The park holds a lot of sentimental value for the city because it houses the Roger Williams statue and tomb. Personally, I appreciate how well maintained the park is and how peaceful it is. On warmer days, it can get a little busy, but it's a great place to relax. When I'm need of a little reprieve I like to bring my blanket and meditate on the grass. I also appreciate its location being so close to Brown and downtown Providence simultaneously. It's convenient and peaceful.

A beautiful and historic park with views of downtown Providence. It is located right on a hill and has the statue and tomb of Roger Williams with his hand out. There were benches and a small path throughout. A great place to picnic, watch the sunset, and just relax. The Rhode Island State House and Providence Place Mall can be seen from there. There is no parking lot just street parking. The houses nearby are historic. This was a frequent stop for author HP Lovecraft. No wonder it is called "The Jewel of the City".

The swings are a great addition, and I use the bike path and walking paths there frequently. As the weather gets better, I'm looking forward to spending more time there. It's always nice to grab a coffee from somewhere on Wickenden and set up in the park for a bit to enjoy the water and the people.

It connects Wickenden to the water in such a pleasant way. I also swear the plants & trees cut down the traffic noise from the evil Washington Bridge - which is much appreciated. Whoever was on the civil engineering team for designing this park deserves major props. Big fan.

There are a lot of concrete steps that can be used for seating and quite a lot of vantage points for the fire show. I wish we could have come here to see WaterFire, but we happened to come during a time when it was off for a few weeks. The area itself is quite pleasant, with a good amount of shade and space. There are also quite a few things to do in the area, like the riverwalk if you just want to stroll outside or the mall, which is right across the street.

Located at the tip of Blackstone Boulevard near the Providence/Pawtucket line, Lippitt Memorial Park features paved walking paths, benches, play equipment for ages 2 and up, and a newly refurbished fountain. Once part of Blackstone Boulevard and Swan Point Cemetery, the park was dedicated in 1938 to Alexander Lippitt, a First Lieutenant killed in WWI. From May through October, the park hosts a Farmers Market every Saturday from 9am-1pm.

A beautiful addition to the city of Providence! Every time we visit, we would make a stop there…read more This bridge was renamed to the Michael S. Van Leesten Memorial Bridge in 2020; it opened in August 2019. It was built on existing piers from the old highway, I-95. The bridge goes over the Providence River and connects two neighborhoods, Fox Point and the Jewelry District. There's a park nearby, called District 195; events are hosted at this location. The bridge was beautiful to walk on day and night. There were railings, benches, tables, and chess tables; at night there were LED lights that brighten the area. A wonderful area for walkers and cyclists. The view of the city skyline was breathtaking. One evening we were there, we saw the star-link satellite flying by, it was awesome. The downfall was, this bridge cost the city $21.9 million when the original budget was supposed to be $2 million. People were opposed with building this bridge because RI had the highest amount of bridges with structural issues. In the end, the bridge was built and it's become a popular attraction and landmark.

A mixed review of this trail/park, that at some point I'll have to revisit. The trail is in back…read moreof the field and is paved at the beginning offering a moderately uphill climb. Once you get to the top of that, you have a chance to see a nice view of the city to your left. Along the way to the top and if you keep going a little father there are multiple trail paths that jet off. It was easily on its way to being a five-star review. Unfortunately, I didn't get to explore as much of the trail(s) as I wanted, as I started to feel unsafe. Walking from the parking lot to the trail I was approached by 2 different people asking for money, and as I was walking the beginning of the trail, I noticed one of them following a little behind me. Although I had my pepper spray on me, I didn't want to be in a position where something could possibly escalate, so I cut through and back to the beginning of the trail and avoided the interaction. If you are going to this trail, I'd advise bringing a hiking buddy.

So enjoying your $ spent goes very fast. 3rd: 2 adults and I 1 kid you can all fit but I know we were squished! 4th: we did not get wet. It was a fear of mine (driving home wet=not fun) This was a perfect event on a Friday night for a 4 year old but I don't think my husband was pleased...

Also across the street is Dune Bros, so when you visit Rose Larisa, you can get some clam cakes & chowder and go eat in the park with a water view. I especially like the wooden staircases that take you down to the water. Although the beach is not very wide, it is long enough for a walk and leashed dogs are allowed on the beach as well. Rose Larisa is a great place to watch the sunset, and there is plenty of free parking. This park also is home to the annual RI Folk Festival and the city of East Providence also presents summer concerts here so go check out some local live music! I absolutely love this waterfront park.

Came for an Easter Egg Hunt for dogs. Park is super clean. Plenty of parking and beautiful views.read more
