Many hereditary eye diseases run in my family, and I feel very thankful that the optometrist Tim Smicker, OD examines my eyes here. During my first visit over five years ago, Dr. Smicker told me information that none of my previous optometrists had ever told me. He explained how my eyes were starting to experience presbyopia and that I do not yet need bifocals. He gave me an Amsler Recording Chart to use every other day to detect and monitor progression of macular degeneration. He also gave me a patient referral form and a list of ophthalmologists so I could schedule an appointment with a specialist for my retinas. Each year, I have visited this business to receive eye exams and to purchase my eyeglasses and contact lenses. My eyes get a little worse over time, and Dr. Smicker always finetunes my prescriptions so I can see as clearly as possible. The employees here gave me a trial pair of contact lenses to wear while I wait for my year-long supply of contact lenses to ship to my house. Most recently I bought 1.5 years of contact lenses for $534 after insurance (!). This year I decided to try progressive eyeglasses for my presbyopia. The employee kept telling me different prices, but in the end the actual price was OK, and they work better than my past single-vision eyeglasses did. My husband also receives eye exams and eyeglasses here. Dr. Smicker has correctly performed his eye exams, and the employees have helped him to select eyeglasses that look good on his face.

I called today 10/22/2019 to ask about getting my lenses fixed because they are scratched. I was told the warranty expires after a year!! Nowhere on the form I was given is this disclosed!!! It states after a year the frames are no longer covered but says nothing about lenses. I am enclosing a photo of this warranty. Courteous, knowledged, and prices not so bad, not that I price eyeglasses often. I brought my own new Silhouette frames as shops charge so much. This was October 9, 2020. Nothing special. Rimless, lens with all the options available. Lens style to be perfect rounds. Out they go to the lab. When they come in, not close to perfect rounds. Remake. Now we are hitting holiday season. Then I was informed that the lens I chose (Trivex) was on back order, and not due in until about Christmas, delay for holidays. Jan 4, 2021, they come in. Asked her to check before I drive almost an hour to verify they are perfect rounds. "Yes they are, I checked". Exact same lens shape as first set. I actually question if they were remade honestly. So, I do not question the eye doctor, but I highly question the eye lab which makes the glasses. Three months wasted, no apology, and did not want to give me a copy of my medical sheet! I scheduled an appointment since I got vision insurance for the first time, and because I was having trouble seeing while driving in the dark. I felt like my eyes were being strained from constantly being in front of a computer screen. The appointment was very thorough and the doctor and other staff were friendly. I expressed my concerns for having air blown in my eye balls, and getting my pupils dilated. The doctor informed me that he didn't need to do the puff of air in my eyes because he had another way of testing the pressure. I was relieved. Once he put the eye drops in my eyes, he said I had about 15 minutes before things would start to get blurry. The woman at the front helped me look at frames and decide which ones I liked best. I tried on a bunch and decided between my top 3 favorites. I thought they had a good selection of designer frames. At this point my eyes got super blurry from the dilation drops when it was time to pay. I was so embarrassed because I couldn't see anything when I tried to hand the woman my health savings card. We then realized I never activated it. I felt so bad, but I had to ask her to read the numbers off of it for me to call to activate it. She helped ring me up and explained everything as I tried on glasses so there were no surprise charges. I was there for an hour and 15 minutes total, which was much longer than I expected. I had no idea what all an eye appointment entailed. It was very comfortable and clean. The doctor was patient and answered all of my questions. I chose this place based on Yelp reviews and distance to where I live. I can't wait to go pick my first pair of glasses in a few weeks!

This is my neighborhood vision store and I will always use them over the big box stores in the…read moremall. I will say that making an appointment is super easy and they even have a telephone prompted call to remind you the day before. That is great service. The staff is also friendly and really helpful. The appointments go by quickly and there has never been a wait time. I like the idea that when I have an appointment it is kept, and kept at the time that I made it. The frames are interesting and always hip. The prices are ok. I will say that on the whole they are a bit more expensive than I would normally like to pay. But I will pay that much for some prescription sunglasses because I drive around so much. Another thing that I like about this Vision Care is that they will give me my prescription and pupilary distance without making a huge stink about it. I pay for my appointment and for my sunglasses so if I want to get glasses cheaper online they allow that. Some other places do not and that is what makes me continue to use Vision Care above anything else. Anyone in the neighborhood should get their eye care here. It is great. The optometrist was personable and thorough. I was provided with a sample of daily contacts to try. After my exam, I was taken right to an associate to help with my contacts/glasses order. On the first day on which I was told I could expect the frames to be in-store with their lenses, I got a call asking if I would be satisfied with another color, perhaps green, although I had ordered gold frames. I asked for a full refund & an explanation of what occurred, instead. They told me that the frames were going out of production and that an Under Armour rep repossessed the frames that they had in-store. What I suspect actually happened is they just order frames off the grey web of resellers on behalf of their customers (adding 200$ to the price, for the "service"). Hence their inability to rely on their procurement process. I asked how I might track down another pair of those frames, they did supply me with a contact that seemed reasonable. The people there could not help me, much as I'm sure they couldn't help whatever receptionist or salesperson made the calls to try and procure the frames they had already sold me before they tried the honorable grey web - if indeed they ever did. I'd almost count this as a benefit, but the truth is the kind gesture of letting me get stonewalled by some megacorporation didn't really help me at all, it just wasted yet more time. Never happened before in my life. I've gone through a lot of frames, too. It felt remarkably like being scammed. If I wanted to buy something and never receive it, I'd just go to the grey web myself. By trying to get glasses here, I added 14 days of wearing broken glasses into my life, which has been some minor trouble.
