didn't seem to be thrilled she was there. I asked what was in the Convict Caviar and she pointed to a had written sign and said, "that", she had clearly been asked that a time or two. The food more than made up for it. We got to sit at a table in a jail cell. The atmosphere there was really cool.

Brushy Mtn. Penitentiary has been closed for many years and is now open as a tourist attraction, restaurant, and moonshine distillery brand named "End of the Line"... Guided tours $26 & general admission tours $16. The Warden's Table restaurant atmosphere and food is unique and worth the visit.

This is at Brushy Mountain Penitentiary in the gift shop. Great choices for food. I had the pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese. The sandwich was great. The mac and cheese was ok, would try another side. They do give you a cookie. We also got pork nachos and pork baked potato. The decor inside is great. There was a local dog hanging out and was the calmest dog ever. We would definitely go back when in the area. I was surprised that they serve beer also.

While on the site touring The Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary, we decided to experience it all and grab a bite to eat at The Warden's Table. I would call it more cafateria like then restaurant although not really either. Sandwiches, BBQ, and Sides. Sometimes they have Burgers but it's a changing menu and they aren't always an option. The atmosphere is open and unique. You're surrounded by bars to give it that prison feel. I had the Smoked Bologna and Pepper Jack Sandwich with Mac and Cheese. My Wife and Mother in Law went with the Club Sandwich and what looked like Arby's Curly Fries. All meals came with a Watermelon wedge and a Chocolate chip cookie. The food was nothing special but nothing to complain about either. A good option for a bite if you happen to be taking the prison tour. Not a place I would drive to specifically for the food though.

Surprisingly good bbq for a restaurant located in an attraction. Can get busy due to being on a trail from wind rock. Worth a trip!

We strolled in around 2:30, so it was not busy. There were only 3 other patrons sitting in an enclosed patio area which makes fit they're dining room. There are only about 20 tables in the place. The menu is on a big chalk board near the window at the ordering counter. They had a smaller floor chalk board that boasts the daily specials. Mr T & I perused the menu & decided on a half-rib basket & a brisket basket. Fit sides, we got French fries, fried okra, potatoe salad & green beans. They had a small tap with 3 different beers, a soda fountain & a large cooler with various soft drinks, energy drinks & a few canned beers. Ribs were fall-apart terrific. Brisket was tasty but a bit on the dry side. Great fries. The okra was perfection (don't tell my mom that is wa as good as hers)

Sweet tea is so good and Arnold Palmer was extra tasty. Huge Mason jars keep your thirst quenched. Reasonably priced. A must stop spot in the area!

I knew it was going to be busy because it was Valentine's Day. So I called at 330 and ordered a pick up for 530. I get there at 525 and was told it would be done in 5 minutes. I live 5 minutes from the restaurant so I understand 5 minutes. Someone else comes in after me for a 530 pick up. Ok, well I ask again if mine is ready. Nope we had a lot of orders come in it will be done soon. So I stand to the side and wait, and wait. After 15 minutes I see 2 boxes sitting in the window and ask, are those mine. No, those aren't yours. So I ask, can I have my money back? Nope they are boxing it up now. One person said we just had someone pass away. I am sorry to hear that and I knew it was going to be busy that's why I called at 330 to order it. And I wait and watch one of the girls, literally take the 2 boxes I asked were mine, put them in a bag with 2 more boxes, turn around and hand them to me. As I was heading to the door one of the girls from behind the counter said, dont come back. Ok, I won't. I used to love coming here, but service has dropped off. From being on hold to place an order so long that I was still on hold when I walked into the restaurant and ordered in the store to what happened today. When I got home I took the prime rib out of the box and it felt cool to the touch. Like I said I live 5 minutes from the restaurant and the temp of the meat was 86 degrees. That was not something that just got boxed up. Don't worry about me gracing your business any longer if this is your treatment of customers.

The mozzarella sticks cheese pull was epic and they tasted really good! The prime rib sandwich was delicious! I don't do spicy and I got really scared with the first bite because my lip went numb with some spice, but I must have just hit a pocket because the rest of the sandwich was all flavor. The green beans were amazing, they are cooked in meat stock and the flavor is wonderful! And our daughter really enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich and the fries were hot and crispy with perfect seasoning. Definitely worth the visit!

On every occasion, all our food has come to the table COLD. While the staff is eager to remake it once we say something, the issue is never fixed on the front end which leads to a lot of wasted food..which is frustrating and completely avoidable. We keep coming back hoping it's finally been addressed, and it never has. The overall experience feels extremely low-effort. Food is served on paper & with plastic, which immediately cheapens the visit. Much of the food comes out looking unappetizing, as if it's been slopped onto the plate, and at times it even looks microwaved rather than freshly prepared--especially disappointing for a BBQ restaurant. The food being delivered by a robot is also completely out of place and honestly awkward. It doesn't fit the restaurant at all and draws uncomfortable attention when it comes to the table rather than enhancing the experience. The bathrooms are another issue. They've been dirty on multiple visits, and there are no paper towels at all--only one of those hand blow-dryers. That might work in an airport, but it's incredibly impractical in a restaurant, especially when you're trying to clean kids' hands or faces after messy BBQ. The only reason we've continued to give this place chances is the friendly staff, and the hope that maybe the next visit would finally be better. The ice cream shop next door is honestly one of the biggest reasons we stop at all. Overall, the experience feels bare minimum. I'd rather run through a drive thru chain. It's unfortunate because this place has potential..but it's hard to recommend unless real changes are made. For now this was our last visit.
